What struck me the most today after watching the episode was the 2 minute convo between Shivaay and Shakti. A father and son who are the stark opposites of Tej and his sons. One relation so fraught with ego, jealousy and the other with faith, love.

Shivaay who has always stayed strong from a young age, donning the mantle of safe keeper, the wall felt his strength ebbing away from him, being buffeted by circumstances not in his control, felt the rope slipping away from his fingers and NM was just brilliant in his scenes with Tej. Be it holding the fingers of his lil brothers to walk with them on the path or protecting Anika, he has never faltered.

Like a little kid who seeks reassurance, love and comfort from his parents, Shivaay called his dad Shakti. A first in IB land for sure. He has always faced the troubles head on, taken decisions to protect the family. It was a sight to see him asking tearfully if everything would be alright, things go back to normal, the way it was. It was evident that when Shakti reaffirmed his faith in his SON, Shivaay had a shot of energy into his soul that was devastated by the fire, that sought to destroy them, the 3 brothers. When Shakti asked his son what was bothering him, why he sounded so forlorn and worried, it was the sign of a dad who understood that his son needed to hear the words, of strength and love. Even if life knocks you down a thousand times, do not fail to get up and face the next fight, hope is what keeps us all going when the days are dark, filled with despair. Ironic that Shivaay stood in the darkness whilst the fire was raging, turning the dark into an eerie glow that shone on him. Like an ember that glows and is hot to touch, so too will Shivaay tide over this difficulty.

We see Shivaay helpless and that was hard to see, a first of many more to come, in the coming days when the wicked trio of Tej, Veer and Svetlana succeed in reducing Shivaay penniless and to ashes. That is only their dream, for this man will rise from the ashes, becoming an even better man without his famous lastname the Oberois.

Now that Saumya has turned negative, it is going to be interesting to see if Rudra ends up with Bhavya or not. I just loved the little talk of the bade bhaiya with his chote bhai. Shivaay who was stressed over the fire, did not betray his anxiety even by a flicker and indulged Rudra, understanding his fears over his impending nuptials.

Such a beautiful scene of ShivRu and of Shivaay-Shakti. NM slayed the scenes. I am looking forward to the coming weeks.

The Shivaay-Shakthi phone call was a brilliant move by the CVs! No other character could have provided the 'you can do it Shivaay' like Shakthi did today. So true though that this came right on the heels of OmRu completely disassociating themselves from Tej - such a marked difference!

Rumya turning negative.. am on wait and watch mode to see what twists are in store 😆 but deffo want Rumya as end game!

I did not enjoy Rudy hyperventilating at the thought of being married to one woman life long and the family thinking it was all a big joke 😕 - if I were Bhavya, I would not be amused.

Nimmi, well said! Yes, for the first time in 450+ episodes, we saw a vulnerable SSO! The wall which he thought was impenetrable was cracking a little and he needed just enough bonding time with his dad to get that energy boost! All along, they have never shown dad and son being openly affectionate and I am now remembering the scene in OM kitchen one day when the Obros were making sarson ka sag and the Senior obros joined. And before Tej came in, Rudy was saying they never behaved like father and son and that many of his friends thought Shivaay was Tej's son! At that time, Shakthi quietly but firmly reassured Rudy that his dad-son relationship with Shivaay was special!
That came back true now! It was more soecial that Shivaay thought to reach out to Shakthi at the time when he thought everything he was trying to build was turning to ashes in front of his eyes!
Let us hope the burning embers stir a spark in him, creating a jwalamukhi that will eventually annhilate the baddies, including Tej's sheer arrogance and selfishness!
After all this, I dont want any sort of redemption for Tej! He can go for Vanvas with his ladylove, Jhanvi!

By the way, loved your explanation of how the burning timbers shone on Shivaay's face!

The phone call was short and sweet and who did he turn to when he was down and at his most vulnerable, his dad. It was reaffirming the faith one has, no need to parade the love and affection one has for their offspring, making proud proclamations that look here goes my son, my son.. that is the difference between Shakti and Pinky that was highlighted today.

Also the other father-son relation. If Tej did the last rituals for his bahu who was alive, so too did OmRu in their own way, by calling Shivaay their dad, their inspiration, their guide, their all. That was a big slap in the face to Tej, who is going mad trying to gain the affections/respect of his own sons.

I think the one woman for keeps made Rudy sweat and was keeping in line with his character that was shown at the start of the show. If I were Bhavya, I would not find it amusing in the least. SHe would have to turn a detective full time to keep up with his antics. LOL.

Hi Mala, 😃

You brought back the memory when Tej enjoyed a meal with his sons and family, saw the elder brothers bond over food rather than fight. We never had the father son talk between Shakti-Shivaay. When the truth of Shivika's video was shown, he walked away disappointed that his son could do this to a woman, please jog my memory. Pinky's reaction is stuck in my head and so is Tej's. Funny can't recall Shakti's words/reaction. Theirs is a relationships where no shouting matches are held or over displays of affection. IT is more of quiet pride in the other, each feels that and take pride in that. What better words than to say that 'Son, you are on the right path. Keep trying and do not lose hope.'

We all felt this way when Pinky played her dirty game with Anika and now it is Tej's turn to become the baddie in IB land.

Thank you! At last someone remembered my name!

Yes, you are right., when their marriage prelude video was shown, Shakyhi did say, i am ashamed of you! Likewise, when Shakthi comes over to give that returned pandhra lakh check to Shivaay, he chastises Shivaay for being disrespectful!
The same Sakthi always supported Annika and asked her to call him as dad! His is a quiet solid trustworthy love and not like the instant or what we call in tamil as dhideer love and affection whixh only Tej is capable of showing!

What a beautiful write up summarising the episode !
Shivaay was like a little boy who needed his dad's reassurance and the scene melted the heart.
