*Ring Ring*

Gauri sat between Shivaay and Om on the sofa, waiting for the call to be answered. All this while, Gauri couldn't help but notice Om, her half-husband, as she called him, sitting comfortably next to her. It always astounded her how the man claimed to hate her proximity yet always found ways to be near her.

The ringing continued. 'Koi nahi utha raha. Hum baad main call karte hai,' (No one is answering. I'll call later) Gauri said nervously. She was about to cut the call when Om held her hand, shooting her a warning look.

'Hello,' came a sheepish voice at the other end of the line. Gauri's eyes grew wide. Shivaay nudged Gauri. 'Hello,' Gauri said hesitantly. 'Gauriji?' the voice at the other end spoke. Ji?' Gauri asked, a little confused. 'Aap ne call kiya. Chodiye kaisi hai humare honewali begum?' (You called me. Anyway how is my begum-to-be?) Om raised an eyebrow. 'Begum?' Shivaay asked.

'Mera matlab hai biwi heheheh. Gauriji koi hai saath main?' (I mean biwi heheheh. Gauri is someone with you?). Ji woh bade bhaiya hai,' (Yes bade bhaiya is here) 'Aur Om bhi hai. Kaise hai aap Mr.?' (I'm here too. How are you Mr.?) Om spoke. 'Prem,' came the answer after a two second pause. 'Prem what?' Om pressed. 'Ratan.' 'Ratan?' Om questioned.

'Aapne khana khaya?' (Did you eat?) Gauri tried to change the topic. 'Haan. Aloo Puri mast bana tha,' (Yes. The Aloo Puri was lovely) Prem stopped abruptly. 'Tum ne humare ghar ke Aloo Puri usko bheja,' (You sent the Aloo Puri from our home to him) Om whispered to Gauri, who was biting her bottom lip. Shivaay rolled his eyes. Acha hum rakhte hai. Apna khayal rakhiyega. Bye.' (Ok I'll hang up. Take care of yourself. Bye) Gauri cut the call without even waiting for an answer. What just happened?' Om thought.

'Ho gayi tasali?' (Are you satisfied?) Gauri asked with a victorious smile. Om shrugged and went outside. 'Thankoo bade bhaiya,' Gauri said placing the phone in Shivaay's palm. 'You're welcome. Ab main jaake fresh hota hoon.' (Now I'll go and freshen up) Shivaay moved towards his room but before that, he had another stop to make.

'Ye voice badalne wali app bhi kamaal hai na. O ko pata bhi nahi chala ki main hoon.' (This voice changing app is great. O didn't realise it was me) Rudra sounded pleased with himself. 'Woh sab to theek hai Rudy par Prem Ratan?' (That's fine Rudy but Prem Ratan?) Anika, who was sitting on the bed next to him, asked. 'Arey bhabhi jaldi jaldi main mooh se nikal gaya.' (Bhabhi I couldn't think of anything in a hurry.) Rudra shrugged. Koi nahi. Waise bhi Om hindi filmien nahi dekhta,' (It's fine. Om doesn't watch Bollywood movies anyway.)Anika patted Rudra on the head.

'Rudy!' An angry looking Shivaay walked into Rudra's room. 'Kamaal ki acting ki na maine?. (Wasn't I amazing?), Rudra looked expectantly at his older brother. 'Ekdum ghatiya acting thi! Aloo Puri? You almost blew our cover.' (It was horrible) Shivaay smacked Rudra on the head. 'Jaane dijiye na Shivaay Om ko kuch pata nahi chala,' (Leave it Shivaay. Om didn't suspect a thing) Anika tried to salvage the situation.

'Aur Gauriji?' Shivaay asked, cocking an eyebrow. 'Woh bhabhi Barielly se hai na to maine socha thoda feel aayega (Bhabhi is from Bareilly so I thought it'll set the mood) Rudra said sheepishly. 'Waise Shivaay, aapne bhi kya planning ki. Aapko kaise pata tha ki Om Gauri ko call karne ko bolega?' (Shivaay you plan everything so well. How did you know Om was going to ask Gauri to call?) Anika cut them off.

'Pata to nahi tha par main SSO hoon. I cover my bases,' (I didn't know but I'm SSO.) Shivaay sat on the bed now. He had anticipated all possible scenarios and had bought Rudra a spare phone and when he saw Om cornering Gauri, all he had to do was send Rudra a SOS message and their plan would be set in motion.

'Haan aur jab bade bhaiya ne hume phone diya to Rudy bhaiya ka number screen pe hi tha,' (When bade bhaiya gave me the phone, Rudy bhaiya's number was already on the screen) Gauri, who had just walked into the room, took a seat next to Anika.

'To aage?,' (Now what?) Rudra asked. 'Aag to lag chuki hai, ab dekhte hai,' (We've lit the fire. Now let's wait and watch) Anika said.

Om sat on the bonnet of his car, taking the night sky in. The moon was barely visible. Om chuckled at the symbolism. What are you planning Gauri?' He said to himself. Om still wasn't convinced this Prem Ratan was real but he couldn't ignore it either lest he lost Gauri forever.
