Part Seven- Planning

Annika had been briefed. She could not recall all the details but was able to procure some of the necessary requirements of her role. Apparently she had answered an add from Malhotra Industries for the assignment.

Shivaay cringed when he came to know that Annika had to deal with Samar Malhotra for this case. He was pacing in an adjacent room until Bhaskar had Annika brought into the same room as him.

" Tuhme sab kuch yaad bhi nahin hai Annika. Kya tuhme kuch aur kuch yaad aaya humare baare mein?, he asked earnestly.

" Shivaay ek baat hai jo main kahbi nahin bhool sakti humare baare mein, she said softly.

Shivaay looked into her eyes carefully and he didn't realized when she threw the water in his space yet again.

He wiped his face with a hankerchief that Bhaskar himself offered him.

"Muhje nahin pata tha ki tum dono ka pyaar aisa hai, he commented.

Shivaay's expression was close to "do you want to be next, or should I just kill you with my bare hands look.

He gulped.

"Relax Mr. Oberoi. I have a comprise that may keep us all happy, he admitted.

Annika frowned at Shivaay's sudden change from upset to smug.

"Bolo Mr. Bhaskar, what is your plan?, Shivaay declared.

" You can have your team led by Khannaji and your sister-in-law Bhavya Oberoi watch over Annika if you believe she needs to have this extra so called security, he declared.

Annika was fuming.

" Shivaay yeh kya zidd hai? They will provide me everything I need. Besides only I signed the contract not you! Itni tadi theek nahin hai Mr. SSO!

Shivaay smiled.

"Jis din tuhmne marriage license pe sign kiya tha, woh mere liye ek contract se kam nahin tha. Meri shaadi kisse aur se hone wali thi, lekin Tia aur maine marriage license pe signatures saath mein nahin kiye the, Shivaay admitted.

"Kya kare hai aap? You had hired me as your wedding planner back then, she exclaimed.

The rest of the water in the glass landed on her face.

" When you decide to recall everything wifey, then what I told you will make sense. For now take a chill pill and let's focus on this mission, Shivaay declared.

Annika wiped her face down and glared at him. Why the heck had she agreed to marry this man and even if she was temporarily insane, why did he want her to stay with him so badly anyways?

Bhaskar cleared his throat.

"Since you two have cleared a few things up, I will bring you up to date on the plan, he said meekly.

The couple sat seated next to each other across from Bhaskar's desk.

" So this means she has to mingle with all these people? What about the points I brought up earlier?, Shivaay declared.

He knew how he treated Annika when they first met, but that was before he finally changed for the better than thought about anyone besides his own family members in a deep manner. He did not want her to relive the hell he had put her through the year before.

But then again it would bring her back to him possibly. They could find Chutki together after all this was over.

" Yes Mr. Oberoi, but she has you and your family to keep her aware. Also her role here makes her the best person for carrying out this work. She knows nothing of business and high society besides for what she has seen with the Oberois. You have kept her away from the media for most of your marriage so far. There have been some hiccups, but you may clear those after you find her sister and decide about your relationship, Bhaskar stated.

Shivaay sighed.

He knew it would be Annika's choice in the end. She was Jhansi ki rani for a reason. Raita usne phila hai, aur usko sampatna hai.

"Annika if you are going to follow through this, just remember you cannot get another head injury. You have to be careful, he admonished.

She looked at him carefully.

They did have some bitter moments but the reason she lingered in Oberoi mansion even after the times he had insulted her, was because of his inner kindness and consideration that he gave very few people in his life. For the times she could not recall, she knew one thing must have happened, he grew to care for her like he would one of his own.

"Theek hai. Mr. Bhaskar I will continue with the plan. Of course the accident was obstacle that delayed the progression of the mission. However I am fine now, so I am ready for the training and whatever it entails, Annika declared.

"Good Ms. Annika. You may return with Mr. Oberoi to Mumbai. I am sorry for cutting your vacation short but it's time to play our cards. We will start you off on your role in the next 48 hours. Mr. Oberoi if you have any questions, here is my card and of course work on your security details as you wish, he stated earnestly.

Annika hesitantly walked ahead of Shivaay out of the room.

Shivaay turned back to Bhaskar.

"Next time I appreciate a heads up before you barge into my time with my family or any of my property. This is the first and last time you are contracting my wife for anything, Shivaay declared.

Bhaskar gulped before quickly regaining his composure. Mr. Shivaay Singh Oberoi was a force to reckon with. He had to make sure everything went to plan otherwise not only would he lose his job, but the scion of the Oberoi clan would tear him up limb by limb he was sure of it.

The family was astonished to see Annika storming ahead of Shivaay into the mansion. They had returned much earlier than they all expected. They had all expected a message or call with bad or good news as to what Annika had decided. However they were greeted by not a clue as to what had exactly transpired between them.

Shivaay called his brothers and their significant halves into a conference and told the elders that they would be updated in a matter of time.

"Bhaiya I cannot believe Annika Bhabhi signed some contract like this!, Rudra declared.

"Shivaay Bhaiya, I will do some detailed research into this man. I hope it's not some old family enemy who is trying to harm Bhabhi, Bhavya declared.

" Shivaay, Annika's safety is of priority. Maybe we can consult the doctor and the lawyer. You said she herself can't recall anything, Omkara stated.

"Bhauji must have been so shattered to take this step. Lekin mujhe pata hai ki agar baat apno per aayi unko koi nahin rok sakta, Gauri lamented.

"You all have valid points but this is Jhansi ki rani, aka Annika. She won't give up so easily. Therefore I will have to let her do what she decided. However we will all protect her from harm. Then once Chutki is found, we can see what she has decided about our marriage, Shivaay stated.

" Don't worry Bhaiya. I am on it, Bhavya declared.

Shivaay went to talk to Khanna. Gauri went to check on Annika. Omkara and Rudra were left by the poolside together.

"O do you think Annika Bhabhi will stay with us after this mission is over? She is very upset with Shivaay Bhaiya, Rudra stated.

" Rudra, as far as I know Annika she will come back for Shivaay. If it was reversed I know Shivaay would be harder to convince. But Annika has cared for him long before he realized she was a far better girl than his assumptions. She has a big heart, if Shivaay works hard enough, she might stay. However no one should blackmail her this time. We should let her free will decide for her future with this family and especially with Shivaay, Omkara declared.

"Wow O, what a thoughtful speech. I just pray ki Bhaiya aur Bhabhi hamesha saath mein rahe aur khush rahe.

Omkara tapped his younger brother's shoulder lovingly. He hoped that is what fate planned for their family's happiness.

Gauri was lingering around the room as Annika got ready for her assignment. Today she was supposed to meet Samar Malhotra for the contract for this big event he was planning to hold. She came out wearing a white top and black skirt.

She felt uncomfortable of course. She never wore such tight fitted clothing before. Gauri's eyes widened at her bhauji's appearance. Bade Bhaiya wouldn't let her leave the house like this.

" Bhauji, yeh kya pehna hai aapne ne..

"Mere kapre biluk theek hai iss meeting ke liye, she feigned confidence.

"Nahin Bhauji, mere matlab hai ki agar Bade Bhaiya dekenge toh ..

"Kya, Shivaay? Tia hamesha aise kapre penhenti thi. Agar main hoon ya koi aur, kya farak padega?

Gauri quickly pressed the facetime on her phone. Thank goodness Rudy Bhaiya had taught her this the other day.

Shivaay smiled to himself.

Annika could try to leave him all she wanted. Suicide mission attempt or running away, he would find a way to keep her close each time.

His smile turned into enraged expression.

Annika was wearing this tight outfit to her meeting with Samar Malhotra. No way she was going alone if she stuck to wearing this outfit.

Shivaay had already disconnected the call by the time, Annika realized Gauri was paying more attention to her phone than what she was saying.

" Gauri kahaan dhyaan hai tumara? What should I wear if not this?, she asked.

Before she could reply to her sister-in-law, Sahil arrived with a ice cream.

"Sahil who gave you an ice cream at this time?, Annika asked.

"Maine khud liye, he muttered as he munched.

As he neared Annika, he winked at Gauri and mouthed SSO.

Gauri smiled.

So Jiju- saala had been bonding.

Annika stopped short when Sahil suddenly dropped the remaining ice cream cone on her black skirt.

"Oops sorry Didi. I guess I need a new ice cream now, he said nonchantly.

Annika glared at her brother in shock.

Before she could muster a reply he had already left the room.

Annika ended up wearing a cream long tunic and leggings. She sighed hoping this would work out.

She was asked to wait for a few minutes.

Annika was nervous when she finally was invited in to discuss her plans and she took copious notes as he made his suggestions.

He asked her to meet him at lunch next day to finalize a few details.

Annika nodded and leaned over to shake his hand.

He shook it and paused and looking her up and down.

She felt herself feeling uncomfortable.

"Kuch western penekar aana. It's a western theme. In fact since tomorrow we are having some members of the contracting company for this project, I will have you check the arrangements. This will be your test, he said firmly.

"Theek hai. I will wear Western tomorrow. I will get there early to ensure the settings are up to your caliber, she stated.

Annika turned to leave with a dread in her heart. What had she gotten herself into? But she had to find her chutki at any cost.
