Part Three

Tonight the oberoi mansion was glittering with beautiful lights. Everyone was very cheery as this party was in honour of the Oberoi Bahus. Everyone already knew that Anika was now Mrs. Shivaay singh Oberoi but no one knew that Omkara had also gotten married.

Anika helped gauri to get ready. She wore a navy blue saree with gold border and embroidery. She wore a heavy gold necklace, dangling earrings and completed the look with light makeup making her look elegant yet royal.

When gauri looked at herself she couldn't believe what she saw. The woman in the mirror looked beautiful and looked as if she belonged here, with the oberois.

"chalo gauri aaj tumhara din hai" saying this anika brings her down.

Omkara was fine now and more frustrated with all the festivities happening in honour of his wife. This was ridiculous, he didn't even consider her as his wife and his family was showering her with all the love. Omkara stood with his brothers when he saw gauri descending the stairs with anika bhabhi. He was awestruck for a moment, gauri was beautiful, it was as if as seeing her for the first time.

"chulbul bhabhi bahot sundar lag rahi hai na O, aap toh besharamo ke tarah ghoore jaa rahe ho" rudra teased om and he came out of his trance. "shut up rudra" om said and left and rudra wondered what happened to him.

As gauri finished descending the stairs, she was surrounded by the family. Jhanvi introduced her to her friends and business partners of oberois, everyone that was present.

The party went smoothly and gauri wondered where was om. She looked everywhere around her but couldn't find him. She became worried and thought maybe he was feeling sick again. Gauri excused herself and went inside towards om's room.

She went in but saw that there was no one in the room. She turned to leave when she saw something move at the window. She went there and checked but no one was there. Maybe she just hallucinated, she thought.

She checked the whole house but omkara wasn't anywhere. She went back to the party in the lawn and saw omkara with his brothers. She took a breath of relief and joined anika and other ladies.

Later that night, gauri woke up in the middle of the night and went to the kitchen as she was feeling thirsty. She was feeling uneasy, as if someone was looking at her. She had been feeling paranoid the whole night of the party. There was darkness everywhere and she looked around to see if there was someone but no one was in sight.

She reached the kitchen and took a glass and a bottle of water from the fridge. As she turned to leave she saw omkara standing with his back facing her.

"ye toh so rahe the fir yahan kab aaye" gauri thought to herself. she took tentative steps towards him "omkara ji?" she called but he didn't move at all. "omkara ji?" gauri called again but still he didn't move a muscle. She reached him, held his arm and turned him to face her. Gauri gasped when she saw a knife stuck in his stomach and blood oozing out of his wound. his expressions were of horror and soon gauri mirrored the same expressions. The glass she was holding, shattered on the floor and the bottle fell and water was spilled everywhere. She gasped and screamed as omkara fell on the floor.

Gauri woke up with a scream "omkara ji !! " when she opened her eyes she saw her arm was stretched forward and trying to grasp on air. She didn't realise that she was crying badly when om came to her and saw her crying.

Omkara shook her when she didn't respond to him calling her. She turned her head to look at him and started crying more as she hugged him. Omkara was confused and she was behaving very frantic. Gauri broke the hug and touched his stomach " aap thik toh hai na, aapko chot toh nahi lagi na?" gauri as she continuously checked him for injuries. omkara held her shoulders and brought some distance between them. "main thik hoon kuch nahi hua mujhe. Tum itna roo kyun rahi ho?" he asked and then wiped off her tears. "wo humne dekha ki.. aap...aap kitchen mein... aapke pait mein chaaku...khoon... chot" and she started crying again.

Om understood that she might have had a nightmare about him getting hurt. "gauri relax, bura sapna tha, main bilkul thik hun" he tried to console her and then stood up to leave. Gauri held his hand as he was about to turn "nahi aap kahan jaa rahe hain?"

"mai paani lene jaa raha hun ruko" he manages to get out of her grasp and moves to the water jug placed on the table but there was no water. He picked up the jug and started leaving the room.

"omkara ji?" gauri shouted his name. "kahan jaa rahe hain aap?"

"paani lene. Jug mein paani nahi hai" as soon as he said that gauri jumped to her legs and stood infront of the door, blocking his exit "nahi aap kitchen mein mat jaiye, hume paani nahi chahiye, hum thik hain. Bas aap kitchen mei mat jaiye" she pleaded with him.

"thik hai tum bhi chalo mere saath aur dekhlo ki kitchen mei koi nahi hai" omkara said and took her by her wrist towards the kitchen.

Gauri kept looking here and there in the darkness and then when they reached the kitchen she looked at the spot where he was standing in her dream then to assure herself that he was fine she looked at him standing next to her.

Silently working om filled up a glass of cold water and made her drink it. Then, he took her wrist and led her to their room "dekha kuch nahi tha. Main thik hun, tum thik ho aur mujhe bahot neend aa rahi hai toh ab soo jate hain" and he closed the door and got under the covers to sleep.

Gauri was still restless, it wasn't just the dream making her paranoid, it was the feeling that someone was watching them, watching her. She couldn't shake this off, she was feeling as if this was a sign that something was wrong.

This time she didn't sleep on the floor but sat on the couch and kept looking at omkara. She didn't realise when she fell asleep in the sitting position.

Omkara woke up to complete silence in the room, for a second he was confused because every day he woke up to gauri doing the morning pooja. He sat up and looked around to find gauri on the couch sleeping in a very uncomfortable position. He remembered last night when she was so worried about him. "does she really care so much about me or this is all some drama again?" he sighed thinking he won't every understand her. He go up and picked her up in his arms gently so she won't wake up. He slowly placed her on his bed and pulled the sheets to cover her. He kept looking at her and brushed he hair away from her face then left.

Later

"mann mei sanka lag gayi lanka, itni der ho gayi gauri jaldi tayyar ho, kitna saara kaam hai aaj, grah shanti ki pooja hai ghar mei." she talked to herself as she got ready for the day.

Gauri went downstairs and saw everyone was up already and so she went to the kitchen to look at the arrangements for the pooja. she was restless as she hadn't seen omkara since morning. "gauri?" gauri looked up to see jhanvi "om ka naashta garden mei bhej do." Jhanvi told her and left.

"hum khud hi le jate hain" gauri placed his breakfast in the trolley and took it herself. as soon as she saw omkara sitting with shivaay and rudra she relaxed.

"arre tum kyun lekar aayi ho breakfast kisi servant se keh deti" shivaay told her.

"vo bade bhaiyya, aadat ho gayi hai na. roz subah hum hi lekar aate hain inka naashta toh..." she trailed of started setting the table for omkara. She looked at him to see him staring back at her. After that, gauri just left without saying anything to him.
