And so it begins - The Many Labours of Shivvay Singh Oberoi.

Today he got his first taste of what it was to be the abandoned and orphaned Annika and that little knowledge managed to affect him so much??!!! Mr. Oberoi better step up his heart medications because there is much more intense, unbearable and unfathomable pain that is going to come his way in this quest that he has embarked upon. This is just a trailer he saw today - the picture is yet to come.

I seem to be the only one who is happy that he has not forgotten his NKK beliefs and just shed them overnight because he now cares equally for both NKK and Annika. I also seem to be the
only one happy that he is not sharing this investigation of her past with her.

Why am I happy that NKK still features very
largely in his life?

Because whether you believe it or not, it is because of this very same NKK that
he has started on his path of love, realization and redemption even without him
knowing it. We all want Shivvay to regret his actions, seek forgiveness and repent
but we do not want him to make the journey to do that.

Repentance is found after a lot of soul searching and change happens when that soul searching opens the eyes to the truth that lies hidden. Shivvay needs to dig into Annika's past to actually understand who she is and what made Annika - "Sirf Annika". Why is she
proud of that title and why does she keep insisting that that is who she is and
that is who she will always remain.

He will accept 'Sirf Annika' sans NKK only when he comes to really understand who and what Sirf Annika' is and her journey that made her that.

As he delves into her past, he is going to meet people like Mr. T.V. Bajaj who do not know Annika personally at all but are going to tell him the pain, humiliation, hardships
and the trauma's she has suffered all through her life. It is going to be a
very unbiased, unprejudiced and non-partisan group that will be doing this as
he encounters them on a one on one basis. Hence, he cannot claim that this
information has been tampered with or doctored for her benefit, so that she
receives his sympathy and apology.

He is going to feel every pang, bruise,humiliation and hurt that she felt growing up through these people's eyes because he is going to relive her childhood himself and experience what she only told him verbally . What she has told him is just a summary
of her life not the explicit details and the small minute truths that are going
to rip his soul into shreds. Shivvay has no idea that the quest he has embarked
upon is going to turn his life upside down not because of what he will find at
the end of that quest but because the journey itself has the as many lobours as
Hercules Labours had.

His reaction to the small recount of how and where Mr. Bajaj found Annika had him reeling with emotion and pain. What then is this man going to do when he journeys a little deeper
into her past? Imagining her tiny, lost, hungry and sick made him into this
over protective grizzly bear. So what then is he going to turn into when he finds
out what else this tiny girl suffered and most importantly, what events led to this tiny
girl turning into a lost orphan. That day, I know for sure, we are going to see
his third eye open.

Why am I happy that he is not sharing this investigation with her?

She need not know about this because this is HIS penance and HIS nightmare to live. It is his soul that issearching and dissatisfied with the good thing that has already been gifted to him. He wants more and is not happy with what he has. He needs to find that more and in his jounery to find that more he and he alone must encounter the Demons from her past.

Annika has no need for her past. She is happy with where she is and what she has. She has no need to make this painful journey. The person greedy for more needs to make that himself. If he takes her on this journey he is going to undo all the years of hard work that
she has put in to develop and grow into Sirf Annika" and that would irreversible
damage that he would cause.

Amazing, amazing post!

You are absolutely right. It's his journey to make. This is his repentance. Once he relives her nightmare through his eyes, he will make sure that she doesn't shed even a single drop of tear for the rest of their lives. That will be his repentance.

No you are not alone, I am happy too that he hasn't let go of his nkk bcoz like u said it is leading him to know what made annika who she is today!
I was thinking about the same things you have penned down in this post and I agree with each and every word
his journey would be delight to watch if executed well!
I'm excited for his reactions when he knows more n more about her hardships!
he will hopefully regret what he and his family has done to her i.e. added more to her pain and hardships
and and and it will be so exciting to watch billu doing what he does the best ;) that is pampering and protecting the people he truly loves!

... so am I ... I always wanted Shivvay to learn about Annika's past on his own and not go only by what she tells him. She being Annika would obviously tone it down and hide all the true pain and suffering from him because that is who she is. But when it is told from another who has witnessed it he would see the bare truth with all the details

Yes..i m also happy.. Shivay loves his Anika so much.. Can I get husband like him..??? Pretty please.. seriously after long time a male lead impressed me so much.. Otherwise i always make post to bash the char ... 😆

Only a small part of her past affected him so much.. What if somehow shivay is responsible fr this..?? Now shivay is turning 33.. And i dnt think anika is around 30 years old.. May be around 25 to 26.. So what if shivay was driving the car... Without license.. young age.. to prove that he can do anything.. And accident happened.. And oberoi's tried to hide it.. my god i cant imagine shivaay's reaction if it comes true.. 😲 😭

Reposting what I posted in Areyaar's post. May not be a direct response to your post Asya, just my collective thots abt nnk, shivaay and annika that all ..

I am very happy with the makers for handling NK&K and shivaay internal struggles realistically.

One cannot expect Shivaay to change overnight. The man himself says this to Annika right? I need time to change .. And the journey into that change, that refinement is what just started with the friday episode. I am not sure what is the confusion here.

This is Shivaay's journey. The journey where he will learn to balance his NK&K and his love for Annika.

There is no doubt in his mind that Annika is his wife. He is absolutely sure that whatever he discovers, his relationship with Annika will not change, ie change for the worse. He is absolutely sure, Annika is as permanent in his life as his life itself.

That is why at every step he takes towards, unravel Annika's past, he keeps asking himself

What difference does it make, from which khandan Annika is from? Annika is Annika.. but still his brain says, no I have to know her background, her past , what is she? Where is she from? I will not be peaceful until I know.

Is he prepared to face the worst? Yes absolutely! He knows what he ends up with may not be anything palatable for him but still he wants to know. That is shivaay.

And I have absolutely no issues with this.

Friday, we got see, two reactions from Shivaay ..

one a very happy , escstatic wala reaction, where he thinks Annika indeed is from a well known khandan and his struggles are over. He can now be at peace. His brain need not be always in the fighting mode, can be not at peace with his heart. Win win situation.

To me this was a very natural, realistic reaction. His happiness and his eagerness to move on with his life was what was reflected in the night scene.. He is holding back his emotions, his desires because of the constant conflict between mind and brain. Finally he is seeing some light. Now why is knowing Annika is from a good family makes it all easy? Because of oberois parampa, the rituals that they follow, the book of ancestry, and the fact that they are a very well inow public figure with high social status.

He has answers for all the above mentioned. So he can move on with his life with Annika.

Second reaction : was of pain. I did not see disappointed in his eyes. I saw immense pain. He was deeply affected to hear the hardships that Annika had faced as a yound chikd of just 7-8 years old.

At that moment, I donot think her NK&K even entered his thots. This emotional state is how he comes face to face with her at home. In my mind, i think, what shivaay saw is not Annika the woman but Annika the young child, who is suffering from hunger, thirst, and what not.. His hug was a very protective one. The one where he just wants to take all her pain away. Keep her well fed, sheltered and comfortable.

Even in the precap I see his protectiveness, not shame or anger.

Shivaay is hiding the fact , that he is digging into her past from her, because he does not want to hurt her and because this is his need nothing to do with thier relationship persay

Looks like he may have come to a dead end with Mr Bajaj story leading him back to the orphanage.

The only lead he can follow now is the Temple and surroundings that Mr Bajaj mentioned.

Annika has always been his savior, his strength and his support system. Knowingly or unknowingly.

I have a feeling even in this journey of his Annika will lead him to the answers that he is seeking again knowingly or unknowingly.

Is Annika expecting him to change his ideologies? Is she expecting him to give up his NK&K ? The way I understood is, Annika is saying again and again that I donot have any NK&K. Will you be able to accept me without it? Would you still consider me your wife? She is not asking him to change, but he is offering her the change. Shivaay asked from her time, Time to change his thots.. And Annika is prepared to wait. Wait forever if required for she know there is no future if he is not prepared to accept her without nk&k .

Promo, to me is just highlighting the internal struggle that Shivaay will continue to go thru. Annika asking him, why he cannot accept her , why is it imp to know what her nk&k is , is a symbolic representation of his mind v brain struggle.

Yes Annika is going to be upset that Shivaay is digging her past, its important for him to know her brackground to find a closure , to deal with his mind brain conflicts.

This ideology clash between then was established in the initial episodes itself.

Where he asks for the surname and where she just claims to be just Annika.

I feel there is more to her wanting to be just Annika. She was 7-8 yrs old girl when she and her sister were taken to an orphanage. She was seen roaming in tbe roads, with her sister. At that age , considering she has much younger sibbling, would she know who her parents are? Atleast who her mother is? Either she has lost the memories of her life pre orphanage due to the trauma or she is willing herself not to remember her parents. She is shown to have nightmares abt her sister. Does she think her sister is dead? Is that why she is not looking for her? Considering how she is always ready to investigate into matters to find a closure ( so like shivaay), I could only conclude she thinks her sister is dead.

Anyway sorry to digress, My take, is Annika is not expecting shivaay to change and she is not refusing to change either. She is just iterating the fact that, she is a nobody. She has no nk&k. He cannot expect that to change as it will not..

But i will not be surprised, in the coming episodes, seeing shivaay struggling to come to terms with her background, Annika opens up to him and talk to him about her past, her parents even, that is if she remembers, this helping him to pursue his journey into her past..

Like shivaay, annika cannot see him in pain.

I am all excited to watch upcoming episodes. I just hope makers will continue giving us meaningful episodes like they did last week

Thank you Love. Thank you. After reading this post I went and deleted the 700 word essay I was typing furiously on this very same thing. The path to redemption for this man must be a lonely one filled with her thorns. He must walk in her past, along this path of memory because Anika is aleady redeemed, this path is already in her past, it is already covered with her bloody footsteps. She doesn't need his sympathy, she is not a hungry, lost, lonely child anymore. She has not only won, she has won HIM. Without trying she has already won his entire heart and soul. And he has her. He already has her safe, in his house, on his bed, being fed with his own hands.

And it STILL won't be enough. It still won't wipe clean her experiences. Now, with all his naam khoon and khandaan Anika's obsessed, manic, overprotective husband won't be able to fix her old wounds. He will now bleed over every last one of them. Fierce pride for her will only occur when he knows what it cost her to sit before him today, smiling, strong and so very precious.

He needs to bleed now-- vicariously, helplessly, like she did for years and years until she learned to fight. He needs to see what it costs to become sirf Anika. He needs to fall to his knees in gratitude that she chose HIM, not feel all proud because he rescued her and has accepted her. I'm glad this got posted because I didn't get a lot of the posts either, the ones made by ladies I adore. Because I needed my friends to SEE what is happening to Shivaay right now-- first the easy victory, then the triumphant fact checking, the win shining in his eyes had to end exactly like this. With this sudden, slap across the face. This ugly, painful , tragic beginning to her story. And it hurt...

Because Shivaay Singh Oberoi always wins He believed for a full day he even won over Fate, such is this man's natural arrogance. And why not? Mahi said it. Golden man. Ram Bhagwan. Things haven't ever been hard for this man. His delight at his easy victory needed to happen so the reality of her truth, her fathomless pain could hit that much harder. His empathy for her-- which he can't even tell her about because she will be hurt by it-- it has to overcome his natural disdain for the people like her, like Mahi.

And the only way this man will cure himself of NKK is this way. The hard way. Where he is helplessly reliving horrors he has never even thought about in his 32 years of perfect life. Never known hunger, fear, rejection. And now he will. Through her. He will suffer because his other half has suffered all this and he loves her too deeply not to feel what she feels-- even if she no longer feels these things, there was once a time when she did. And for a man this crazily in love, this protective by nature, that's a sort of failure. He wasn't there to protect her. And his rage, his helpless rage that this happened, he can't erase it by force feeding her today for her starvation when she was eight. And still he tries, yeah? Because -- the worst part is-- being Shivaay Singh Oberoi cannot stop this pain of knowledge. It has to hurt. His imagination has to burn him alive. His own words to her, his own casual cruelty and hurtful games have to shame him. This is redemption without distance.

I think it's essential for Anika to not know for another reason. She won't want his sympathy and that's normal. But also--- she will feel badly about how much he's hurting too. She will try to minimize her own past and the horrors of it to save him from dealing with it. From having a breakdown over it, from needing to go backwards in time, to fix it. And I don't want that.

Feel it, Shivaay. Feel it ALL.

Such a great post!! I absolutely love it...

Shivaay's redemption journey has truly begun now.

When Shivaay was being so happy that Anika has NKK, it irked me no end ( I know it's who he is and there would be no story without it, but his NKK obsession gives me major michmichis) but i was also happy. Firstly because now we know how deeply he wanted Anika to have NKK and secondly I knew his happiness would not last ( yes sadistic me) . The happier he is, the deeper his despair will be when he learns of the truth.

What I was not prepared for , was to feel bad for shivaay when Mr. Bajaj told him the truth. The anger and despair in Shivaay's eyes on what his Anika had endured was beautifully portrayed by NM.

Yes, he was sad that Anika is not Anika bajaj, but he was also sad to hear about her painful childhood. Which one was stronger? Slowly as he learns more and more about her struggles, NKK is going to get weaker. But it is going to be a slow and painful process, for shivaay and for us the viewers too. And I am glad Anika is not part of the process. She doesn't need to relive her past. She just needs to receive all the love, caring pampering that Shivaay can give.

We better fasten our seat belts for the roller coaster ride ahead. We will feel sick in the stomach several times I am sure...but the highs will be worth it.

PS: me thinks when his third eye opens is when the much awaited separation happens. His NKK will be at its fag end, but Anika will somehow be collateral damage from his anger .

I have been waiting for his upcommence since the day he threw her into jail unnecessarily and let her stay there for the night!! Had given up hope, but episodes like these give me hope.

But I will be crying with him.
