Shivaay-Anika's situation has now reached a pretty strange turn of events with the stakes suddenly rising sky high😆.

Let's recap a bit because the writers like to spin our heads so much that everyone loses track of where we even started with all this. A week back, Anika supposedly decided that enough was enough and it was about time that SOMEONE raised the stakes in trying to bring down the NBs...and so comes about a plan to fake a memory loss and REALLY go the distance in convincing EVERYONE that you are now nothing but an empty vessel repeating back anything that is said to you😆...Kisine bola Kalavati, toh tum Kalavati, kisi ne bola tum uski patni, toh tum uski patni...kisi ne bola pati parmeshwar hai, toh you repeat that line till our ears bleed...uptill that point it was still a battle of wills, with Shivaay alternating b/w exasperation and basically threatening Anika to keep her crazy antics in check.

Cut to this week...all of a sudden, the stakes have risen very high for Shivaay also😆...He is feeling OH so sorry about Anika ki HAALAT that suddenly he's found the courage to relatively stand up to Mrs. K also😆...just 3 weeks back when Mrs. K blackmailed him about throwing Anika out, his "solution" was to manhandle Anika into attending Lohri celebrations😕😆.

But today all of a sudden, he is INSTANTLY on the verge of confessing love...not once, but TWICE😆...why? Because Anika ki HAALAT itni kharaab jo hai...and they are being ASSAULTED from all sides by Pinky ka bhaashan ya Mrs. K ka blackmail...is sab ke beech mein "empty vessel mind" Anika has decided to press him on questions about the status of their relationship in such a pointed manner😆

I wonder, was this the right time or right forum to go in this direction? This Anika that supposedly has lost her memory for real as the writers are trying SO hard to push, this Anika wants answers about her place in Shivaay's life NOW? 😆...that too under the guise of endless "Tia ke bacche ka baap" rant? 😆

It is testament to what a ROYAL KHICHDI the writers have cooked up when Anika point by point enunciates just how screwed up her situation with Shivaay is and 'rationalizes' the obvious conclusion that he marry Tia😆...lol was it meant to be emotional or endearing? Instead, I found myself feeling largely tired and unmoved😆...partially because I really don't think this was the time or place for Shivaay to suddenly be on the verge of a love confession or for Anika to be casually tossing out pyar at him😆

Didn't this very Anika claim 3-4 weeks back that she can't even imagine that he'd be capable of loving her? 😆 That she can't even DEAL with the possibility of ever actually having him in her life?

So what does all this vapid questioning achieve now? In the middle of an already existing memory loss mess, we now have this turn of events...frankly the execution is just not working for me...there is an emotional disconnect despite all the pertinent questions that Anika brought up today.

Most of today's events were repeated...Mrs. K blackmailing Shivaay again, Pinky ranting about Shivaay having changed, Shivaay mumbling something about Anika ki haalat, Anika (being mahaan EVEN in memory loss mode😆) giving lectures on ghar ka beta, bacche ka baap😆

Things picked up slightly in the last scene but Anika's "mujhe kuch yaad nahin" dialogue has become beyond tiresome for me...Shivaay talking about ehsaas and whatnot was also strange to me for some reason😆...didn't feel believable coming in at this point...or perhaps it is my annoyance with this vapid mode of Anika that doesn't let me enjoy anything.

Saving grace...him not signing the divorce papers wasn't a mirage...lol he atleast remembers that...but as usual the whole thing is a mess cuz he can't tell Anika anything...just that she is very important for him😕😆...non-memory loss Anika hoti toh woh puchhti ki why is he so shocked that she is asking him to marry Tia...he himself declared this very thing from the very beginning...that he will divorce Anika and marry Tia...lol

This is all getting too convoluted to muddle through now...even for me😆...story needs to move or Anika's memory loss mess needs to be fixed.

Bahut lambaa khel chalaa rahe hain dono Shivaay aur Anika...lol...Anika's long game is to trap the NBs and Shivaay's long game is to just keep Anika around...shouldn't these two intentions flow better together rather than moving at odds with each other in a strange muddle? 😕😆

I liked today's episode. After the emotional yet humorous episode from yesterday, I didn't know what to expect from today's episode. But it was yet another surprise. And I mean it in a good way. The poignant conversations between Shivaay and Anika was much needed, and I appreciated it (a bit too much, Sighhh).

The Family

Let me get this bitter thing out of the way before I relish the sweetness of the episode. The family. This is the most classless family I have ever seen. I am surprised that all the kids grew up to be such nice ones. Don't get me wrong, SSO has his own issues (as do the others), but they have class and seem far more cultured than their weak and ineffective parents. I am even willing to understand the frustrations of them all. Tej is upset because he thinks Anika leaked the RumYa wedding footage to the press. That is his beef with her. Pinky thinks Tia is carrying her son's child and wants to make sure that baby's interests are protected. She is frustrated that her son seems to be ignoring his responsibilities because of this girl. She also cannot handle the attention sharing. Shakti is plain frustrated with all the tensions in the family and wants to be done with it. But guys, the girl is standing right there. You cannot go on talking about her and calling her mad when she has lost her memory because Shivaay pushed her off. I want to give these people the benefit of doubt (even though I don't understand their problem), but give me something to work with. Gosh, they were terrible. And the worst of all was daadi. Wedding promises? Seriously? And she is also talking like Anika is ill or something. Could she just not ask them all to have some decency and discuss it in a civil manner? Good heavens woman!

Anika

Anika in her Kalavati avatar does not know that Shivaay has signed the divorce papers. After his act of consoling her yesterday, Kalavati should have expected anything but the divorce papers. Her shock and surprise when she found out that it was indeed the truth was very convincing. I loved how she walked away without saying anything. I plan to analyze the pool side scenes separately and am hence not going to talk about it here. But Anika is on to something and could not leave OM at this stage. Not even with Shivaay. So, she had to stop them from leaving somehow. And she chose to do it by informing everyone in the family about Shivaay's intention. How she did it is beyond me. But I am willing to look past it.

Shivaay

Loved him to bits. His fight against everyone to protect Anika, his willingness to take on anyone to keep her by his side, his change in tone depending on who it is that is talking to him, his shock when he finds out Anika informed everyone in the family about him wanting to take her away... everything was so beautiful and spot on. NM did such a good job. I agree with his latest tweet. Today's episode was real, honest & pitch perfect

Pool Side scenes

Scene 1

The pool side has become Anika's favorite spot. Whenever in any confusion she sits there. The minute Shivaay came in, he held her hand, and he held it so tight as if to assure her that he is not leaving her. And her innocent statement - So you are going to leave me, and his heart breaking so many times at his inability to make her see his side of the story... so good. I loved how Shivaay tried to convince her that everything would be alright and that he would take care of her and her interests, their trademark Pinky promise. Loved it. In the moment, his need to take her away from all this and protect her from the same family that he is willing to die for spoke so much. In a way he acknowledged that his family may be important to him, but she is more important. He would protect her even from that family that he loves dearly... so touching. I am not a supporter of what Shivaay did during the wedding track or how he treated Anika in the beginning, but it is endearing to see this man having come this far. Just like Anika, I believed everything Shivaay said. Just like Anika, I submitted to Shivaay's will. He was so effective in this scene. Loved him.

Scene 2

Not only did his Anika not side with him, she also asked him to marry Tia. He was losing his semblance and was holding on to the last of his sense by the last strand, and all he wanted to hear was why. Him urging her to remember the eshaas if not the memories was touching. Loved the way Shivaay touched her head to indicate the loss of memory but his heart when he acknowledged that things that happen in the heart are never forgotten. But as powerful and touching as his performance was in this scene, it was her questioning him that impressed me the most. What is our relationship? What does it mean to you? What do I mean to you? If it is shaadi, it will end with divorce; If it is love, you have never told me you love me. You just tell me that I am important to you.. why am I important to you? Why?

Today I thought Anika asked the right questions. Shivaay had all the answers. If only he chose to spoke... If only!

NB's

For once Svetlana said something that I cannot refute. Shakti, Pinky and Priyanka will get out on 0. If you think about it, their plan is actually quite good. They have managed to eliminate almost everyone by playing with their weaknesses. But there is one batsman still at the crease... ANIKA. And she will pull a Dhoni stunt and clear all boundaries.

Complaints (Of-course I have some)

1. The execution of their leaving away trip and how Anika informed the family was done poorly. It felt like Shivaay was with her at all times...

2. Pinky, enough with the womb thing already. So what if you carried him. I said this before too.. it is not like Shivaay asked you to. And it certainly does not mean you know him the best!

3. I understand that for Anika to remain in her Kalavati character she has to believe it. But I am so annoyed with the bachche ka baap jaap. Priti says Mein haat jodti hu, baksh do mujhe. And I don't want to separate a son from his mother? Really? Priti says - Meri maa chup karna yaar 😆. He is a big boy and make his own decisions. I understand that she had to do it to continue staying in OM, but the dialogues... come on!

Doubts

1. Anika wants to and has to stay in the house if she has to expose Tia (and Svetlana). I am convinced that this is all still a plan and she is following an idea. But then, how would urging Shivaay to marry Tia and move out of OM help? Was she counting on the fact that Shivaay would stop her?

I had secretly hoped that Anika got pissed off and annoyed with the entire family throwing so much hate at her for no reason and forced Shivaay to marry Tia so she could find an escape from this madness... If only, if only...

Exactly!! I did find it moving though because all the questions were very pertinent and had to be put out there but why under the guise of this memory loss? That was my problem. All through the conversation, I was like why can't the real Annika minus memory loss be asking all this? It would have much better results. Now, all these questions will be forgotten once the truth about the ML is out. Billu will most probably make it about his trust and his emotions and these questions will again be left unanswered.

Very true! There's a huge disconnect between that Annika and this Annika! Going by the assumption that this memory loss is fake, and Annika knows there's no future for her and Shivaay because of his NKK, what is she hoping to achieve with these questions? His confession? So has she changed her mind about their love equation? She thinks its possible now? They could have at least shown her thought process. But they won't obviously because they are so hell bent on making this ML look real!!

@bold: This I could understand! He's desperate and is trying everything possible for her to remember. But as usual he didn't really pursue it. Became all defensive and unapproachable. What's the harm in telling her that he doubts Tia's intentions and that he and the real Annika were together in trying to expose her, thus, she should give him some time.

Hahaha seriously! As an isolated episode, I really enjoyed it. It had real conversations and Billu shutting up Tej which I loved 😆 but in the larger context, very disconnected.

COPY-PASTING MY MAIN POST HERE

First, the NBs. I won't spend too much time here. If they weren't so stupid, I could almost have laughed at the NB sisters when they basically called Anika dumb. Oh, how wrong they are. With her ML drama, Anika has made them believe she is one of them. She might no know they're sisters, yet but she's definitely figured out there's a link.

Also, she's figured out that Tia is the weakest link. She feels lonely and outcast from her family because of Robin and Anika has posed to her as the only on who understands her pain, her feelings and her love for Robin. I'm guessing the NBs downfall will be due to Tia.

Moving on to Anika's second and biggest problem, Shivaay.

With her ML drama, Anika has trapped Shivaay into an almost catch-22 situation. I've said elsewhere on this forum that Shivaay doesn't feel the need to name this relationship as long as Anika is with him. Even to himself, Shivaay doesn't explain this ehsaas, because Anika is in front of him, in his house, his bedroom and with the way he blackmailed her, coupled with Anika's own love for him, he never felt she would leave.

Until now. The ehsaas is gone. Anika is no longer compelled to stay by him because she feels for him. She's explcitly said she doesn't remember. The nightmare of Anika walking out on him is becoming a reality and Shivaay is panicking. With her memory loss serving as an infallible defense tactic, Anika's asked Shivaay to choose. NOW.

She refuses to be the other woman. He can't marry Tia. He can't explain the divorce. He's afraid to admit he didn't sign the papers because that would lead to further questions. He can't blackmail her because a) Anika doesn't remember - and therefore, might not feel for, anyone, anymore and b) he really doesn't want to fall that low now that she's forgotten the pain. (although I still don't completely trust him on that front). She's basically asked him all the questions she otherwise couldn't have. Shivaay would've just gone "kyon? tumhain kia faraq padta hai?" and the discussion would end.

With the fake ML drama, Anika's engineered a situation where Shivaay's only way out is to confess. Tell her he loves her and that's why she can't leave.

But then, Shivaay threw a curve ball. Was this a part of Anika's plan? We may not find out until the ML is revealed as fake. Either way, it'll work out in Anika's favor

There's no way Shivaay is marrying Tia. So he'll have some explaining to do, regardless. Also, this is the perfect method to bring Robin out from hiding.

Anika's basically killing two birds with one stone. She's back.

Also, adding something I though would be too controversial for main forum; NM's acting. While it was good, I wish he'd portrayed the hidden pain a bit more. Glad he wasn't stammering but still dialogue delivery could've been better. SC on-point as usual.

WORD to that!! I usually feel for Shivaay and Annika, but in the first scene it was just amiss.

I liked the episode, but story wise, wth was it? We've had the ML be a comedy but then Annika goes into this deep mood and starts questioning him. I liked all the questions she shot at him, but why at this point?

And why did Billu almost blurt out "main tumse..." Memory loss has become a mess and even more the OLV's are killing so much of the actual scenes. It's really been only a week or something and I'm just like why? Not more please, can't handle it. Why cant they get rid of Tia and let Svetlana mess with them? There is so much more they can do😕

And honestly how many times are we gonna have to see the whole ShiTia wedding crap? It was fine before but at this point, its annoying. It's recycled material from this very show.
