Firstly, I am aware that Sahil is a kid and I am in no way defending Shivaay's behaviour towards Anika. Having said this, what Sahil did was also unacceptable.
When has it become a right for a child to be rude towards an adult?
Let's forget about the words spoken by Sahil for awhile, how many of us will tolerate if a child throws things at us, almost on our face? Sahil did that. Shivaay, for some reason, did not retaliate. Sahil called Shivaay childish, i believe throwing things on an adult can be considered childish too, fyi.
Let's not get into the stance that his action is excusable just because he is a child. Ever since his entry, he has more or less acted like an adult, thought like an adult, and even spoke like one. If the CVs expected us to believe a small child can have so much of maturity, then we can also expect him to not act childishly and be the mature kid that he is supposed to be which definitely could not be seen last night.
Supporting and protecting a sister is one thing and being arrogant, rude and ill mannered is another. A child raising their hand against an elder, how many in real life would tolerate this behaviour? Not me for sure, and i believe it is a behaviour condoned in many households.
This leads to the next question that will be asked by elders. What kind of upbringing did the child get? Sorry to say Sahil, but you just made the entire world point their fingers at your sister and made them question her upbringing. You may have done it in anger or frustration because of the injustice done to your sister, but raising your hand on an adult is still not acceptable in our culture or tradition. Even your sister values her culture and tradition by staying on in a love-less marriage because of her respect for elders and culture. What you did was unacceptable. I would have honestly felt your pain if you had vented out your anger and frustrations if you had cried and as an adult that you believe you are, and brought your sister away from the injustice done to her. Raising your hand on an adult left a bad taste that made me feel bad for Shivaay who was still humane enough to accept your beatings without retaliating. At a point of time, i even wanted Shivaay to yell stop and to throw you out of his house. When a child behaves bigger than his age, he should be treated the same way. Lucky for you Sahil, Shivaay did not become SSO.
I have seen a lot of people bashing Shivaay, saying that he is evil and a devil reincarnated and he deserves it. But the great SSO did not resort to what a child who thinks of himself as an adult did. He did not raise his hand nor his voice at Sahil, is that not worth mentioning? SSO still had the presence of mind, maturity and upbringing to be tolerant of a child and his behaviour. Kudos to you SSO for keeping your calm in this situation. I am sure raising Rudra helped you here 😉 Anika you also did well by stopping Sahil. Thank you for that even though it was a tad too late. The damage Sahil's actions caused was done.
I still am questioning why you still seek acceptance in a loveless marriage and from a man who doesn't treat you as his wife. Why darling why? You were once a proud, strong woman who took no s*** from anyone and stood your ground, demanding dignity and respect in everything that you do. Yes, culture and upbringing plays a huge role in your decision to stay in OM, but don't you have a responsibility towards Sahil too. Be the sister he can be proud of. Other than Dadi and Shivaay's brothers, no one supports you in OM. Seeking acceptance in a household where you will always be considered as an outsider is doing injustice to oneself and now with Sahil too in the house, who will respect you? Show Sahil you can be strong even when faced with obstacles. You can live your own life with respect and dignity, without the Oberoi's name attached to you. Show Shivaay you are a lady of today's age who cannot be broken by him. You are too strong for that. Show girls that you can live without a husband. Show girls that a man is not needed to live your life the way you want to. Living alone is better than living in a loveless marriage. Dadi is not living your life my dear, you are. How long can dadi support you? After that? It is your life right. Break free and show Sahil what is the meaning of self-respect for a girl. Come on girl, you can do it!
Dear Dadi this is specially dedicated to you. When Om raised his hand against Tej, his own father, weren't you the one who gave such a long speech on respect, upbringing and thinking. Today, an outsider raised his hand, or rather crutches, against your favourite grandson and you just kept quiet watching the entire scene unfold. When did others become more important to you than your own grandsons? If you condoned Om's behaviour on the grounds that he was younger and in your household respecting elders is customary, Sahil beat Shivaay. You kept quiet. So it is right. You defended your son but could not defend your grandson. Wow dadi. You amaze me every single time.
