Completely agree with your post.

If she was actually majboor and doing this because she had no other option, then she would've been more ashamed since she and her family had erred. But, she lashed out once the word parvarish escapes Om's mouth. Her father and her sister are as much into this game as she is, so Om bringing her family in was not out of bounds. Her bringing in his family was. It's not like Om needs to be shown the mirror about the truths of his dysfunctional family. He knows how his family members' ideologies better than Ishana and has had several disagreements with Shivaay concerning the same. He chooses to stay away from the family business because of the same reason. Plus, her targetting Shivaay for being calculative in business was just how is one supposed to run a profitable business by thinking with their heart? Whereas she was the one being conniving and trying to play with someone's emotions. And Rudra has never forced himself on any girl, their interactions have always been mutual. Whereas it was she who was forcing her entry in Om's life. So what leg does she have to stand on with these accusations? Also, why dump his father's mistakes on him? Anyways, if she had just said all this to hurt him then she needn't have started her majboori raag again.

The writers need to decide whether to make Ishaana a proper grey character or a majboor aurat who has no option other than to con people. I found today's scene quite inconsistent. If they are trying to show that she is grey and said all those things in a combative mode, then she shouldn't have tried to justify her majboori. She should've just finished her rant on his family and dipped without a care about what he would think of her. Her reiterating her majboori is what really put me off. Was it not just the other day when she gleeful about the RidhKara breakup and the money she will be minting from the con? The happiness on her face then certainly didn't look like majboori to me.

Agree with everything you mentioned in your post. Last night confrontation was supposed to be intense, serious but it come out childish from her side. It was an immature tit for tat. You hurt me now i will hurt you kind of thing.
He said bad about her upbringing but didn't brought her family members in between, she could have defended herself without dragging ShivRu and Tej. When Om said no one has ever pointed a finger at Shivaay, she knew she was losing she brought Tej and his scandalous life into the argument.

I tried giving a chance to her character, but after last night i can happily continue to skip her scenes.

Thank u for making this post. I feel like someone calmed my burning soul. Ishana & her father r moral less people. Sure we r all flawed but there is a fine line no one crosses. When Om only mentioned that such doings r due to bad upbringing, Ishana had the audacity to insult all the family members in detail.
I know Indian cvs are quite stubborn. They mostly write the show that they find befitting but this time I really hope they can steer away from this character and bring a new girl in Om's life.

And on being a truly ruthless grey character that many here wanted

If ever Ishana's character has been truly grey then she would :

1. Feel ashamed that she has failed , abandon Om and search for a new target.

2.Look Om straight in the eye and tell him that yes this is my life and i need to offer no explanations to you. If you have been gullible ,its your fault. So spare me your lectures.

2. Try and trap him again with her tales of majboori , make him feel guilty for his privileged upbringing and lo you are back in the game.

Glad to know that I am not the only one who feels NOTHING for Ishana. It's such a poorly written character for whom the makers are probably trying to rake in sympathy but then the last night confrontation ruined it all, at least for me !!

Not a fan of the actress but was intrigued over the hype around her. Unfortunately, the character and the actress disappointed me like anything!!!

Hello 😊

I am typing this from my tab so, sorry for any typos, dear. I'll keep it short.

First of all, just because we want a grey character means we cannot complain when said character does something stupid? Even if she had been what is considered grey (because, as I mentioned in my post, Ishana is flawed but please, she is not grey, that is a joke) and had done what Ishana did in the last episode, I would have criticised her.

The comparison to Anika does not happen because I want her to be like Anika, as I again mentioned in my post, but because Ishana kept harping nonsense about how poor people don't have a choice and cannot be honest - we don't even have to go to real life to prove her wrong, the example is already in the show. That's the only reason why comparisons are bound to happen - her justification was lame.

As for the apologizing part - she didn't do that 'cause she necessarily accepted she was wrong otherwise, she wouldn't have immediately started to justify herself. Hadn't she brought up poor and rich and family name, Om wouldn't have retaliated, either. And as others mentioned, had she done her research properly, she would have known what to say and what not to say in this situation.

Also, as for the part where she "utters some truths" - what new thing did she exactly tell him? Those dialogues were all sorts of messed up which makes her lashing out like this look even less understandable. I mean, the Ashok incident - Om was the one unhappy with how that was handled, he and Shivaay even fought over it. Whatever she told him, Om is not "blind" to it - what does she think why the guy isn't involved in the family business? Why he doesn't want to be associated with the Oberoi name? It looked even lamer because Ishana and her family were in the wrong; had the Oberois done something to her personally or had Om been really blind to all of this and blindly loved and defended his family her dialogue might have been digestible. Heck, he didn't even say anything when she brought up Tej because unlike her, he can call out his father on his mistakes and knows that Tej is wrong, he only lost it when she said he would end up like him. (On this note, Shivaay didn't look guilty when she brought him up, unnecessarily, and even Rudra looked more uncomfortable/hurt than guilty, imo. They didn't have any real reason to be guilty, after all.)

The execution was just... bad, imo. Justifying her actions because she is poor and then, her "uttering of truthts" which was nothing new to Om made it look all kinds of messed up. To me, she didn't react like a grey character but a wounded cat who couldn't take it to be called out on her errors and thus, had to throw mud on others to feel better. Whether it was in character or not, I have no idea because as of now, I don't know what her character is like.

Thanks for your comment, though. Guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one 😳

Oh no, I don't expect someone to appreciate or agree with the grey character, I just meant that she was in character. Grey or negative characters are always criticized, nothing wrong in it, my point was that when we wanted a grey shaded character and today she just did that then why do we expect her to be like Anika by not dragging the family and justifying her. Thats how her character is suppose to be. Till now her character was just a spoof of grey character or conwoman but yesterday's second-half of confrontation, i.e. after the majboori sob story, she got into the character.

About the poverty being majboori to con, I already made it clear that I agree with all your 4 points.

About truths, yes everybody knows it and that's what she wanted to tell it to Om that everybody knows how righteous Oberois are and he has nothing proud to be his family just like her. Om isn't like typical Oberois, he fought with Shivaay for media censoring of Ashok's suicide but yet we can't deny that he is the part of Oberoi family, he didn't do anything about it other than having an argument about Shivaay and Ishaana didn't speak about Om there, she spoke about the whole Oberoi family. They haven't done anything to her personally, but lashing out at them will hurt Om and put him in a fix, that's what she wants.

A wounded cat who doesn't like to called out on her errors and justifying that she is right even though morally her actions are wrong isn't the bery characteristic of being grey?? This makes me wonder what exactly is a grey character according to you? If she accepted her mistake, didn't lash out at his family, wouldn't it be a good character? And she is not supposed to be good.

Bang on post dear👏
Agree with each and every point you've mentioned
Ishana's character is messed up😆 I guess the writers were high while drafting her character😆I love grey characters but Ishana isnt grey but flawed...What was the need to bring emotions and a sob story just to justify her when she was caught ?? I mean wasnt she the one who conned OmRu into buying a car... planned to breakup RidhKara so that she could enjoy Om's money...keeps singing paisa paisa bank balance all the time😕Why looking like a majboori aurat now ? One more thing what was the need to bring Shivaay Rudra and Tej in the conversation ? I simply ddnt like her dig at ShivRu.. they had nothing to do in this. There was no need to drag them into this just to justify herself.
