After opening like a storm, Dhurandhar 2 saw its first slowdown on day 2, but the pace is still nothing short of explosive. The Ranveer Singh led action sequel continues to dominate screens and conversations alike.
The film collected Rs 80.72 crore on Friday, proving that even a dip cannot shake its grip on the box office. With numbers like these, the film is not just sustaining momentum, it is rewriting what a second day drop looks like.
Day 2 dip arrives but dominance stays intact
A fall of 21.3 percent from its massive opening day of Rs 102.55 crore was always expected. Yet the real story lies in how strong the film remains despite that decline. With an overall occupancy of 62.6 percent across India, theatres are still packed.
The film ran across 20,125 shows on Friday, maintaining a wide reach that continues to pull audiences in. Most films would struggle after such a huge opening, but Dhurandhar 2 seems to be playing by its own rules.
Hindi version leads the charge in a big way
https://youtu.be/NHk7scrb_9I?si=rbU5539o2vYHoFyOThe Hindi version is clearly the backbone of this success story. Out of the Rs 80.72 crore collected on day 2, a staggering Rs 78.94 crore came from Hindi alone. The occupancy stood at an impressive 64.3 percent across 19,025 shows.
This kind of dominance shows how strongly the film has connected with the core Hindi belt. The scale, star power and mass appeal are translating directly into ticket sales, making it one of the most commanding Hindi performances in recent times.
Regional markets stay steady but limited
While the Hindi numbers are roaring, the regional versions are playing a quieter role. The Telugu version collected Rs 1.30 crore with 35.0 percent occupancy from 700 shows. Tamil added Rs 0.44 crore with 27.0 percent occupancy across 356 shows.
Kannada and Malayalam markets remained largely subdued. Kannada brought in Rs 0.03 crore with 45.0 percent occupancy from 20 shows, while Malayalam managed Rs 0.01 crore with 13.0 percent occupancy across 24 shows.
These numbers highlight a clear trend. The film is overwhelmingly driven by its Hindi audience, with other markets contributing in smaller pockets
Records tumble as benchmarks get crushed
What makes these numbers even more exciting is the comparison with recent giants. The Hindi version of Pushpa 2 earned Rs 56.9 crore on its second day. Dhurandhar 2 has comfortably surpassed that figure.
Even Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which earned Rs 46.23 crore on day 2, falls far behind. In fact, Ranveer Singh’s film has nearly doubled those numbers, making a loud statement about its box office power.
The film has already crossed Rs 226.27 crore nett in just two days, with gross collections standing at Rs 269.39 crore. It raced past the lifetime collections of films like Sikandar and The Raja Saab within hours on Friday. Soon after, it went beyond Fighter’s Rs 212 crore nett lifetime total and is now inching closer to War’s Rs 236 crore benchmark.
Global numbers and what lies ahead
On the global front, the film opened with Rs 236.63 crore on day 1 itself. This included Rs 145.55 crore India nett, Rs 172.63 crore India gross and Rs 64 crore from overseas markets.
Even before its official release, paid previews added Rs 73.85 crore worldwide. This consisted of Rs 43 crore India nett, Rs 51.60 crore India gross and Rs 22.25 crore internationally. These early numbers played a huge role in building momentum.
With this pace, the film is expected to cross Rs 250 crore domestically by Saturday. That would make it one of the fastest films to reach the milestone.
Released on March 19, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues the story of last year’s biggest hit. With a cast that includes Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt, the film is clearly firing on all cylinders.
Even with a drop, the message is clear. This is not just a strong run. This is a full blown box office takeover.
Dhurandhar 2 refuses to slow down. After a Rs 102.55 crore opening, it still pulls Rs 80.72 crore on day 2 despite a 21.3 percent drop. Ranveer Singh’s film beats Jawan and Pushpa 2 Hindi day 2 easily, races past Rs 226.27 crore nett in 2 days, and now eyes the Rs 250 crore mark domestically already
