> I mentioned this in another post, that Shivaay actually comes from money and a family, who no matter how dysfunctional, look out for each other. He is more like his uncle than his father when it comes protecting the family and putting them above anyone and everyone, especially his brothers. He is a adoring older brother to Priyanka as well and I especially like how he greets her with a side hug and a kiss on the temple. He is a mama bear of the family who indulges everyone but is strict when someone steps out of line. Unlike his predecessors he doesn't see himself as the provider nor has he isolated himself from the family.

> He is aware that he is narcissistic and arrogant and has a strong sense of elitist principles or standards he abides by but he isn't unfair. He was treating Anika in a derogatory manner because the circumstances were pitting them against each other constantly. But there is a change in his attitude when she is cleared of the 'charges' he believed she was guilty of. He unapologetic about treating anyone harshly who is a threat to his family and he is clear about that, but he treats people with cordiality when time calls for it, like Svetlana, inspite of his disgust for her. Also, he might be irritated and snappy, but not brooding 24x7!

> As you rightly said, he is chilled out! He might have a certain image he maintains, but he isn't closed off from expressing his emotions. As I like to say, SSO is not emotionally stunted! He is sarcastic, witty, goofy and actually enjoys being in the company of people, i.e., his brothers. Also actually gives importance to Tia , respects her opinion and not treat her like a arm candy.

All the three brothers have a distinct level of swag and are actually fun to watch! Shivaay doesn't believe in the concept of romantic love as such but isnt jaded because of the loveless marriages around him. he simply believes that legacy, family, blood are more important than love for a marriage.

I am definitely looking forward to more of Shivaay's layers being revealed because it seems like he does shoulder a great burden of responsibility but isn't perturbed by it. He might be looking for that elusive feeling of 'love' but isn't aware of it nor is actively avoiding it because he's never really felt unloved in the surroundings he has grown up in.

hey, you write too well... while going through this post I was just thinking what's so different in SSO from MSK, ASR, AAK... but after reading your writeup I finally understood what's that different is they all had a past which affected their natures but here we've a hero who's happy with his life on a whole with just lil bit of adjustments

Absolutely, 100% agree with you on all your points! I feel the exact same way. This new 4Lions hero just seems more human and less robot than all the others before him. His emotions have range and fall on the natural spectrum, rather than constantly being HULK SMASH angry or high-strung/uptight! 😆 His response to his environment is more understandable than previous heroes who would go from zero to 60 when one tiny thing didn't go their way. I have to say, it's about time 4Lions got with the program and gave us more relatable characters! 😳

I've said this in my main post. Maybe you didn't catch it. The mummy-daddy issues bit was a reference to this, the fact that he does not have a sad past. All 4 Lions heroes sad past are due to Mummy or Daddy issues only. 😛

Hey Amulya, thank you for the compliment! :)

Shivaay, I believe has faced tragedy, like almost losing Omkara to drugs, putting him through rehab and again facing the possibility that Omkara might have overdosed again. What seperates him in these moments is that he turns to his family for support, he lets Rudra stand behind him and let him see his anguish and pain. He hurt Anika but was clear about the reason, that he shall destroy her for being the reason his brother is in pain. Unlike the previous leads, he actually lets his family in when he in pain and that what makes him different from the previous leads I think.

I so agree...I don't get the comparison of Shivay with previous Gul's male leads or the way its said that he is a typical 4Lions hero...he is definitely not...he is a multi layered character and best of all the 4 Lions leads I have seen till now

Totally.

He loves his family to death...he can go to any extent to protect his family and expresses his love, concern and fear of losing them so well...he is not ashamed to express his feelings for his family and that's the best part

👏

He is never ashamed to accept his mistakes...like wenever Om, Rudra and Dadi point out where he went wrong, and make him realize his mistakes, he doesn't scream or shout on them...instead he took the effort of going to Anika's house to apologize...I love the fact that he doesn't ever go against dadi's wish...her wishes are his command😆

This so much. I don't remember the previous 4 Lions male leads giving so much importance to their elders wishes.

He doesn't like how the elders of the house behave, but not once he has ever misbehaved with his own parents or with Tej...he gives respect to the elders as well as the young ones, even with Tia he is always so respectful...such an admirable quality.

I like how he does not get irritate with Tia's karma, universe, reiki and aura cleansing jaap. This shows he does have a bit of patience. 😆

for the manhandling part...his start with Anika was not on a good note...his family was under a security threat and Anika sneaked into the house...I agree that throwing her in the pool or getting her arrested was the worst thing he did till now...but later, wenever they fought, was only coz of the chip misunderstanding and wen it comes to family, you don't see wrong or right, man or woman, you just want to save your family from the person you think is responsible and that's what he did...from the time the misunderstanding cleared, he has been very apologetic which shows in his actions as well as he has softened towards Anika

Aah thanks for bringing up the manhandling. Forgot to mention it my main post. But I did make it clear in one of my replies that he only manhandled her at times he assumed that she tried to cause harm to his family. Which although does not justify his actions, but shows that he was always blinded by his love and loyalty to his family. @ bold Exactly.

He is cool, trendy and fun loving in his own ways...he jokes around wen with his brothers and dadi...I just love his suits...and I agree he wasn't ashamed to dress up like Om or did not shy away from facing the family in that wig😆

I like his colourful socks. 😆 I feel like they give him a bit of quirk. 😉

And the best quality that I love is, he is such an amazing cook...he cooks for himself and his family...smiles wen all are happy and dine together...he has started to feel for Anika that shows in his actions and how he stands quiet wenever she lectures him😆...he's a perfect gentleman ❤️

Right! He's gonna be such a joru ka ghulam after marriage! It will be a treat to watch. Also recall the instance when he was hesitating to go through her handbag. Aah such a gentleman! 😳

Thanks!

I have found Shivaay a very intriguing character since beginning. Behind his businessman persona, he is a caring and protective brother, grandson and son. He also knows how to get his point across even without shouting, for example when Svetlana came to Oberoi mansion to handle security, Shivaay didn't like it but instead of shouting, he expressed his opinion to Tej that he will not tolerate if Om and his badi maa's emotion are hurt.

Exactly. I've never heard him shout on this show, ever. Correct me if I am wrong. Not even to Annika has he shouted at once. Even when he hated her the most after the chip drama, he did not yell at her. I really like this aspect about him. It also sets him apart from the previous 4 Lions heroes.

He is basically the pillar/support system of his family and he'll do anything to keep his family together. Even though he has his siblings and daadi by his side, he still seems lonely as we haven't seen much sharing his pain with them. It was quite evident when he was smiling seeing his family eating together at the dinning table but there will still loneliness in his eyes. He wants to push away all the troubles that might come over his family but he is yet to face his inner turmoil of being lonely. I think he is aware of it but just doesn't want to face it.

Lovely observations. I felt the same way. He has emotional diabetes, if I may say so. Hungry in the midst of plenty.😆 I feel like due to the lack of love from his parents in his childhood, he tries to overcompensate this by showering it on his family, his bros especially. 😳 This shows his selfless nature.

I hope in the future CVs explore Shivaay's inner turmoil as Om said it "Shivaay is the wall of the family but sometimes even wall needs the support" (Don't know the exact dialogue 😆)

And the support of this wall is gonna be Annika. And she won't let go of this wall ever. ❤️

I agree with each point and to be honest his 'manhandling' on the beginning of the show was also not overboard as in it was a retaliation to everything Anika did.
She broke his glass he did not do a thing
She threw gobbar at him still he didn't even touch her
Then water scene again no force used.
But when he saw her in his house with someone having cut the lights he assumed it was her and refused to believe the proofs in her defence. Threw her in the water coz she had thrown water on him. And tried to intimidate her. I am not defending him here.
Plus every other time it was Anika who got physical with him first except for the rain sequence. I am not defending his actions but just pointing out how he differs from his other 4lions predecessors.

🤗

Thank you sweetie.

I just mentioned this in another reply of mine. He always manhandled her in retaliation to the assumption that she caused harm or tried to cause harm to his family. Truth be told, ever since she entered his life, all the attacks on the Oberois started. Any normal person would be suspicious. Even while he had a doubt in his mind about her wrt to the chip drama, he laughed, said the 'Raita phail gaya' dialogue and did not yell at her once. Even while the whole issue came to the forefront and he had even more reason to doubt her, he did not yell at her.

But notice, every single time he has manhandled her it was because of his blindness and loyalty to family. This def sets him apart from his predecessors who manhandled their heroines for no reason at times. 🤢

Yup. His similarities to Tej are striking! 😆 No wonder he seems more like Tej's son than Shakti's. This was addressed on the show by Rudra as well. His character has similarities to the Hindu Lord Shiva, don't you think? He's the wall of his family, and while he's peaceful at home, he's a ruthless warrior when it comes to protecting his family from harm's way.

You have a way with words. Thanks for putting this point across so eloquently. I concur completely. He was so cute the time when he went to Annika's house to get her to come back. Listing all the times he assumed she was wrong and absolving all the guilt. Not just Svetlana, even Roop Bua. In the last episode precap, he said now that she's here, Tej and Shakti might as well let her tie the rakhi. So he is def not heartless and is even quite understanding at times!

> As you rightly said, he is chilled out! He might have a certain image he maintains, but he isn't closed off from expressing his emotions. As I like to say, SSO is not emotionally stunted! Hmm. I have a different take on this. I do feel that he felt a certain lack of love or attention from his parents. Which I feel that he has overcompensated by showering love on his brothers. :-) But he def isn't averse to the concept of love or put off by it for sure. 😉

This is another really good point! 👏 Thanks for bringing it up. This reiterates my point in my main post that he has not built any walls around his heart and does not lock his emotions away, at least when it comes to his family and his close ones. And, this sets him apart from his predecessors too.
