Very well articulated points. The progression of the characterisation of Gul's heroes continues. She irons out the kinks of the previous ones with each new one she creates.

Shivaay's character displayed great maturity in last night's episode. He was calm, reasonable and didn't react hotly, while all around him were losing their heads. And he was the one to be justifiably hurt and angry. It shows that what he does for his family is because he genuinely loves them. Where they are concerned, there is no sense of ego, that feeling that 'I am doing so much for you and this is how you repay me'. It makes him endearing.

Thank you! 😳

Right, I really liked his maturity in yesterday's epi too. His love and loyalty for his family is endearing. Yesterday gave us a glimpse into his sacrificing nature as well. In the future, he will give up his name, position, power; three things he holds most dear, just for the sake of his family.

Lovely post..well explained and some great responses too!😊
All of Gul's heroes have that certain something that makes you want to watch till the charactization goes for a toss !

But most of them are far more negative than Shivaay...men who you cannot imagine the heroine falling in love with! And I think the story of Shivaay and Anika too is progressing more logically...all earlier cases had overt examples of soul connection between the hero and heroine even when they barely knew each other...but here it isn't like that! This guy is actually someone you can imagine Anika coming to love!

Shivaay is very real...whatever flaws he has are not because of something in his past..that is the person he is...he takes decisions based on what he thinks and doesn't shy away from admitting remorse...the scene when he was looking at Anika's phone and thinking how wrong he was showed that...he was not targeting her ..he just thought she was responsible for hurting his family...he has been a lot better after he came to know she wasn't responsible...

Yes he is ruthless in some ways...like the lengths he went to to make Anika apologise...but has a lot of endearing qualities...his love for his brothers as everyone has said is the best thing about him...he is vulnerable and shows it...like the time he was so hurt because Om took those pills...

And he has a sense of humour and is more normal than other heroes of Gul😆

THIS. To the power of tiffi...err infinity. 😆 Thanks for bringing forth another great point, got so many in this thread. Shivaay and Annika don't have many of those random catch and fall scenes and staring contests and I am so glad they don't. In most of their scenes so far they are shown bantering, which showcases the clash of their ideologies. This seems way less superficial & shallow and shows actual progression in their story...cause love is not just about hot eye sex and sexual frustration. Though attraction is a very important factor for romantic love, it isn't the sole one and def isn't one of the more important ones.

YES! 👏 Great example. :)

His family and especially his bros are his Achilles heel. He does not hide his vulnerable side to them.

And he has a sense of humour and is more normal than other heroes of Gul😆

For once we get a seemingly normal character and not a beast eh. 😆

Yes...that attraction is very subtly shown...Shivaay is affected by Anika for sure...he tries to avoid her too and that scene where he was harsh and called her Kooda was actually quite telling...he didn't like himself very much for doing that...the walk away from the scene and screaming at Tia that he wasn't affected showed that...!
And yesterday Anika found herself feeling vet different about Shivaay...or maybe she felt bad for what she said earlier...there was this small scene where she had an expression of absolute disbelief or even apology as he spoke about what family means to him.

And yes...no more beasts please...all those stories were driven by the male leads past and then the female leads were made to do things that seemingly justified why they fell in love...I mean sure physical attraction can supersede ideology but falling into deep love without resolving any issues that existed...that's incredulous!😆

First let me correct myself, I just realised I contradicted myself in my reply wrt to the attraction thing. 🤣 Well I meant it is important but it isn't the sole criteria if that makes sense...

Yes in that scene with Tia, he actually took out all his frustration at Rudra but it was all directed at Annika. Indeed, he did not like himself for calling her 'kooda' at all. :)

Subtle hints of attraction were shown in that dabba episode, where she got out of the cardboard box. I feel like here a fall catch scene was properly done, it wasn't just her randomly falling and him being there to catch her. She actually fainted in his arms, it just made it all the more romantic to me. 😳 I don't know about you...

Well yesterday, she got the confirmation of how loyal and selfless this guy is when it comes to his family. She had seen hints of his loyalty before, but yesterday's incident pretty much sealed the deal. Ideologically, Annika and Shivaay may be poles apart but at the core, they are the same. Both are fiercely independent people who give and love with all their hearts and are especially loyal and selfless when it comes to their family. I'm sure when Annika marries Shivaay, she's gonna be the pillar to him, Shivaay is the pillar/wall of Oberoi family and Annika will be his pillar of strength and support.

Yup. Am so glad they sorted the chip misunderstanding cause I didn't want Shivaay and Annika to fall for each other with that MU looming over their heads. So far, their love story has been shaped well and seems real and not superficial. Let us enjoy their falling in love phase cause 4 Lions know how do this best. After that no bharosa. 😆

We seem to be totally in agreement😆.

Oh the random fall and catch ...and then the eyelocks would go on for an entire song irrespective of location🤣..although I have enjoyed watching those too so shouldn't complain!

Here the first such incident had Anika unconscious and so didn't seem out of place...especially the part where he placed her head gently on pillows..
