SS: Rewarding Sacrifice

Part 1

A/N: Guys this story will need extreme editing, so even though I have it here for a while soon I will take it down and edit it properly. Due to the large word count so much of the editing was overlooked. Thanks for all your comments and likes.

To say that achieving Shivaay and Anika's upcoming wedding was a celebratory achievement was just merely an understatement. It took nearly one whole year for everyone involved to come to terms with the fact that these two were actually inseparable, that their love was undeniable and their chemistry transparent. Convincing Choti Ma and Tej Oberoi was the biggest challenge; the rest came to an agreement rather quite easily. But it was amidst all this that Omkara suffered the most, but not because of Shivaay's love life, but instead because of Ishana or as he knew her then; Bela. Finding out that Ridhima was a fraud and a cheat had naturally had a disturbing effect on him, but as a consequence, he sought comfort in Bela's arms. And before he knew it the comfort had grown into full-fledged feelings for her as well.

The real worry began when those feelings became immensely powerful for Om, and with it so did his needs and wants from Bela. Om was always a very patient man, and regardless of his history of drugs he was still a man with physical and emotional desires wishing Bela' could feel them as well. It was only amidst such heat that did he discover her truth, shattering him in response forever.

And slowly when Ishana's feelings became impossible to ignore as well is when she had realised that she couldn't hide them any longer from him. But as luck would have it Omkara found out her truth before she could tell him. It had turned out that the car scandal they had begun their relationship on had come back to bite her sharply. Shivaay made sure that the incident was investigated thoroughly since his brothers were duped, only resulting in Ishana being caught. Soon enough the life Ishana knew had become a full blown nightmare. Her father had to turn himself in, probably the only noble thing he had done in his life since her mother passed away. The worst thing was that it left Ishana and Mona with no one to look after them. Not that anyone was taking care of them before, but now they had to deal with their own problems as well as their father's leftover business. His father's goons still wanted their money back, and they had threatened to kidnap Mona and do everything imaginable if Ishana didn't come up with it fast. Omkara, on the other hand was just too disgusted to even look at Ishana after realising she was trying to con him, and his silence had shown Ishana the door with absolutely refusing to hear any form of justification she had to offer. Ishana didn't have much of a choice left and the only one person she loved more than Omkara was her own sister, so she had made a vow to protect her even at her own cost. This only led to a life she once cringed at, but today had to worship it for her living.

Similarly, Om had reverted back into his own shell, he wasn't on drugs and neither was he planning to rely on them again, but his behaviour and mood had become erratic at times. Suffering from heartbreak twice wasn't something any human deserved. Although Om was still a trustworthy brother who regardless of dealing with his personal battles was genuinely happy for Shivaay, and he was glad that Anika brought a much more positive swing to his personality.

As a part of the wedding nuptials, Rudra had taken over the planning of Shivaay's bachelor party. Rudra's aim was to make it a party that was the talk of the town with invite most of Shivaay's colleagues and friends to celebrate an unabashed and an overindulgent night of fun. Disguising the whole event from Anika was already a task, which Om wasn't necessarily proud of, but he had relented in knowing how much Rudra wanted to do this for Shivaay.

The night club had been chosen, the drinks were already ordered to overflow, and most of all there was the unknown surprise that both Om and Shivaay didn't know of. Rudra had pre-planed pole-dancers as a surprise package for the event, and he knew his brothers were too chicken to actually request anything of this sort, but he was blatant that this was a bachelor party and not some sort of a prayer meeting.

The night had begun on a tipsy note, which was best because Om knew it was going to be tough trying to smile all night with the despair his heart was still actually in. He loved his brothers, and their happiness was important to him, yet losing Ishana on some days was unbearable. Knowing that his brother was getting a happy ending felt amazing, but his heart was still in envy. He always made sure to never drink too much or never to make it so obvious, only enough to make it through the night. Shivaay, on the other hand knew far too well what Om was going though. He saw it himself how his heart was ripped apart both times by Ridhima and Ishana's true identity. He wasn't by any means supportive of either of them and what they did, after all, they had hurt his brother which in his books was worse than any sin one could commit. But even through his harsh and cold demeanour, Shivaay could see that Ishana meant more to him than anyone ever had, and also Ishana herself had fallen for him too. It was just a pity that she never came clean about her real identity, Om would have easily forgiven her because he already loved her.

The nightclub Rudra had chosen was one of the best in Mumbai, the liquor flowing around was the most exquisite one had to offer, so Omkara could tell that very soon within the party everyone was going to be completely smashed. But as the liquor began to be served, the lights dimmed and the music came to a low almost concealing the club. And just then the nightclub's manager boomed over the speakers to make an unneeded interruption.

"Friends what a great pleasure to have you all here tonight at Studio91! As you all know tonight is Shivaay's final night of celebrating his bachelorhood. The man is officially getting married and so his younger brother has in store a little surprise for him tonight!"

Shivaay turned to Om with a raised eyebrow, and Om just looked back nodding his head to the side, clearly indicating that he had nothing to do with this. Then Shivaay turned towards Rudra, who gleamed back with his teeth flashing. Shivaay already knew that whatever his youngest brother had planned it would never really attain any success, rather is always backfired in the most horrific of ways possible. But Shivaay closed his eyes in anticipating the misery that was going to be thrown upon him, knowing he would probably have to be the one to clean it up.

Just then the manager spoke up again, "the city's hottest pole dancers that are exclusive to only this club only will be performing for all of you, my friends! A special gift from Rudra Singh Oberoi to his older brother Shivaay! Everyone enjoy the night with open hearts and non-stop drinks!"

Shivaay's eyes bulged at hearing the words pole dancers; Anika was surely going to kill him if she caught a whiff of this. Omkara on the other hand just looked sternly towards Shivaay matching his level of dissatisfaction at what was about to happen. Honestly what else could have they expected from their overdue hormonal younger brother.

"You honestly couldn't find anything better than this to give, Rudra?" Om furiously asked. Rudra just looked dumbfounded, as always, his brothers clearly weren't pleased with him from the tone they used. This stint cost him a bit from his pocket and Rudra wasn't going miss out on this simply because his brothers didn't look interested.

Finally, Shivaay spoke up breaking Rudra's thoughts, "seriously who told you to do all this? Isn't it enough that all of us were getting completely drunk tonight that you had to add pole dancers as well? Seriously the media cannot find out about this Rudra, I just can't believe how stupid and irresponsible you are!"

Om then quickly grabbed another drink from the bar behind him, he needed a stiff one before the horror show began, it was the only sane way of dealing with Rudra's idea.

The lights went even dimmer and spotlights dropped to light up several platforms, which no one had realised were placed around the club. Their sporadic arrangement around the nightclub made groups huddle around each platform, eagerly waiting for the dancer to step on. Each had a loaded silver pole at its centre and only enough space for the dancer to move around the pole. Then the music began, and it was very much jazz dripping with sex, causing Om, and Shivaay both to gulp down their drinks in agonising pain, fear more for Shivaay. They both silently agreed that Rudra was not going to make it alive after this party, it was humiliating enough to be standing next to him as he lustfully awaited the show. The platform closest to the three brothers wasn't far at all, but it had some of their friends already standing as the first row of audience around it, but still it was free enough for them to see it all happen from where they stood.

With the music playing in the background a face emerged dressed in a long black trench coat, her head topped with a black fedora and her eyes facing the pole in front of her. Om caught her eyes as he set his eyes on hers, he would recognise the pair anywhere in the world. Oddly enough they had contacts in them tonight, which he knew because they were the ones he saw through that burka. But her face, this time was completely on display even under the shade of the fedora, still as pristine and silk ridden as once his own fingers remembered it.

Ishana wasn't clearly concentrating on anything, but only one thing, the waiting pole platform in front of her. It was her saving grace from now on, it was all that mattered. Even with a huge crowd around the platform she saw no one, recognised no one, heard no name being announced, but all she knew was the large sum of money she would be receiving at the end of the night to slowly pay off her father's debt, and now hers. Her distant and numb-self became ready to shed off the cloak covering her modesty, an action that still disturbed her but was her means to survival. And it was only then that did Shivaay also realised who was standing in front of them, and much soon after did Rudra also realise that it was his Ishana di. Their eyes wide with worry and fear of the unknowing of what Omkara would have to witness tonight because of them.

Ishana's high dance heels made a clanking noise as she stepped onto the platform and then a large drumbeat pounded indicating that all the dancers were in a synchronised position. On the second beat, she stripped off the buttons of her trench coat with a snap, revealing all she had to offer for the evening. Her legs stepped out wide, making a slanted V with the floor. Her posture was enough to raise a fire in the house. There was no denying that she was memorising and beautiful, but Om could feel with every second his heart was actually constricting in agony with everyone else also seeing her with a lustful gaze. While her coat buttons were amidst opening Om could see the skimpy navy bikini top, leaving nothing at all to imagination, as for him it had appeared in a dreadful slow motion. By the time the coat was fully off he was physically starting to cringe. Seeing the short bottoms on her felt redundant for him because they were only there to actually display the skin on her legs. Shivaay immediately reacted with worry and put his hand on Omkara's shoulder, "you don't have to do this, we can get out of here right now. It's already too much for me and I have no idea how you will handle this Om."

Om's eyes remained transfixed, they didn't budge nor blink instead they were burning silently with excruciating pain, finally realising that this is where his Ishana had ended up or maybe where she had started from. Either way, it sliced his heart. He couldn't somehow make peace with the fact that this was just what she was, yet the idea of staying there and watching this charade disgusted him to his core. He loved her, how could he withstand this, every man looking like a predator at her and all ready to jump at her, while she would perform to their pleasure and titillate them in return. His eyes kept stinging at an increasingly painful rate where he knew they would either tear up any moment, or just burn down.

It even took Om a second to realise that he had to reply back to his brother Shivaay, and then he thought what should he say back? The words eventually found their way through his throat, spluttering, "can you please get her off there, just please do anything Shivaay and get her off there. I can't have her seen like this by anyone." His voice clearly shaken as it still shivered at the thought of being looked at in such a humiliating manner, but Om realised it was only going to get worse with every second that passed.

Soon enough Ishana had to pick up with the beat and start moving. Sexy and seductive was what she was told to perform every night, making this night no different. Her long legs even with her high heels on were making intricate steps around the pole, and within no time was she making her way up the pole and forming acrobatic stunts no amateur could. Om just held onto his head clasped with his hands while his fingers shook vigorously watching the scene unfold in front of him.

Shivaay erratically told Rudra to get the manager in front of him quickly, and within seconds Rudra fulfilled his command. He knew this was an extremely serious matter and they needed to fix it before Omkara lost it completely. The manager walked straight up with a large smile on his face greeting Shivaay, "enjoying sir?" Shivaay's eyes stood motionless displaying the absolute opposite of that, "I need that girl off that pole, NOW!" Shivaay said pointing towards the platform closest to them.

The manager looked at Ishana, and then looked back at Shivaay with a mischievous smirk on his face, "Oh Sir that's Angle she doesn't usually take clients outside this club for those sort of needs, don't worry you're not the first to ask." Before he could even finish the sentence Omkara burst with anger and lunged forward to grab his collar, "what the fu*ck do you mean usually'? We want her off that pole NOW! OR CAN YOU NOT HEAR US CLEARLY?" Om just burst his limited patient demeanour and channelled his frustration, while Shivaay and Rudra tried their best pulling him off to control the situation.

This time the manager looked disturbed while Shivaay had managed to pull off Omkara from him, "that sort of request would cost you three times what I pay her, and after that do as you please with her, otherwise she isn't getting off anywhere," he finished with no emotion in his eyes.

Omkara abruptly turned his head and with his eyes bloodshot with venom, this time Shivaay spoke before Om could even get a chance to do anything more terrifying.

"I'll pay you five times that, get her off now and send her back to the changing rooms. What's her room number? We're getting all her things so she won't be coming back to work from now on." The manager's eyes looked more shocked at their demand, but the payout was enough for him to remain shut up. "The rooms are behind this back wall, and her green room number is 4."

He knew enough not to anger any of these brothers anymore, and then he walked straight for the platform where Ishana was still performing. Omkara without thinking walked towards the green rooms to wait for her to arrive, while his brothers were waiting for the manager to get Ishana to finally come down and take her back.

The manager's instructions became obvious from a distance and Ishana stopped midway, while she stepped off the platform the first face she recognised was Rudra. Omkara's youngest brother, he was the one who was once no less than a brother to her as well, seeing her like this would have probably destroyed any redemptive opinion he had left of her. Ishana wasn't even sure why she was being instructed to come down, but right after seeing Rudra she saw Shivaay Bahia handing her the trench coat she shed off earlier, slightly making more sense now. He looked down while he handed her the coat and Ishana took it immediately and draped it over her shoulders to cover up in front of them. Before she could say anything Shivaay and Rudra were leading her out of the crowds towards her change rooms. She looked at Shivaay and then back at her Rudra, both had their gaze firmly set towards the floor, probably too ashamed to meet hers, and then she looked at her manager who had just seemed to disappear. Nearing the hallway of the change rooms she eventually spoke up not knowing what was happening, "why did the manager ask me to come down Bahia?"

And it left Shivaay stunned not knowing how to reply, "do you really think we could have seen you like this? This was Rudra's dirty little stunt for which I am sure he has realised how much of a mistake this actually was. Just pack your things we can drop you home."

Ishana didn't know what else to say, it had only hit her that this was probably Shivaay's bachelor party who she was performing for.She was too absent-minded earlier to even notice who she was dancing for.

"And who is going to pay my bills Shivaay Bahia?" Her eyes questioned him with a genuine urgency.

Shivaay looked back horrified, "this is no way to pay your bills Ishana!"

She laughed back with bitterness, "trust me it's a more honest way than what I tried doing with your brother Bahia. At least I am not lying to anyone here."

Shivaay didn't know what more to say, he didn't know how desperate was she, and if things were so bad why did she never tell Omkara about any of this?

"Why didn't you ever tell us the truth Ishana? If you had just asked us honestly we could have easily paid off what ever you needed the money so badly for? If only you had gone about it the right way we would have made sure that this is where you didn't end up. It makes me mad that you've had to do this for however long, you were like a little sister to me Ishana."

Ishana's eyes started to sting with tears prickling , she didn't need this sort of judgment now. "Please just let me be." And then she ran towards her greenroom not knowing who was standing rightt inside listening to her entire conversation.

She walked inside blindly and then locked the room instinctively without even realising that someone could be inside, and as she turned her eyes met Omkara's furious and bloodshot ones. Ishana took in a deep breath completely forgetting that Om would also be here with his bothers as well, even he would have had to see this tonight.

She looked towards the floor but stood with her back up against the closed door, "I don't have any justification to give to you." She flatly stated. He couldn't have looked any angrier, "why would you?" And then he walked forward, pacing slowly towards her until his face was well within her private proximity.

"Honestly you should have just asked me back then, I could have paid you for warming my bed in return if I knew you were that desperate." He seethed his words as a hot whisper making her eyes react loudly, looking straight back at him. Before he could even utter another word her eyes filled with a venom and she came forward with an urge to slap him sharply across his cheek.

"I dance M.R Omkara Singh Oberoi, I am not anyone's keep." Om stood frozen with his face to the side she had hit him, and then he reacted unusually slow before smirking, "at least it's good to know that you keep a difference between the two things."

She didn't even want to know what he meant by that statement, but before she could derive any meaning from it, he spoke again, "pack your stuff your never returning here from today onwards."

She was still bewildered at his unknown authority, "like I said before, I have bills to pay, and who the hell are you to tell me what I can do, or cannot do? This is my business and not yours, you can't see me dance or stand my presence? Please go see someone else if I can't please your appetite, but don't you dare try and play some sort of protective ex-boyfriend card over me! This is my body and what I choose to do with it is my business not yours."

Om wasn't sure if it was possible to make his temper rise anymore, and uncharacteristically he grabbed Ishana's hair making her wince in pain against the door. "You might be the one in charge of your body but it sure as hell is my heart that burns me from the inside knowing fully that this is what you do with it. How dare you! How dare you Ishana! I used to cherish you, I never wanted to make you uncomfortable regardless of the desires my heart had to do with you, and look at you! You have no problem stripping off for others."

His grip on her hair became tighter only making her wince louder, "let go of me! She screamed. "You have no idea of the responsibilities I have so drop your fu*ken judgment!"

He just smirked back at her but his eyes not concealing his pain, "really? Responsibilities? I didn't realise that running a household these days became so difficult that you would need to put yourself on sale Ishana!"

Her eyes were now past the point of stinging and readily spilling tears, "they're going to take my sister away from me if I don't pay them back Om. I need this job. Om, please understand this, I have to come back. You don't need me to dance tonight? Fine! BUT I NEED THIS JOB." She had realised fighting with him was useless, and this was the only way to reason with his angry self; just beg.

Om could tell that she wasn't lying, she was never the type of girl to do anything of this nature before. She used to get shy when Om used to try and kiss her, or even tell her that she looked beautiful, this was never her. She wouldn't easily do something like this.

"Who are the people going to take away your sister? Say the name and I'll finish them."Om stated with absolute seriousness.

Ishana's eyes and her heart sank lower, it only made her think that had she told him the truth in the first place this wouldn't have ever been a problem. He would have just understood her and helped her in return. He probably would have still loved her. Maybe he still does?
