CHAPTER-4
CONNECTED CONSPIRACIES

The whole Oberoi Mansion was unusually quiet. Ever since the Maha Arti incident, danger lurked in their house every second.
Two months back...
The whole Oberoi family was present at the temple for the Maha aarti. Pinky and Tej as usual started their years old drama for their eligible heir. though it was all fake on their personal sides but yet they had to continue it for the betterment of their family. Pinky was never infatuated with money, she respected Tej like her elder brother and the day both the bothers started quarreling for the property, she understood that something was wrong. Hence she too picked up unnecessary fights with Janvi who was quite witty enough to understand the whole game plan. But still the question remained unanswered till date, what was the reason of these fights?
The three brothers being the pillars of their family obliged to their elders and together stood up for the aarti. When the Priest asked one of them to perform the aarti Shivaay smirked saying," How can we go against our family? My mother wants me to do the aarti,bade papa wants Omkara to do the aarti." Omkara looked at the priest with a smile," Dadi asked never to spare Rudra from any of the responsibilities.So we need to oblige our elders." Rudra being the playful one jumped in with his witty reply,"That is what dadi tought us since childhood. All for one and one for all." The Preist gave in while the elders faked annoyance though happy inside.
The maha aarti was on full swing but something kept on distracting Tej which didn't go unnoticed by Priyanka. She could very well comprehend that her bade papa was restless regarding something. She was about to go and ask when Svetlana walked passed her as quickly as possible and whispered something to him which relaxed him a little. He returned to the aarti followed by Svetlana while Priyanka went to Anika to see if she needed some help.
Everyone was busy in the maha arti. Suddenly a man called out to Tej from the crowd and thus getting everyone's attention. Soon he set himself on fire and burnt to death shocking everyone present there.The following day everyone searched the news channels for the news covering but were surprised to know that Tej had successfully stopped the coverage of the incident.
Following this incident, numerous accidents took place in an attempt to kill the three brothers. It was Om who interpreted that all this could not be just a co-incidence that each time the attacks were near successful. Thus, confirming everyone that it was someone's evil plotting against the family. Each time a different member was attacked but was saved just in the nick of the time by two unknown person. At first everyone doubted them but with time, it was clear that they were only protecting and not attacking.
Shivaay and Tia's alliance broke off since Tia and her family was not ready to face the danger lurking the Oberois. Hence in a mutual decision the alliance was called off and with this Shivaay's deal of Rs.1500 cr. also broke off. All thanks to Rudra, had he not corrupted Tia's positive mind with that of his negative and evil ideas, this marriage was bound to take place.Though he did receive a return gift from Shivaay for his so called efforts, Rudra's happiness knew no bounds. For him punishments were far better than tolerating Lady Baba with his Superman. Rudra was sent to college without his phone, his room was cleaned up having none of his dumbells and other Gym equipments for the next one week. On the other hand, Om met a girl during one of his art exhibitions. As time passed, Om grew closer to her creating a distance between him and his girlfriend Ridhima.
Ridhima was a social activist and was always ready to help people without taking Om's help on a public platform. But off late even she started behaving wierd. In Shivaay's point of view, she was possessive for Om which looked quite obvious. But as time passed even Shivaay noticed that it was not possessiveness but there something else in her eyes. Rudra assumed her to be jealous of Om's new friend but even that was proven wrong when Om rejected his date with Ridhima and went on for a movie with his friend Bela, well if that was actually her name.
During all this, one day a police officer called up Shivaay saying that he had to bring his brothers to Police station for the signing up of certain documents. Ever since the two of them were framed in a fake car robbery case, he didn't let the two of them strike off any sort off idiotic deals yet again. He made a mental note of leaving Om with his paintings and stuffs while Rudra would be left in the gym only and would not be allowed to strike of troublesome deals in the near future, atleast till he completed his education. Shivaay was still in search of the lady who conned his brothers but there was no clue to lead him anywhere near her.
Both Shivaay and Om were busy checking Rudra's phone when, Rudra came whining to them but instead of them he straight away went to Janviand cuddled up like a 2year old. Janvi was busy reading a magazine and was startled at Rudra's unusual behaviour. Dadi too looked concerned and ruffled his hair softly while the older brothers rolled their eyes to his another stupid antics. Sighing they settled down to listen Rudra's sad story with popcorn and coke.
Rudra sniffed and straightened himself looking at his brothers feigning annoyance. The look itself told Om and Shivaay that it was related to a girl. Om raised his eyebrows indicating him to start. Rudra making weird faces at him narrated everything that happened with him back at the college. At the end he saw his brothers looking at him with popcorn in open mouth. Seconds later they were rolling on floor with laughter while the ladies too failr=ed to supress their laughter. Pinky pressed her lips as tight as she could but all she did was burst out laughing " Oh My Mata Rudra. You were made to eat eight parathas with ghee by a girl." And she again started laughing frowning the baby boy to the core. Janvi too couldn't stop herself which annoyed him even more "Oh dear. Who is that girl? She must be some wonder for she made you eat what you hate the most." Though Dadi hushed everyone up she too was laughing. It was Om who stopped his laugh for a while looking serious,"So Ruddy boy, you lost the challenge of making a girl fall for you. And yet again he started laughing like a maniac while Shivaay asked him to let them meet the two wonderful girls, one who rejected his baby brother's proposal while the other who made him eat parathas.
At the other end of the city, a girl paced up and down waiting for someone. As soon the door opened she ran to the lady asking her if she found out the whereabouts of her elder sisters. But to her dismay the lady nodded negatively. Yet again a day passed and she had no clue of her sisters but she had her hopes high and was determined to find them at any cost.
Here, at the far end of the city two people sat infront of a big tv switching from one channel to another in a dark room.
VOICE 1: What the hell is this? How come none of the channels covered the Maha arti incident?
VOICE 2: The did cover it. I was there itself and all the news channels were present there.
VOICE 1: Then how come the news did not telecast in any of the channels?
VOICE 2: Don't forget that t was Oberoi's function and nothing is impossible for them. They have stopped the telecast.
VOICE 1: But you said that there was something weird with the man burning himself. What is it?
VOICE 2: It looked as if the man was not prepared for the burning or suicide, whatever you say.
VOICE 1: What? But he did come there to burn himself, isn't it?
VOICE 2: Yes, but the way he was afraid after the lighter lit up was a complete contrast to the confidence with which he walked in and drenched himself in kerosene.
VOICE 1: What do mean? I don't understand.
VOICE 2: He came there to threaten the Oberoi's by burning himself and not actually burn himself.
VOICE 1: What? Are you sure?
VOICE 2: Yes. 100% . He came there to enact a burning scene and not burn in the scene.
VOICE 1: That means he was sent by someone else to act but..
VOICE 2: Exactly. he was sent by someone else inorder to thraten the Oberoi's but the poor guy fell into the trap and burnt himself to death.
VOICE 1: My goodness. Its a big conspiracy.
VOICE 2: Doesn't this conspiracy remind you of something?
VOICE 1: Remind me of what?
VOICE 2: Don't you that the scenario is completely same as that case...
VOICE 1: 15 years back. Yes, how could I forget that. Its the same except that...
VOICE 2: The man here himself was involved in the planning and plottings.
VOICE 1: Does this mean that both the cases are related to each other some how?
VOICE 2: Yes. And this is our first lead.
VOICE 1: Well coming to the 15 Year old case, I got to know that some people were enquiring about the Khuranas. They are amused that Khurana Empire is still running with heads high even after 115 long years of the family's disappearance.
VOICE 2: Disappearance!!
VOICE 1: Yes. Though Mr. and Mrs. Khurana died but people think that their daughters are still alive and some people call it a bullshit to assume that the Khurana sisters are alive.
VOICE 2: Well let them assume whatever they want to. Khurana sisters if alive would definitely show up when time comes and as of the company. Well thats none of their business to think, isn't it?
VOICE 1: Yes.
VOICE 2: I heard Om broke with that social activist..what was her name? some Ritu...
VOICE 1: Ridhima.
VOICE 2. Yes. Ridhima.
VOICE 1: He is broken right now.
VOICE 2: But he has got a new friend I guess.
VOICE 1: Ya. But she too is a con artist and that elder Oberoi is searching for that girl who conned his brothers. What if he gets to know that Om's new friend is the same con girl.
VOICE 2: Come on dear. That girl has a beautiful name too, its not Om's new friend. Her name is Bela.
VOICE 1: No. Its Ishana.
VOICE 2; Ya ya Bela, Mala or Ishana. Whatever it is. Anyways concentrate on your work. Get all the information about these Oberoi's. Got it
VOICE 1: Yes boss.
