CHAPTER-2
SOME UNTOLD TRUTHS
"One can never keep a secret from life, life itself is the master of the biggest secret called death, its a guest, most unexpected and uninvited."
"Oh Shut Up! I don't want to hear your excuses. I don't pay you for making such big excuses." Everyone present at the seashore turned towards the voice knowing the owner of such a demanding and authorative voice. As soon as the man turned his head towards the audience everyone lowered their gaze in fear and continued with their work. They definitely didn't wish to bear the harsh results of pissing off Tej Singh Oberoi. Eldest son of Late Mr. Jatin Singh Oberoi and Mrs. Janki Oberoi. A ruthless business man in his late fifties, gets his work done by hook or crook and loves his children. He is a tough nut to crack but always softens looking at the Oberoi children. But things are not so proper when it comes to his personal life. He does have some harsh truths hidden under his shoes which made him the kind of individual he is today. Not that it was a daily routine for the people present at the temple to hear such things, but again, you don't get to meet The Oberois everyday at such holy places that too with full family. Had it not been the Maha Arti for their eligile heir, let alone think of seeing this family together outside their house. But what made this man angry was a query going on in everyone's mind.
Suddenly they heard an old lady asking him to forgive them "Tej, leave it child. I don't know anything about the matter but please, its a hole function today. I don't want any fights today. Please." the mere sight of the woman could tell you how composed and well sorted out she is. She was the sole reason for the unity of their family. Had it not been her, the whole family would have spilt years back. She was a woman with high self esteem and moral values which did not let her break down after her husband's demise. Mrs. Janki Oberoi loved her children dearly but to her disappointment, her family was literally broken but still lived under the same roof. Tej looked at his mother with guilt but yet asked her not get involved in such issues as it would affect her health. After a bit of reasoning, the old woman left his son on his own as the latter would not budge even a bit from his dicision.
Tej looked at the retreating back of his mother and sighed. He loved his mother and respected her but he definitely could not afford to give a chance to any sort of risk when it came to his family. He turned towards the security officers, anger evident in his eyes "If you guys would have applied your brains in your work instead of giving excuses I wouldn't have been screaming here. Now go and do not give me another chance to complain or else the next time we meet, you would make me sign your firing letter. I hope I made myself clear enough." The bodyguards nodded in a yes and left the place to follow Tej's orders. Tej stared into the approaching waves of the sea when someone put a hand on his shoulder from behind. He could make out whose the owner of the hand. He smiled and continued looking at the sea " Janvi, I hope you gave into my request." He turned to look at her and frowned looking at her bowed down head. The only thing he asked Janvi was to give up her drinks atleast for today.
Mrs.Janvi Oberoi. The name in itself was enough to let people bow down before her. She was an epitome of beauty during her era and even now people still talk about her gracefulness at an age of 56. She was a woman of practical world. But years of unsuccessful marriage made her the alcoholic expatriate she is today. Being the eldest daughter-in-law of Mrs. Janki Oberoi she did fulfil her duties until that fateful day when her marital life started deterioting. Today, after all these years, Tej had personally come to her for a favour. How could she deny him, afterall she still loved him, "Tej, after so many years you asked something from me. How can I not fulfil it and moreover, its a holy function." She turned away and went to the other side of the lawn where rest of the family was. She loved all the children and always wished for them to be together and become a support system for one another. All this while Tej kept on looking at her retreating form hoping her to turn back once. But alas! That wasn't possible. He himself destroyed everything. A lone tear escaped from his eyes as he remembered that fateful day when he got Janvi separated from himself. He opened his eyes and wanted to scream at the top of his voice and let the world know that he still loved his wife and cared for her. He wanted to let her know that whatever he did was for her safety. Unknown to him a pair of eyes witnessed everything with a tears in his eyes. He turned towards the priest and offered his donations to the temple and prayed of his family's togetherness. He wished his elder brother and sister-in-law would one day again come together. He so yearned to see his bhaiya and bhabhi together again. His chain of thoughts were broken by the Priest who asked him to join his family members on the other side, "Shakti ji. please join the others on the other side."
Shakti Singh Oberoi was the younger brother of Tej. He loved him and respected him. For him Tej was a fatherly figure while Janvi was just like a second mother to him. He hated to see them apart but could not do anything for them. He fears to face the history if it comes back yet again. He is man of sheer perseverance and judges people right. In his 55 years of life, he understood one cruel truth of life, money alone cannot give you everything you aspire in life. He was engrossed in his thoughts when a loud voice broke his trance. He turned towards the direction and sighed heavily. His wife was an epic example of comedy to him. He couldn't help but smile at her antics. Even now she was throwing tantrums to her maid.
Mrs. Pinky Oberoi, Smart, witty, loud spoken and a little less educated in English. Aged in her early fifties, she facades a mask of money oriented person on her face. To the world she appears to be the mean and selfish person but inside her lives a dutiful daughter-in-law to he Janki, a loving wife to Shakti, a responsible mother to all the kids of the house, a friendly sister to Tej and a best friend to Janvi. Over the years she piled up all these versions of herself just to make her family more stronger. She would intentionally pick up fights with Janvi and Tej on the property matter just to let the people know that whatever happens this family would definitely not break especially to that wicked witch who snatched away her best friend's happiness.
A car came to a screeching halt and a woman stepped out of it dressed in a pink lehenga saree just like the ones Janvi wore. She straight away went to Tej and locked her hands with him. Disgust would be an understatement to what Tej felt when she touched him. He calmed himself and freed himself from her not rising her suspicion and turned towards her " Hey Swetlana. Hope you have checked the security details. I don't want any kind of commotion or chaos in today's function." Swetlana smiled and assured him before he left to meet his other associates. While walking he let a sigh of relief and removed the false smile that he had to put on each time before Swetlana. Only if it was in his hand, he would have had that woman strangled to death.
Once Tej left, Swetlana gave out a wicked smile which didn't go unnoticed by Pinky. Had it not been the function and the guest, she would have surely thrown that good for nothing lady into the sea full of sharks. On the other side someone else also thought the same thing. The only difference was, Shakti wanted to cut Swetlana into thousand pieces before feeding the sharks. While Janvi wanted to tear off every bit off her existence for ruining her married life. She was about to go to Swetlana when Tej asked her to ring up the boys and ask them to come soon.
Here, at the other end of the city, a boy with long hairs stood up on a pedestal in the ruins of daily soap set, giving a final touch to his new statue for his upcoming exhibition. His eyes spoke more than his words. Calm and composed were the two words that defined him perfectly. A complete contrast to his elder brother Shivaay, Omkara Singh Oberoi was far more quite and down to earth. The world thought him to be full of attitude but he was the most fun loving person around his brothers. He was just two years younger to Shivaay but he was the best person on earth whom Shivaay could rely for solution in toughest of situations. That is when his phone beeped and and it flashed the caller's name "Rudra Singh Oberoi"
It was the seveth time that he called his eldest brother but to his dismay, Shivaay's phone would each time say "The number you are trying to reach to is currently unreachable." Rudra was the youngest of all the three brothers, Naughty, smart, dashing, cute and very very adorable. He was the most cunning of all the three brothers. Though his brothers kept him away from the harsh realities of the world yet he was the toughest one to be cracked. He would joke around and become a 2 year old kid in under the kin of a college going dude just to bring a smile on the faces of his brothers. He was just 22 but could tackle the worst of situations in a very easy way. He tried calling Shivaay as it was he who planned that all the three would heed to the temple together. Frustrated he dailed his elder brother Om, whome he lovingly called "O".
Back at the temple Shivaay was just about to sit in the car when he saw a figure approaching him from the other side. He removed his shades and looked at the person wide eyed. Just when he was about to say something a huge crashing sound threw him off guard. In a reflex he bent the other side to save himself from getting any wounds. He looked up only to see that his precious car of worth rupees two crore, having black blazing body with perfectly adjusted mirrors and a luxurious interior design, was now devoid of a windscreen. His Literally screamed at the top of his voice saying "MY Windscreen!!!" He turned with fuming eyes "Are you mad? You broke my windscreen. Do you even know its value?" To his dismay he only received big rolling eyes and an "As if I care" look.
Anika was not the kind of a girl who would cry over an insult. She was a girl with high self-esteem and definitely knew how to return and insult. She now stood infront of Shivaay and slapped him with the same bundle of notes which he threw at her moments ago shaking the wits out of him "You know what Mr. Shivaay Singh Oberoi. I don't keep favours for long. So I thought of returning your favor too and Yes! Off course with an interest. So here I am with my favorite cricket bat breaking your car's windscreen. You see Mr. Oberoi, When I get Angry even I break things which I can very well pay for." without waiting for a reply she just walked away and turning once with a mocking smile leaving a dum founded yet fuming Shivaayb breathing heavily. He heard his phone ringing and received it. It was Pinky asking him to come along with his brothers as soon as possible but before she could complete, the call got disconnected. Shivaay just threw the phone in anger and gifted his phone with the best fate that his other previous phones got.
Oblivious to all, a small packet of naughtiness captured each and everything in a video. Sahil tiptoed behind his angry sister knowing that he would definitely get another heroic videos of her sister. Here, Shivaay's manager noticed Sahil taking the video and asked him to share it with himm too. Sahil being the intelligent one he was, very cunningly asked a thousand rupees in exchange of the video. Mr. Khanna being a loyal manager to Shivaay and a devoted secret agent to Shivay's brothers and Dadi, agreed to pay the amount while Sahil kept a copy with him for future use.
ok i stop it here today.. how was it guys?😃
