Their conversation also reminded me of a similar conversation between Jhanvi and Shivaay from the last chapter. Seems like the Oberois have a singular trait of tricking people into accepting the truth of their feelings. 😉 From 'Liar' to 'Say it', Shivaay was relentless.

Coming to Anika, she is a unique piece, there is none like her! 😆 Zulfiqar?! 🤣 Only she could have a name, even for her hair. But I really felt for her when she realised that for all the illusions of hatred that she had tried to weave around her true feelings, he had seen through it all. I am restlessly waiting to read the next part of the conversation, and I am hoping that since you have split this chapter into two parts, you already have the next part ready and will not keep us waiting too long!

Did I leave you speechless?😎 YAY! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review. Any author would crave a response of this kind and I consider myself lucky to have met so many wonderful reviewers on IF. 😳

Even though Shivaay's character is still quite bland in the show (IMO, he may change as the plot progresses), a potpourri of random shades of black and white with very little evidence of grey, I think he's a dynamic guy whose layers are yet to be fully uncovered. I am attempting to explore these layers through this story and want him to stay in character as long as possible. 🤓 The Shivaay Singh Oberoi in this fic would look at love as a weakness and try to project the same onto the object of his affections, a defence mechanism if you will. He's equal parts intrigued, infatuated and confused at his attraction to a seemingly simple girl, who has no pomp or bling to flaunt, all that he's been taught to treasure.

And I really cannot digest the revenge mode that's taken over his logical mind in the show. I think a simple love story that hinges on the pride, personalities and ego of the main protagonists would still work, without all the OTT drama. But then again, I do not write scripts for Indian soaps and can choose to keep things simple. 😉

I think Shivaay is subconsciously trying to impress the fact that if she returns his feelings or even undergoes a modicum of the turmoil he's going through, he can get some much-needed respite. Even console himself that he's not alone in this battle of wits. 😕 A part-time sadist, really. 🥱

As for Annika, she's helpless in her attraction to a man who's only ever tormented her. But maybe she's also privy to the strong undercurrents of 'something' going on when it comes to him. However, she's not a mind-reader and can only fully understand what he chooses to show her, which is not anything to be cherished at the moment.
