What if things were different…

So, since I started watching this show 2 months ago.. I’ve wondered how this show may’ve been different (possibly better) if Savitri was never kidnapped and tortured by Dadi and instead had left with Suraj to escape her husband’s abuse and Daadi’s denial of the fact. What if she did choose herself over her kids knowing her kids will be fine with the family whereas she wanted more for herself? (Basically what Chachi and Chachu believe to be the case)

What if after leaving her job as Sarlu’s assistant Ishqi went and worked for one of Savitri’s company leading to her and Ishqi meeting and developing a friendship where Savitri shared the trauma she endured under her ex?

What if Rhea didn’t turn all evil on Ahaan and instead left him for not paying her even an ounce of attention he pays towards Ishqi?

There are many more what ifs… do you think the audience would’ve accepted the characters and kept their minds open to understand the complex situations and turmoil the characters found them in mixed with the light hearted scenes we enjoy? I ask because I remember the abuse the actress who plays Sonu went through.. something I found scary since I thought Sonu’s character was written and enacted realistically considering the situation she was in.

I would have definitely enjoyed the scenario you mentioned. They could have shown Savitri as normal woman who left abusive husband. They could have added that she tried to contact Ahaan/Sonu to make her bit positive but dadi stopped her and the later she stopped contacting. this way both dadi and Savitri could be grey and reedemable character but now Dadi is black and Savvy is just victim.

I still think in real plan, Rhea was not negative. Due to low TRPs and lockdown restrictions they came up with this plot to extend resort shooting. If it was not for pandemis, I belive story would have played same tll Ishqi breaks off with Mayank but later it would have been slightly different.They would have shown Ahaan brekaing up with Rhea on engagment day or so then Ishqaan marriage. And Savitri's track would't have started on SR itself. Ishqi would have met Savitri in mental hospital only as she keeps going to old age home.

I'd love to see this but unfortunately Gul has a particular storyline which she never alters, in every show you will find the same story. 🤔
