Well said . 😠His soul is hurt. He won't do it. That scene touched me. That's why this confused state of his is perfect for now. That's how feeling must develop.
Don't you think that misunderstanding about his mother will always stop him from stepping up?? Even if Ishqi don't get married he will feel like a third wheel. He may blame himself. Guilt trips.
Only after his mother's name get cleared he would be confident enough to actually propose Ishqi. But that take too much time.
Yeah, he has too much mental and emotional baggage right now so he is unable to take even baby steps towards her. Yet, when she's in pain he is in even more pain. Ishqi feels a connection to him but she is his life and his soul. He knows it and his anger says it all.
The real growth in his character and what would make people respect him would be if he chooses to clear his heart and mind and embrace his feelings for her, forget about samaaj, etc. in spite of knowing what his mother apparently did. What if her name is never cleared?
After finding out the truth about Maasa today, he realized that a lot of times, injustices are never revealed in a systematic fashion. You often discover them by accident but until then it is up to you whether you choose to be judgmental, neutral, or even eager to learn about the other side of the story. I would actually want him to become more open minded as he spends more time with Ishqi and sees other facets of life, to the point where he himself decides to investigate his mother's history to learn exactly what happened and why.
