Pitch Report | Deep Dasgupta and Matthew Hayden: "The highest number of sixes on an average has been hit at this venue along with Eden Gardens. This isn't the smallest of venues either. Square boundaries - 63 metres and 68 metres, straight down the ground it's 74 metres. It's unusually humid here. On the wicket, it's moist, not tacky in any way but certainly got some moisture in it. Don't be surprised if the fastmen do come into play in the powerplay. Even though it's red soil, I think it'll bounce traditionally but it'll just grip a little bit because of the extra moisture in it. The batters through the middle will be finding it very difficult this evening. Dew hasn't had a massive effect so far. It's overcast, chances are it (dew) might not have tonight either. Six out of six games - chasing teams have won."

Gujarat Titans come into this match on the back of a morale-boosting win. They snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against LSG where they defended a meagre total of 135. Barring that final over assault from Rinku Singh, the Titans have fared pretty well with the ball and Mohit Sharma has claimed two Player of the Match awards in three matches. The experienced duo of Mohammed Shami and Rashid have also been amongst the wickets. The defending champions have a brilliant record while chasing but they'll expect more 'intent' from their batters if they bat first. They have lost their two matches at home. Can Hardik and Co. put up a good show in front of their fans?

Mumbai Indians, after losing their first two matches, won three on the bounce, but suffered a 13-run loss at the hands of Punjab Kings in a high-scoring encounter. Piyush Chawla has been their best bowler this season with the leggie picking 9 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.86. However, the other bowlers have been on the expensive side. It'll be interesting to see if they persist with Arjun Tendulkar who was taken to the cleaners by Sam Curran and Harpreet Singh. MI have a settled batting unit though. The openers are giving them good starts, Cam Green has struck a couple of fifties, SKY is coming back to form and young Tilak Varma is in great touch. Add Tim David's finishing skills to that and Mumbai have an enviable line-up.
