Ram rolled his eyes looking towards confused Lakshman and thought about a solution, he needed fast , a answer to Lakshman , otherwise, his whole plan would got flop.
"Lakshman , we have arrange a Mahadev puja this midnight" , said Ram smilingly looking at Lakshman but he was nervous from inside .
"So , this are the flowers needed for decoration of temple in main hall", continued Ram.
"That is the reason , i have bought you a new dress ", Ram tried to end Lakshman's confusion.
"Servant , put this flowers' basket in the main hall's temple, i'll come and tell you about how to decorate it " , ordered Ram .
"As you say , King" , Servant replied.
Lakshman was now ok and calm after knowing that what was happening in the palace.
Ram sighed relaxing himself after seeing Lakshman satisfied with his reply to him .
"Lakshman , let us go for Surya Namaskar", exclaimed Ram.
"Sure , bhaiya !!", replied Lakshman smiling.
"I am going to call Bharat bhaiya and Shatrughan for the same", said Lakshman.
"No..No Lakshman , you sit here , i am going to call them", said Ram tensedly.
"But why bhaiya ...u sit here , i'll call them", Lakshman said.
"Lakshman, I'm going and usually u always call them , so let me call them today", said Ram.
"Ok then...i am coming too with you", said Lakshman.
"Lakshman , you sit here and am coming , just wait" , requested Ram.
"As you wish bhaiya , then" , said Lakshman leaving a smile.
Ram returned a smile to him.
Ram moved outside the chamber leaving Lakshman inside confused.
"Bhaiya is behaving bit differently today , what is going on", Lakshman looked around confused.
Ram met Bharat and Shatrughan in main hall . They both were busy in preparing for celebrations.
Ram told Bharat and Shatrughan about the morning's incident.
"Bharat , Shatrughan, now , we have to be a bit more alert , a tiny doubt has been pepped up in Lakshman's mind, I satisfied Lakshman with my reply but still , we have to ," said Ram to them.
"After coming from Surya namaskar , I , mandavi , shruthkirti and bharat will become busy for preparations , so Shatrughan , Hanuman and Urmila , u will have to keep an keen eye on Lakshman ", said Ram looking Shatrughan and Urmila.
"As u wish , Prabhu" , replied Hanuman with a gentle smile and folded hands hearing his Prabhu's order.
Urmila who was busy making rolls for sweets got up from her work after hearing her bhaiya Ram's order.
She was looking more beautiful in violet-pink saree than usual. She has dressed up the same way , Lakshman requested her on the auspicious day of Karwa Chauth while gifting her this beautiful saree. Her hairs were clipped from side and in middle parting of her hair was sindoor with beautiful maangtika and a veil that run over her beautiful hair . A radiant glow on her face with twinkling dark-kohled eyes. She was definitely looking like a true beauty from heaven.
"By the way , you are looking very beautiful today , dear " , exclaimed Ram looking at Urmila.
"Arya requested me to dressed up like this when he gifted me this saree on our last karwa chauth and i thought that nothing will be more better day to wear this dress", said Urmila smiling .
"What will you reply to Lakshman if he will ask that is anything special , u wore this today", Ram asked gently.
"Mahadev Puja" she quickly replied . "I heard what you told to Bharat bhaiya and Shatrughan bhaiya" , she brightly smiled and looked at Ram who was just like her elder protective brother to him.
"My sister is very smart", Ram smiled brightly.
"That I am , as my Ram bhaiya " , Urmila laughed. "Don't worry bhaiya , I , Hanuman bhaiya and Shatrughan bhaiya will keep an eye on Arya ", smiled Urmila .
Ram smiled brightly at both of them .
"Shatrughan, you please don't take bad advantage of my order and don't trouble your Lakshman bhaiya for today atleast" , laughed Ram seeing Shatrughan who was in sort of mischievous mood.
"When i am doing that Bhaiya ", Shatrughan pouted like a child.
"Don't make that face , i know you well" , said Ram giggling.
Hanuman , Bharat and Urmila too burst into giggles looking at Shatrughan.
"Shatrughan can do anything , Ram bhaiya", teased Bharat.
"Ram Bhaiya is taking so much time , where is he" , Lakshman said to himself sitting alone in room confused.
The moment he stood , Ram entered the chamber along with Bharat and Shatrughan.
"Come , Lakshman, Let us move", said Ram to Lakshman.
Lakshman without wasting a second moved out to perform Surya Namaskar along with Ram , Bharat and Shatrughan.
After returning doing Namaskar with them , Lakshman make his way for kitchen which was just adjoining to the main hall , Kaikeyi stopped him midway because she saw Lakshman moving towards Kitchen.
"Where are you going , Son Lakshman ? ", asked Kaikeyi curiously.
"Good morning Choti Maa , I'm feeling thirsty so I was heading towards kitchen to drink some water ", said Lakshman tiredly.
"See Lakshman , i even brought it for you" , said Sumitra happily while coming with Kaushalya.
"Maa , what was the need of taking trouble for me , I would have taken myself too", said Lakshman smiling softly.
"You are my dear son Lakshman ", said Sumitra . "Not only u but ours Sumitra , In doing something for lakshman , we feel happy instead of getting troubled", said Kaushalya caressing Lakshman's cheeks.
Lakshman smiled looking at his mothers.
After drinking some water , Lakshman make his way to main hall to see the preparations of Mahadev Puja midnight.
Hanuman stopped him midway.
"Lakshman bhaiya , where are you going inside", said Hanuman with a naughty smile.
"Hanuman bhaiya , I was going inside to see the decorations for Mahadev Puja", said Lakshman smiling.
He again tried to moved inside but Hanuman again stopped him.
"No...no , wait bhaiya , why so hurry ? ", asked Hanuman trying to divert Lakshman's attention.
"Why, what happened hanuman bhaiya ,why are you not letting me go inside ?", asked Lakshman curiously and confused.
"Ah...Uhmmm...Preparations are not done yet bhaiya , you will have to wait till midnight" , said Hanuman smiling.
"Oh..Oh...Hanuman bhaiya ", said Lakshman laughing . I just want to see one look and nothing else", said Lakshman pleading.
"Bhaiya , please try to understand , mandavi didi , shruthkirti didi has herself said this to me to not let anyone come inside , except Prabhu for final take up" , Hanuman gave false reason.
Lakshman sighed , " Mandavi bhabhi ?! Shruthkirti ?! Ok then...!!!
Where is Ram bhaiya and Bharat bhaiya , Hanuman bhaiya , have u seen them , I have not seen them from the moment I returned with them", asked Lakshman tensedly.
"Lakshman bhaiya , Bharat bhaiya and Prabhu has gone outside for the completion of some important task", Hanuman lied.
"What task Hanuman bhaiya ?".
"I don't know Lakshman bhaiya" , Hanuman replied.
"They gone without telling me", murmered Lakshman irritatedly.
Lakshman turned away and started moving irritated .
"Sorry Lakshman Bhaiya , what to do , i have to lie to you first time in my life and I hate doing this but I was left with no option except to lie", Hanuman sighed with sadness and guilt reflected in his eyes.
"But ...But ... From this only , we will be able to make your birthday very special for you ...Your irritation will suddenly change to immense happiness Lakshman bhaiya , I am sure , I am waiting for midnight ", Hanuman smiled with mix emotions of sadness and happiness.
Lakshman was moving irritated in corridors but Angad and Chandraketu hugged their Pa Lakshman making him feel happy.
Lakshman caressed their soft hair , they both looked at him smiling.
Urmila told both of them about their task to not let Lakshman come even near to main hall at any cost and to keep busy him while Lakshman along with his brothers went out for Surya Namaskar .
"Pa , where are you going ", asked Chandraketu.
"Nowhere , you tell son" , replied Lakshman caressing his cheeks.
"Pa , we want to know about Maa" , said Angad.
"So sudden", asked Lakshman.
"Yes Pa , please", pleaded Angad.
"Yes Pa , it will be a fun", said Chandraketu.
Angad and Chandraketu dragged him outside the palace's gates and made him sit on the place where Ram , bharat , he , Shatrughan usually practice and flourish their war skills.
"Tell us now , Pa", pleaded both .
"Ok...Ok ..first come and sit here" , Lakshman replied.
They both ran and sit over Lakshman's lap.
"So tell me , what do you want to know about your Urmila Maa ? ", asked Lakshman raising his eyebrows.
"Tell us , how do you meet her and how do u began liking each other so much ?", Angad asked.
"You both are quite small to listen this", Lakshman laughed.
"Pa , please , tell us , please", Angad and Chandraketu looked up to him with pleading eyes.
"Oh...Ok..Ok..Don't do that ...listen then , When I along with Ram bhaiya and Guru Vishwamitra went to Mithila after killing several demons including demoness Taraka , we were living their as guests of your Nanashri Janak , we were never aware that we would get our better half during this journey , mine and Urmila first meet was weird" , Lakshman giggled at last.
Both looked at him eagerly , their looks were enough for Lakshman to understood that they want to hear more.
"Your Maa was the bubbliest and naughtiest girl among the four sisters of Mithila , she was full of life ", said Lakshman.
"How did u met her Pa , tell please", Chandraketu.
"I saw her first during Sita bhabhi 's syamvar", replied Lakshman.
"You mean badimaa's syamvar , right ?", asked Angad.
"Yes son , at that moment of syamvar when kings from several states were mocking Janak , Urmila was scared for her didi Sita , about her didi's future , she was very protective about her Sita didi just like I am for my Ram bhaiya", said Lakshman.
" Is it ? ", Chandraketu asked . "Yes , she love her Sita didi very much", Lakshman replied smiling.
"Your Maa came to our hut in Mithila , she was peeping through the windows inside , I thought she was spying on us so I aimed her with arrow due to my protective nature for my Ram bhaiya ", said Lakshman giggling.
"What , you aimed arrow at Ma ?", Kids look up to Lakshman in shock . "Tell us more please" , Kids pleaded to Lakshman.
Lakshman was amused seeing his kids so interested in knowing his and Mila's love story.
"She looked at me with "What were you upto ?" look and I got shocked seeing Urmila and put my arrow and bow down then", Lakshman smiled remembering his beautiful past with Urmila.
I asked her that what she was doing there , all of a sudden. She replied to me that she wanted to meet Dashrathnandan. I told her that I am Dashrathnandan , she raised her eyebrows and replied that she wasn't talking about me, she was talking about Dashrathnandan Ram who won her Siya didi in Syamvar , a sense of proud feeling reflected in her voice. I asked her that why did she want to meet Ram bhaiya.
She replied me that - Why should I tell you , I have come here to meet him and I want to ask to him that what kind of food does he likes to eat and she didn't realised that she even revealed the reason in her talks due to her talkative nature , Such was your Maa , Lakshman burst laughing while telling this to his sons.
Angad and Chandraketu chuckled hearing about Maa.
"Then , we began fighting like kids while Ram bhaiya was observing us with a naughty smile on his face" continued Lakshman.
"What !! Bade Pa was observing you and Maa" , said Angad looking towards Lakshman and Chandraketu with a teasing smile on his face.
"Yes , he was observing mine and Urmila's silly fights , he came to us and Urmila bent forward folding her hands in respect to him , Ram bhaiya did the same , she introduced herself to him , Ram bhaiya replied to her that he identified her only looking her at once , he said that Urmila was a reflection of Sita , I got irked.
"But why , Pa ?" asked Chandraketu winking.
"She playfully asked Ram bhaiya to come in the dinner, she teased me saying that why I and Ram bhaiya don't share the fact of reflection , we both are completely opposite to each other , I gave her a daring look. Ram bhaiya giggled withing himself seeing me irritated , I don't like her that time , she used to irritate me a lot , I used to think that staying with her for even a second was a test for patience" , said Lakshman laughing softly.
"With so much difference between You and Maa, how do you both started liking each other ?", asked Angad confused .
"Well , we both used to have many silly fights together untill one day that changed everything", said Lakshman smiling .
"What happened Pa ?", asked Chandraketu curiously.
"One day , Urmila asked Ram bhaiya that she , Mandavi Bhabhi and Shruthkirti wanted to fetch Blue Lotus from a river near forest for prayers but they fear of going alone , so she asked Bhaiya that if I can help them , Ram bhaiya said "Yes" to them , as a result , I had to go along with them for their protection", said Lakshman looking towards both of them who were hooked to his storytelling.
"Then as usual , Urmila started teasing me there too , Mandavi bhabhi saw something in river , she got scared , I tried to look in river but then Urmila took it lightly , she started teasing me again , I got seriously angry and went from there ", said Lakshman .
"Then ?", asked both of them eagerly.
"Suddenly , a giant snake came outside from the water of river when Urmila was trying to take out Blue Lotus , she screamed , Mandavi and Shruthkirti bhabhi shouted for help , I was sitting angrily and irritated on a stone few distance away from the spot , I heard screaming for help voices of Mandavi and Shruthkirti bhabhi. I ran there quickly to saw Urmila numb and trembling with fear , the giant snake was about to attack Urmila , I quickly fired bunch of arrows in it's mouth , Urmila ran towards her sisters , I glared at it angrily , the giant snake went away accepting defeat", said Lakshman.
He saw both of his kids looking at him with their mouth open with amazement.
"This happened , You are so brave , Pa" , Angad and Chandraketu began day dreaming .
Lakshman looked at them and giggled within himself.
"I plucked Blue Lotus from the river and gave it to Urmila , she looked around with discomfort due to fear of the recent happening and finally took the lotus from my hand. She thanked me for saving her life , I replied that it was my duty , if i would have not done this then i would have become your culprit , I replied her teasingly making her blush heavily , that was the first time when I saw your Maa blushing infront of me", said Lakshman smiling brightly.
Angad and Chandraketu couldn't help themselves but to blush imagining the scene.
"The things changed from then , we began liking each other , your Maa began making food for me specially and started bringing food daily for me to ashram , it was great , very spicy but i loved spicy food too." Lakshman giggled.
"We began respecting each other , this wasn't go unnoticed by Ram bhaiya and Sita bhabhi , we got married along with Ram bhaiya - Sita bhabhi , Bharat bhaiya - Mandavi bhabhi and Shatrughan - Shruthkirti on the same day" , said Lakshman smiling brightly .
Urmila was moving with bowl of sweets and saw Angad - Chandraketu on Lakshman's lap and Lakshman was talking to them , she moved a little forward to hear what they were talking.
"Then many twist - turns came in our life , Urmila did a lot for me , She did the most difficult task being a wife , a promise , a promise of never coming between my seva dharm for Ram bhaiya , she accepted whole heartedly the fact that Ram bhaiya will be always my first priority , she understood my love for my Ram bhaiya . She beared separation from me and took my sleep for long 14 years , she did so much for me that I can't return back anything to her except of loving her to core." said Lakshman while a tear slipped from the corner of his eyes.
Urmila listened this and tears of happiness roll down from her cheeks hearing Lakshman's words for her while Angad - Chandraketu smiled with brimmed tears seeing their Pa's love and respect for Maa.
Urmila wiping her tears smiled brightly.
"What other qualities Maa possess that we are unaware of ?" asked Chandraketu looking up to him .
"Your Maa is a great lover of painting and she is well trained in swordfighting too" , said Lakshman looking at their kids' curious and blinking eyes.
Urmila blushed.
"What's going on" , asked Urmila trying to be unaware of their talks because she wanted to talk about Lakshman's words about her later in private.
Lakshman turned to look at her Mila , his soulmate.
"Urmila", said Lakshman stunned looking at her from up to bottom.
