Wow, awesome update di! I so love reading your wonderful posts of SK! The explanations that Krishna gave to Narad about his leelas are so full of gyaan and make me feel like awwww, everything in the universe is just perfect since its controlled by him. Can read this many times over!

And yes, I agree that the love Devaki maa has for Krishna is equal to that of Yashoda. But in JSK they had a different story. They said that Devaki was the reincarnation of Kaikeyi and Yashoda of Kausalya. And since it was because of Kaikeyi that Ram was separated from Kausalya for so many years, Krishna got to be with Yashoda for that long. But both were his mothers when he was Ram and when he was Krishna.

And omg, I've listened to the song Shyaam Tere Kaam Bade Achraj Bhare on yt before! Loved it so much!

So glad you finally reached Swapnil's phase. Since I watched all of Meghan's episodes, I can now compare SK and JSK. And I can definitely see the parallelism between the Swapnil and Shweta scene and the JSK one. There is so much in common! Even the part where Lalitha admits to loving Krishna. And then the one where Krishna dresses up as Radha and the beautiful dialogue that follows! Awww di, you're bringing me back to 2009, back when that show was airing! And I totally agree with you about the dating vs society thing. I too am against dating because as you said, both people are usually strangers and are trying to get to know eachother. There is no real commitment and they're just trying to have fun. And society isn't really bad if it is steering you in the right direction, but that obviously wasn't so in Radha and Krishna's direction.

The Holi scene that you described really does seem very funny. Hope to watch it soon! It must have had a lot of songs in it na, after all its Holi! Wow, can't wait for your next update.

Jai Shree Krishna!

Sabhaku Namasaakaram!
(which means 'Namaskaar to everyone gathered here' in Telugu😆)

So today we covered Shri Krishna Episodes 29-31, which spanned the rest of Radha and Krishna's Leelas as well as began Kans's plan to eliminate Krishna.
Continuing from where we left off last time, Radha and Krishna up in Golok persist in their little debate about love being an illusion. Krishna compares love to a dream and claims that love is neither truth nor untruth, but Radharani says that love is the foundation of the universe and without it, the world would end, so it cannot be an untruth, and neither can it be an illusion. Krishna praises the way in which Radha wins over his argument and asks her how he can repay her debt. Radha tells him that he must feel love and its pain like her, and only then can he be free of her debt. Krishna promises her that he will incarnate on Earth in the Kali Yug with Krishna's body but Radha's heart, and from Navdeep to Vrindavan he will constantly be chanting Krishna's name and longing for him (Chaitanya Mahaprabhu). Radhaji then requests Krishna to teach her the flute, so that she can make him feel as restless as he always does her, and only then will he truly feel the pangs of love as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Down in Golok, younger Radha echo's Golok Radha's request and asks Krishna to teach her the flute, so that she can sleep peacefully at night. Once she learns, she will always beckon to him by its tune and never let him sleep like he never lets her. Krishna agrees and promises to buy a flute for her tomorrow. Radha asks him why she cannot play this. Krishna endearingly replies, "You want a flute that will awaken only Krishna, while my flute once played will awaken the entire universe. Everyone who is in love with me will come here once it is played." Radha becomes indignant by his reply and tells him that it is his vanity which is making him speak this way. Who will love him more than Radha? An amused Krishna tells her, "Now it is you who is showing vanity, and vanity is the enmity if love." Radha retorts that what he considers vanity is the right of love. One who loves has the right to ask for her right. Krishna again tells her, "One should not ask in love but give." Radha gets further angered and draws a line around him. She then makes a vow that only she who loves Krishna as much as her would be able to cross it. She challenges Krishna to prove that his Gopis' love is true. A still amused Krishna picks up his flute and begins playing a melancholy raag which inwardly stops all the Gopis in the middle of their housework no matter where they are in Barsana. Their Sukshma Roop (shadow form) goes to the banks of the Yamuna river where Radha and Krishna are and they all together cross Radhaji's line.
Watch the Episode here:
Realizing her mistake and feeling her pride dissolve, Radha begs Krishna for his forgiveness and guiltily claims that she has been defeated that day. Krishna tells her she is once again mistaken. Radha can never be defeated, because her love is pure, strong, and eternal. He then tells her to look more closely at the Gopis of whom she is jealous, and when she does she sees that her face is reflected on all the Gopis' faces. Krishna tells her that the Gopis are none other than expansions of her, and that he sees her only in all of them. All the lovers in the world are Radha and Krishna, because true love and RadhaKrishna are synonymous.
Radha and Krishna revert to their original positions as Krishna then continues to explain about dwait and adwait. Dwait (dualism) and Adwait (non-dualism) go hand in hand. Dwait is hidden in Adwait, and Adwait in Dwait. All the beings in the world who look different in terms of race, color, gender, etc are not different at all...they are nothing but Radha and Krishna. Every single being in the world, both living and non-living, is Radha and Krishna. Radha then tells Krishna with a loving smile, "The love between Radha and Krishna is different, or how else would the universe survive?" Krishna agrees that love is the basis of the universe, and just then they both hear the devoted voice of Saint Surdas singing about the divine love between Krishna and Radha, Re Manva...Prem Jagat Ka Saar, and they feel a surge of love for this blind devotee of theirs who knows nothing but reverence to them.

We are then taken to Gargacharya's ashram where Akrurji has come to visit him, but before that I would like to comment on this above episode, one of my most favorite ones in SK.😍 I really really loved Golok Krishna and Radha's little debate about love and illusion. SDB did really good in this part, and so did Reshma.👏 I also learned something new in this episode, the story of why Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was born and how he repaid his debt to Radharani through his suffering and love for Krishna. The way Radhaji explained why Krishna was forever in her debt, and why he would never be able to repay it in his original form, was really enlightening and interesting. And back in Bhulok, the entire Radha Garva Bhangam scenes was just soooo well taken.👏 Krishna's lessons on how love is about giving and not asking, how pride has no place in love, and the entire Dwait-Adwait conversation, everything was just so beautifully explained and enacted by Swapnil and Shweta.😍 And the flute tune that Makhan Chor Krishna played, as well as Ashok and now Swapnil in this scene, is my utmost favorite tune in the entire serial and I listen to it at least twice or thrice everyday in my mp3 player, it's so lilting, devotional, and makes me feel like Krishna is with me wherever I go.☺️ One thing I did not like.....they changed the actress who played Lalitha in my moserbaer DVD set. I know she comes back later when Krishna takes leave of the Gopis, but the substitute the editors of the new DVD sets temporarily used in this scene looked over 35 and so not as sweet and loveable as the original Lalitha Sakhi. They also changed Visakha and a few other Gopis, but as they were never given much prominence in the serial before, it's forgiveable.😳 And now since I just cannot wait any longer, let's move on to the Gargacharya and Akrurji scene.😃
Basically, Akrurji has come to Gargacharya's ashram to talk to him about Krishna and Balram's education. He and the Yadav chiefs are troubled by the long rule of Kans and are wondering when their taranhaar will bring an end to the tyrant's life. To be able to defeat such a strong King as Kans (though honestly, he seemed like a dimwitted weakling to me😆....Chanoor was more intimidating), Krishna and Balram will need to be educated in war and politics. An amused Gargacharya tells Akrur that it is not yet time for Krishna's education, and that he is enjoying his Prem Leelas at the moment. When Akrur looks dubious and askanced at this, feeling that such 'romance shmomance' is a waste of time in the face of such urgency, Gargacharya explains to him the beauty and importance of love. He tells Akrur that Krishna is Purnavatar, and that he will teach people to live a complete life with both love and politics. At the moment, he is teaching the world about love and politics has no place in it. Akrur claims that love is all good in its place, but what need is there for it in today's politics? Gargacharya explains to him that the world does not run on politics, that love is the support of the universe and without it, all of creation would collapse. Devotion begins with love, and love completes life. Shri Krishna will teach humans that living is an art, and one must love to live. Just then, the blind poet Surdas arrives at the ashram.
Surdas requests Gargacharya to bless him with just a momentary glimpse of sight so that he can behold Krishna's human form. Gargacharya asks him who taught him his song, and Surdas replies that no one did. He merely expresses his feelings in words, and in his mind's eye he can see a small boy grow from infancy to youth. Gargacharya affectionately tells him that even after years of penance, sages and seers cannot see this Bal Roop of Krishna, and Surdas is so fortunate to behold it himself. Surdas then asks him whether he will get salvation after his current life, and Gargacharya tells him that no, he will not, because he will be needed in the Kali Yug. When devotion begins to lack, he will have to sing his songs and rekindle people's faith in the Lord. He will achieve salvation after teaching millions of people about God. An overjoyed Surdas thanks him over and over again for telling him this, because he has just been given another chance to serve the Lord. What more could he ask for?
After Surdas leaves, Akrur realizes the importance of love (as manifested in Surdas) and decides to give Shri Krishna some time to exhibit his prem leelas before worrying again about his education. Clearly, the time has not yet come for Kans's demise...though it is near.
I really love this part of the episode a lot, the way Gargacharya begins his discourse by saying, "Krishna's education is hidden in his flute..." he is clearly trying to show Akrur that Krishna is the Guru of the Universe, what education does he need?😆 Akrur also made a good point when he said, "One must not sit using faith as an excuse, he must act as per his duty." Shri Krishna himself displayed this throughout his avatar, as well as every one of his other avatars. But I loved Gargacharya's reply even more, when he says, "Thinking of the divine power gives us strength to act. We do not become restless, because we know Karma will eventually play out...the right time has just not come yet." We can relate with Akrur's anxiety, as it must not have been easy being forced to be so submissive to Kans and not having the power to do anything about it, but the way Gargacharya not only reassures him but us as well, that we must never act out of urgency when faced with adversity, but wait for the right time and then act....it is one of the most important life lessons.😍
What happens after that is a quick succession of RadheKrishna scenes, with the Gopis and Radha all performing a Gauri Puja to seek the husband of their hearts (i.e. Krishna). Gauri Ma is pleased with their prayers and appears to them in her real form. The Golok Roop of Radharani appears in front of Gauri Ma and asks the divine mother to fulfill her heart's desire in being united with Shri Krishna. Gauri Ma tells her that she (Radha) is the mother of the universe and yet she acts like a simple human girl who is anxious for a union with her beloved. Gauri Ma blesses all the Gopis and tells them that their heart's desire will come true soon.

After that, the Gopis all wait for the full moon day and assemble at the banks of the Yamuna river when they hear the call of Krishna's flute. Krishna appears before them, takes many forms when he realizes that all the Gopis wish for him, and dances the Maharaas Leela with them. Krishna is shown as the Paramatma while Radhaji as the Jeevatma, and this union between God and soul is exalted by all three worlds and all the Devtas alike.

There is really not much to say about the above scenes, as we all watched them soooo many times and love them to pieces for the sheer devotion and magnitude of the scenes. But they are definitely re-watchable and every time we see them (at least for me), they are only sweeter and more meaningful.😳 I just love the scene where Gauri Ma appears and speaks privately with Radharani, their conversation was so sweet and the lady who played Gauri Ma was really beautiful and serene. She was the same one who played Yogmaya, right? Or am I wrong?😳 Anyhow, I hope you all are enjoying my SK journey with me. We are just about done with the RadheKrishna phase, as Akrur is soon about to be sent to Gokul to fetch Krishna and bring him to Kans. The next entry will begin with Kans's unrest.
Till then....
🤗Jai RadheKrishna!🤗
Love,
Janu

Can read this many times over! I know, the various Krishna lectures in this show are sooooo inspiring and make us feel so hopeful about the world.😍 Sometimes whenever I feel that evil in this world is just too much to bear, I remember that it is all God's leela, and that everything we are seeing and feeling is his illusion only, and I feel a bit better.😳

I heard of this story in a folktale before, but I don't know how true it is....it is an interesting concept though, and def does make sense when we take Karma into consideration. I remember I posted this story in the Ramayan Forum before, and we had a discussion about it too.

And omg, I've listened to the song Shyaam Tere Kaam Bade Achraj Bhare on yt before! Loved it so much! I know, I love the song sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much that I heard it like 4-5 times on the way to Uni on Friday.😆 I just love the beats to it, and the Manmohan Lalla song afterwards is really lovely too.

So glad you finally reached Swapnil's phase. Since I watched all of Meghan's episodes, I can now compare SK and JSK. Very well put.👏 I also agree that society can steer us in the right direction when we're doing wrong, but with RadheKrishna it was not the case like you said....we just have to differentiate when the society is wrong and when it is right.

The Holi scene that you described really does seem very funny. Hope to watch it soon! It must have had a lot of songs in it na, after all its Holi! Wow, can't wait for your next update. There was actually only one song, but it was long and fun to watch and hear, you can see it in the vid I provided, you'll love it.😊 Both Swapnil and Shweta were so cute in it, and it was funny seeing the Gokul elders also losing themselves in fun.😆

Very strange concept for me Janaki but interesting definitely. I would say that it doesn't make sense to me even if we take Karma into consideration (Lola will have lot more to say about this in her reserved post and you might also then like to share something about that discussion you had before in Ramayan forum) Keikei mata had already suffered the fruit of her action by going through the pain of repent herself through those years in the same birth. She herself was neglected and hated during those years by her own son because of this (And Bharat also was acting king - raja se dand paa kar praani nishpaap ho jata hai - though he actually left Keikei and/or Manthra to be punished only by Ram the real king and he himself didn't intentionally do it. This addition in bracket may not be necessary though). She not only got punishment but also the realization about the action-punishment relationship. Paschaataap was done (whether or not punished by the king but that's the point I want to make). So I find no logic of taking another birth for bearing the fruit of that action. I also find similar problem in believing the story of the hunter in the end of Dwapar to be the rebirth of Vaali.

Moreover, if we still believe the story, then what similar wrong Kaushalya mata did after 14 years throughout the life that she had to be reborn as Yashoda to live the life of separation after Kansvadh? So the story lacks consistency of same logic here with this loophole. And Kaushalya mata could stay in Chitrakoot with Ram for the 14 years after meeting him there since Dashrathji was no more but she didn't stay there by her choice then due to her love, and care for Bharat and concern about him and possibly the wish of Ramji. So again, Keikei in a sense can't be held directly responsible for separation but for exile only. However, one can always argue here also that Nand-Yashoda could also go to Dwarika to stay and to live with or closer to Krishna leaving Vraj after retiring from their duties as King-Queen of Vraj.

And also one more funny question. What could be the logic of Keikei behind asking for exile for EXACTLY 14 years? Not 10. Not 15. Not 20. What could be the Vaidik or Shaastriya or political or legal or practical significance of such odd number multiple of 7? 😃 There should be some reason though unwritten in Ramayan epic itself. The number can't be that random. Even if it was Yogmaya's or Saraswati ma's inspiration, then also there should be some mythological answer of number 14 somewhere connected to some previous births before Treta then. We may not continue the discussion of the Ramayan issues posted by me here but just thought to post here only at the place which is responsible for such question coming in mind (The question in logical link was generated in mind as principles of Karma in the story are so precise and particular in their mathematical calculation of human years for giving karmphal). Similar question can also be asked about Duryodhan asking for condition of 12 years exile and not more and a number not multiple of 5 or 10 (possibly in those days, like today, 5 or 10 may not be common easy multipliers in use due to numerology significance). Should the answer of the question be purely taken as one word - numerology? 14 number lucky for Keikei/Bharat (Fulfilling her desire initially and purifying her spiritually later and giving glory to her sons and welfare to the world) or unlucky for Ram (Sitaharan happened only in the last year)?

I am yet to read the last edited post by you Janu but now I am eager for your entry on Dwait-Adwait convo and my most favourite scene of Garg-Akrur-Blind poet as Lola had rightly pointed out that that scene has the potential to create from it at least 10 different topics of discussion in our 'to do' list for the future someday one by one.

Posting for the first time but continuously in this thread as you know. This time I naturally and logically was driven to post my view due to so many new questions arising in mind and also Ramayan-Krishna connection always is so inspiring, isn't it?.😊

Great going Aishu, Vedo and Janu.👏👏👏

Wow Shivang, loved your input in the story. And you are right in that Keikeyi already had suffered for her mistake during Ram Avatar so there needn't be a reason for her to suffer again. But in Mahabarat, Ekta Kappor's one so I am already doubting it for its legitimacy, it said that the pashyatap was mainly to get Vishnu as her son. If that was so, then she still would have to suffer for that mistake. Don't know if this is true at all though.

And you're right again. Numeralogy is quite a big deal in hinduism. I googled this for a while to find out about fourteen. For the number fourteen, well there are the fourteen sources of knowledge: the four vedas; the six Angas or limbs of the Vedas; Mimamsa, Nyaya, the Puranas and Dharmasastra. And according to cosmology aren't there supposed to be 14 universes? 7 higher ones and 7 lower ones?

@ Aishu,

Just remembered the Lyrics from the song 'Ram darbaar hai jag saara', while reading your post. This song has the words - "Roop viraat dhare to chaudah bhuvan maahi nahi aate hai"- so here also we can find the reference to the '14 Universe' you referred to in your post.

Hi guys! Sorry I took so long in watching the episode!

Well I watched Kans's rajabhishek! Omg, what a big fat liar he is! He made up all that trash about his father becoming so engrossed in bhakti that he gave up everything. He was a great bhakt, but how dare Kans use God's as a ways of getting what he wants? And why did he even elaborate so much as the hut in which Ugrasen is supposed to inhabit but doesn't? Just so dumb. I felt that Akrur's expressions were spot on during this scene. He totally had that look that said, "Good God, can you belive this guy?"

And then the scene shifted to Gokul where Nand's older brother, Upnand, made him the chief of the village. That happy scene contrasted so much with the Karaghar at Mathura. I felt so sad to see Devaki and Vasudev sitting there with nothing to do, in chains. And then Vasudev's brings them food and the letter from Akrur. That scene was so cute! The actor tried so hard to get a bihari accent, lol. And Vasudev's dialogue on faith was also so beautiful. Even Radha and Krishna in Goloka commented on that. And Krishna even gives his salutations to Devaki as being the motherly form of Shakti. That was sooooo sweet!

But then we saw Kans kill many of Devaki's children. That was so sad! The song "Tu Dhiraj Mat Haat" was a very beautiful song, but still, I felt so bad watching that part.

@ Lola - thank you sweetie! 🤗 I have as much fun reading your comments as you do mine. I promise to get that Hari-Hara thread up and running asap. Please don't forget to share the links when you find them...I would love to see/read more about the actor! He has won my heart so...I can't think of a more perfect toddler Kanhaiya! ❤️

@ Janu - thank you! 🤗 I finally read your December 17th entry and I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed it! 😍

@ Shivang Bhaiya - thank you for your wonderful input and explanation on the topic of Devaki Ma being an incarnation of Kaikeyi Ma...your thoughts were simple and makes so much sense, I agree with you 100%! Looking fwd to your input here more often! 🤗

@ Aishu- You're right, even after knowing that it was all Shri Krishna's Leela and all of Devaki Mata's other children HAD TO die for him to descend it is still hard to watch! And the song "Tu Dheeraj Mat Haar' is soo touching!..i criend when I was watching that epi.
I'm enjoying reading your entries very much! 🤗 Can't wait to read more!
