Another important point is that as the show goes on how will the girls do?
In Indian Idol seasons 1-3, there were no girls in the top 3, leading to speculation of sexism against girls in the Indian voting public.
This changed in season 4 when 2 girls reached the top 3 and the first ever female Indian Idol was crowned. Season 5 saw another girl reach the top 3, but in season 6 no girls reached the top 3.
