(before someone comes and trys to fight with me)
go and see all the videos of prashant in youtube.
in many of them prashant has said that-
ne is a nepali babu, nepali banda.

He is an Indian first and foremost (I am sure he'll say so if asked)...I think currently his ethnic identity is getting too much attention over his national identity which IMO is unfortunate.

he would receive this honour from the Govt. of Nepal ONLY for being INDIAN IDOL.. Did they know / care about Prashant tamang before?
Now the INDIAN Idol is an honour and a responsibilty towards India. If they invite him to become a cultural ambassodaor between Nepal and India in order to streghthen the attempts of a friendlie political relation, I may consider that. But as an ambassodor of Nepal tourism, he would only help in florishing their economy at the expense of INDIAN money and time invested in him. He must be asked to step down as an Indian Idol and go ahead if he wishes to. If he can win the competetion for being an Indian Sepoy😉, then better not work on improving tourism of foreign countries.

Just my opinion. I do not know him personally and know that it is none of my business to judge his future decisions 😳

That is a weak argument😆. Still an argument...😆

Honoring and supporting is something different than using someone. Nepal govt. honoring Prashant is indeed a noble deed but him accepting to be a promoter of their tourism is not acceptable.

I guess you will not have any problem if SRK is brand ambassador of Pakistan's tourism.😉 (but you can't compare Pakistan with Nepal...can you? So many Nepalese live in India, and same for Indians in Nepal...we are too closly linked. BTW, Pakistan will never accept an Indian muslim as brand ambassador bec'se that'll be a slap on existance of Pakistan itself😆)

Now all the hue and cry on this forum doesn't make sense to me any more. As I said chith bhi meri, patth bhi meri..seems to be correct in this case😉 (something is better than nothing😆...we must understand that India-Nepal relationship is rare between nations)

I rest my case.😛

I concur with your views esp. the red highlighted part.
