Prashant Tamang, one of the top three contestants on music talent show Indian Idol, at NJP station on Monday morning. Thousands lined the road to Darjeeling to welcome a cavalcade of about 100 vehicles that had gone to Siliguri to receive the Calcutta police constable. Such was the rush that the cavalcade had to stop every 500 metres. The 24-year-old singer, who paid a visit to his alma mater, St Robert's School, as soon as he reached Darjeeling, said: "This seems like a dream to me." Later, he thanked the people for their support. "The love that you have shown me is overwhelming and I sincerely believe that your support and love can make me the Indian Idol," he said.
