for me it was dead singing. The song was sung when the mother loses her son and not for once did i find that feeling or the expression in the song. She sang it to sing it thats all , no feeling but in sur and taal.
like in competitions where we just focus on singing well and ignore the expressions.
I didnt feel the connection, the song was supposed to be touching which wasnt there when she sung it.
she started off-key but was fine after that.

I didn't find her off-key at all. I heard it twice. I am confused. Am I missing something?😕

Though I didn't find her off-key still I would support the view that they should stop making contestants walk and sing. They are still learners and not some accomplished singers.

maya, i think deepali was good but this was definitely not her best performnce...she was in sur...but a spark was missing in her singing..the soul of the song was missing..thats what i felt.. 😊

n except deepali...i thought anu malik's comments were bang on target for every other contestant..

parleen...he was the worst today imo..he was screaming..not singing

Manali, I am not saying that it was Deepali's best but it didn't deserve Anu Malik's strange comments. Had he said that she was missing a bit of soul then I would agree but he said off-key and then said sur was there and dead singing. Anu Malik seemed confused and first performer bore all the brunt.

I think Anu Malik had high expectations of her so the strong criticism.

Deepali was soSOOOO not dead in singing...the song is sung by a mother who has lost her son, I thought she caught the emotion beautiful... what was missing was the power in the song. Other than that, it was def. not off key or off sur !!!

Anu Malik was good 2day, I felt a bit too harsh though, he didn't give a good praise to any of the gals but all the guys got gud comments !!!

I agree with the soul in the song but Anu Malik wanted a beedi type performance in that song otherwise why would he compare Parleen's performance with hers?

I am sure then I am missing something. Every song needn't be sung according to how it was picturised in movie. Deepali perfectly delivered what the song demanded. May be some soul was missing but dead singing? No. I don't think so.
