Idols go home

Idol contestants Meenal Jain and Antara Mitra with Meenal's mother Daksha Jain

After two months with the Indian Idol shoots, contestants of the Sony show finally had a chance to go home on Thursday to spend time with their families. Participant Meenal Jain invited fellow contestant Antara Mitra(who is from Kolkata) to spend the day with her at her Andheri home.

Both received a warm welcome and Meenal also got the chance to catch up with her Mamaji — who was surprised to see her at home. Meenal's mother, Diksha Jain, kept addressing Antara as her daughter and made shrikhand especially for her.

For Antara, who hails from a small village, didn't know what shrikhand was, but then liked it very much ! At the end of it all, Antara was so touched by the gesture that she was in tears — she was missing her parents.

To make her mood lighter, Meenal took her to a nearby park and they played like two little kids! While this was going on, Meenal's neighbour who loves Meenal like her own daughter, baked a cake especially for the duo, which they freaked out on.

guys I heard meenal and antara on radio city(vermap thanks)they sounded so happy to be together 😊 .though I am an antara fan,I have always said meenal is such a doll.how can I ever ever say a word against her (same goes for karunya and amey).girls dont have much of a chance to make it.let us encourage them.what is exciting is that both meenal and antara are as different as chalk and cheese.I am sure both are hoping that one of the guys would leave next week 😉 .it will be very very lonely for them otherwise(and boring for us 😉)
