Please post your final random thoughts on the season and finale over here

Here are some of mine

- Great, great season starting from the top 16-17 contestants. Generally for a change it seemed like the contestants knew how to sing and could actually sing some different types of songs.

- The musical mentors at the beginning of the galas was great. LaxmiKant Pyarelal, SEL, Asha Bhosle etc,.

-The girls were remarkably poor this time around

-Rakesh-Sreeram fights on the forums were entertaining and hilarious to the max.

-Sunidhi also added much needed drama by her apparent bias against Sreeram most of the season.

_ Sreeram not only sang some great songs but towards the later part of the show he overcame his inhibitions and gave some really watchable performances.

- The Kawwali gala was the best in terms of overall performances. All of them were excellent in that one.

Grand Finale random thoughts

- It's a shame that stars come to these finale shows only for self-promotion. It looks so horribly cheap for Kareena Kapoor to promote her movie and AB to promote KBC.

- I thought that in Sunidhi's performance, her dance and outfit was a bit improper and not befitting the occasion.

- They should really change the format of the finale to give more time for the contestants and the runner up to air their thoughts. I don't think anyone really cares for those dance performances that much.

-Amitabh Bacchhan's hindi is impeccable.

- Sreeram's one line imitation of Amitabh was spot on and so good.

- Is it just me or is Bhoomi the perfect choice for an RJ?

- Salim really hugged Sreeram hard when he won😆

I guess that's for now. Please feel free to add more if you want to.

all the thoughts are aptly put sushruthaji.

hussain minus abhijeet plus mini would have done wonders.

instead of wasting time in showing performances from previous episodes, they should have asked the opinions of other contestants present on the finale about their choice ?(to be The Indian Idol 5) in between the performances.
Parents of sreeram are too sweet . they spoke nothing but still their feelings towards their son came across.😃

I didn't watch the whole finale episode yet....I just watched the final winning moment😛
I loved Sreeram's expression when his picture came on that screen.....he was like"who is that on the screen? Oh thats the old me"😆 And I am really happy that he got the title from none other than Amitabhji😳
I will watch the whole finale as soon as I get back home😃

Yes Sreeram's parents were so sweet. Even when his dad came in the beginning gala, I liked his attitude.
Aww...Sreeram's mom was in tears.
Bhoomi's mom was atleast trying to look happy but Bhoomi's looked really upset. I didnt get to see Rakesh's parents.

Hmm.. I'll reserve this spot. Initial thoughts for now:

1. Anu Malik fell out of form as a judge. He began in a dhamakedaar way, by threatening to quit even before the show was launched. He picked the right time to push for the judge's veto. Jaan of the II5 auditions, he was funny, critical and entertaining. I still remember the audition with the guy singing 'Kamar hai patli, ada hai qatli, chhuan se tere lage hai bijli' and Anu carried on singing 'tujhse dil bhar gaya, ab dhoondhu main agli!'

He had his high points after that too - with some funny shers, incisive commentary and bindas entertainment. But affter the whole controversy with Swaroop's family, he calmed down and stuck to praising everyone. It became all about his shayari... However he did keep the entertainment alive by being more uninhibited than he has ever been on II by dancing and singing soooo much!

Also forgot to agree with rths about Hussain. He is really a great host and his presence is really necessary for II to shine. He brings a warmth to his hosting that is missing in the other hosts.

2. Salim Merchant, for whom I had high hopes, turned out to be a simple place filler. He added NOTHING to the judges lineup as the show progressed, imo. He started off well, riding high on his fledgling singing career which took off with Kurbaan Hua and Aye Khuda, which was ruling the airwaves at the time of II5 launch. He was the chocolate boy during auditions and he seemed a great judge at the beginning, with his own opinions. But then, he continued giving the same comments again and again. Boring and predictable.

Incidentally, I thought his brother was a better judge than him, since he actually had something different to say!

xobile ,some how I am forcing myself to say this anu mallik is sweet heart😳😆 ,very happy to say that his prediction on sreeram came true and he was impeccable in his judgement most of the time.
I am unable to comment much about the quitting and threatening part,as I am not fully aware of it.

Couldn't agree more. I thought he was a bit better towards the end but still lacks the strong, emphatic quality of a judge. Agree about his brother as well.
