1. Anu Malik fell out of form as a judge. He began in a dhamakedaar way, by threatening to quit even before the show was launched. He picked the right time to push for the judge's veto. Jaan of the II5 auditions, he was funny, critical and entertaining. I still remember the audition with the guy singing 'Kamar hai patli, ada hai qatli, chhuan se tere lage hai bijli' and Anu carried on singing 'tujhse dil bhar gaya, ab dhoondhu main agli!'

He had his high points after that too - with some funny shers, incisive commentary and bindas entertainment. But affter the whole controversy with Swaroop's family, he calmed down and stuck to praising everyone. It became all about his shayari... However he did keep the entertainment alive by being more uninhibited than he has ever been on II by dancing and singing soooo much!

Agree about Anu Malik. He is the life of this show but my impression is that he quieted down because he didn't get along really well with Sunidhi and Salim. And both the channel and the fellow judges somehow think it's ok to make fun of him whatever he says. IMO he has a lot more constructive criticism to offer than it appears but the channel has curbed his expression a lot.

3. This is the second time that I saw a winner in the auditions and my prediction came true! During II2, I spotted Sandeep as the winner (although I later felt that Karunya was way better). And this time round, I felt Sreeram was the best as soon as I saw his audition!

4. On Sunidhi - she was a great judge. Although many people didn't appreciate her apparent bias against Sreeram, I really liked her. Her presence was a big part of II5's success IMO (and II5 IS a success). Wish we had more performances by her though...

5. After Uditji appeared on the show, I only had ONE tamanna unfulfilled - why did they not have more singing performances by ABHIJEET SAWANT? He's a great singer and the judges could have held him up as an example! The only time I felt that Abhijeet's presence was beneficial was during the theatre rounds when he started crying, thinking about his II experiences..😭

I don't get the adulation for Abhijeet Sawant. I didn't watch II 1 and watched a few of his videos online. He is good and in sur but not great. Somehow I think people adore him more because he was the first guy to win.

Also forgot to agree with rths about Hussain. He is really a great host and his presence is really necessary for II to shine. He brings a warmth to his hosting that is missing in the other hosts.

I agree Hussain is a professional and he does his job the best.

Although I like Abhijeet's singing he sucks big time at anchoring, can anybody look at the way he introduced Head of Tata Motors marketing(or some department ) in the Indian Idol crowning ceremony.
