People fail to understand that Udit has more singing experience and awards. Music directors choose Udit over Sonu to sing any day because of Udit's voice quality and ability to sing the song beautifully.

abt Rafi...both consider him their idol. But UN's voice is nothing like his while SN's has a "jhalak" as PKS said. IMO, Sonu has used this god gift really well. When he was new, he followed Rafi's style but with time and experience he developed his own unique style. Apart from voice, he has much more qualities of his idol such as versatility, musical creativity, stage presence etc. There are also many things that make him different from Rafi. For example, the western influence in his singing and the fact that he is not just a playback singer. But I guess a lot of these opportunities didn't exist back then. But they do exist now, duno why UN doesn't explore them.
