as per the trend barring Indian Idol 1 - abhijeet sawant, i think the winner's important qualities for judges/janta are:

the person has to be from a small town.....

should have subdued personality......

i do sincerely hope we get a better idol this time.........

Anybody can win.... the last 2 Indian Idols proved this. But Mohit's singing today was mediocre.

Mohit is a very awesome person, to be the winner. =)
He has a band too btw .. called Rooh, and has won
many compittions aswell .. very sweet guyyy to talk
to aswell. And, sings great .. is sweet, and i think
he can make it too the top. =)

He sings well, but there are better ones. Like, Ubale, Prasenjit and Bhanu. Going by the mood of the public, I think looks wont matter at last.

Someone like Bhanu has a better chance to be the idol, if it is not a girl this time.
