Today is not definitely Arunita's best day. She was very nervous, froze up, and songs were not best for her voice. I will have to admit I miss Sireesha who would have been simply superb for those exact songs. I am sure she(Arunita) will bounce back.

Every one else was above average and I would not blame them. AR's songs are simply impossible to do in live unless you are a pro.

Best of today have been SMP, Ashish, and Danish.

Just watched the episode. I think all the contestants should have got a chance to perform in front of A R Rehman. It’s sad that sayli, Anjali didn’t get that chance. Especially that he specially mentioned that he follows Anjali. at least Sawai sang duet with Danish.

About performances today, I thought Ashish and Danish did really well. Also liked SMP ‘s udi udi ... she did well. Today unfortunately wasn’t Arunita’s best... may be nervous. She was good but not acing it like she does everytime ... there were moments of discomfort felt on high notes. I hope tomorrow she will bounce back. Couldn’t connect to nihal’s singing ... the song was tough.

Sireesha has done playback for 1 of the tracks of 99 songs... the show should have acknowledged and be proud that she was their contestant... never mind .

Did I hear it right that judges are going to leave it to audience voting?
I wish very speedy recovery for Pawandeep and hope all contestants take care and stay safe.

May be after they got so much bashing for Nachiket's elimination as bottoms were decided as per the judges scores...

But if they are completely leaving it to audiance then why did they punch scores for today's performances

Btw i haven't heard anything like that... I watch it on sony liv...not sure if it was there in tv episode

I heard Neha kakkar say it in the upcoming( just before the ad) but then it wasn’t shown in today’s episode.

Danish and Sawai nailed kun faya kun, what a beautiful performance by both of them.

My 2 cents
I liked the episode today .. because there was no crap Drama and only performances. The way a singing reality show should be. Performances were not best because the contestant took too much pressure. SMP singing a little classical was a treat to watch, I liked that. Arunita was OK, Ashish tried very hard, Nihal was so so, Danish was same. Neha still did her drama though. Anjali not singing today was a bit weird though.

It was such a pleasure to watch today’s episode, there was no OTT drama. And no mausam badal diyas!!

None of the performances were noteworthy today.

1. Nihal - lackluster like always. His singing sounds like he’s singing a lullaby. It was putting me to sleep.

2. Arunita - I don’t know what I didn’t like but I’ve grown up listening to the songs she sang today, and I’ve heard them in competitions numerous times, but today it just didn’t sound right. In Kehna hi Kya, during the sargam her voice was thinning out at the high notes. She still sang pretty well overall.

3. Danish - he ruined chaiyya chaiyya for me. And those aalaps in the beginning were too much. For a second I thought his vocal chords might burst.

4. SMP - I actually enjoyed Udi Udi, she did add a little bit of her own, but largely she stuck to the original composition and that’s why I probably liked it. The second song, I didn’t like one bit. She tried to sing in 3-4 different voices and it didn’t work for me.

5. Ashish - As a performer he’s brilliant, as a singer not so much. His pronunciation needs improvement (I always say that), his words run into each other, there’s very little clarity.

I enjoyed Kun Faya - Sawai sounded like his usual self, Danish sounded so much better than in his performance.
I quite liked that AR Rehman didn’t praise anyone to the skies like many guests in the past have

I applaud the people who still have patience to listen to Danish’s alaps.. every time he starts them I just hit fast forward. It’s by far my biggest gripe with him because there is usually nothing to fault with his actual singing itself. He has perfect pitching and possibly the best range but his arrangements are so extra.

I remember once on another show ARR mentioned that if you try to do something more with a song but keep repeating the same thing throughout viewers will lose interest by the end. That’s what I always think of when I hear Danish.

I was waiting for this too! So sad that this channel has zero respect for her 🙄 At least she can rest easy knowing that she got bigger compliments from ARR in the past than anyone who sang today did.

ARR movie 99 songs is slated for release on April 16. He appeared on II with Ehan his lead actor Film will be released in 3 languages.
