Not fair judges choosing who to eliminate. No wonder they are saving SMP and Nihal. If viewers votes were taken into account, by now SMP would have been out. I have seen negative comments about her on twitter after her performances. Those who tweet should tag Vihsal as well, then he would know what public think of his favourite

I though judges marks have 50% weight and audience 50%, basis that the bottom 5 and one gets eliminated.
but if the judges choose the bottom 5, SMP will never go

Indiaforums article on Shakti Kapoor recommending SMP. Lot of publicity for her on indiaforums too😛

SMP is a great yodeler. But as a singer, she is a one trick pony. Extremely average if she sings a straight song with no yodeling. She wouldn’t go far on American Idol.

SMP was a surprise and much feted during her debut as a young singer on the junior singing show a few years ago. Her yodeling was a surprise and a novelty. Now, not so much.

I just finished watching today’s episode and I’m so annoyed. But more on that later. Like Aditii said some of the fans were downright creepy, especially that elderly couple. You could see how embarrassed Sireesha was. This is a singing reality show, not some swayamwar!

Coming to the performances:

1- Sireesha - she was fantastic. She chose the perfect song for her and I couldn’t find any fault. This is the Sireesha I was missing. See how much better she sings when she doesn’t have to adjust to another singer.

2- Nachiket - hats off to his creativity, performance wise he was fantastic, he even sang very well, but it was not an outstanding performance (basis singing only). Very good yes, but one step away from mausam badal diya for me. He’s been on a high for the last few weeks.

3 - Danish - I loved his performance! I was waiting to find faults, because I realize that there’s no performance where I can find faults in him. His grasp on his art is commendable. He was undoubtedly the star of today.

4 - Pawandeep - like always he sang well, and the emotional story before his performance made us all ‘feel’ the song. I still think he’s a mechanical singer, even though I enjoyed his performance today.

5- SMP - why!!! I didn’t enjoy the song. Haven’t heard it before, but if it sounds anything like she sang, I don’t even want to. Because she gets a Mausam badal diya every time, I think it’s lost its value.

6- Nihal - I enjoy watching his performance because you can see he’s having fun. But he went off tune, out of breath and couldn’t keep up. I don’t understand how he’s still on the show.

Ashish - I liked him better today than most days, but I won’t say he did justice you the song. It was a good performance, but that’s about it. I’m glad it wasn’t a peppy number, this week we got to see him sing outside his comfort zone.

Sayli - Amazing!! She reminds me of the hare and the tortoise tale. Till a few weeks ago, nobody thought of her as a strong contender, but the last two weeks she’s hit it out of the park. I honestly think this year the female contestants are better than the males.

Anushka - this isn’t an easy song to sing, and she looked so calm and composed. Her performance was flawless. She deserved the mausam badal diya, but the judges knew she’s leaving and didn’t want the audience to think how can she go out when she sang so well. I’m so surprised that even Neha had something good to say about her performance.

Sawai - I’m not sure I enjoyed this performance. Honestly, it wasn’t bad, but it seemed along with his makeover, he was trying to give his singing style a makeover too, as subtle as it may be. I’d just say it was an okayish performance.

Arunita - she was good, like always. I have such high hopes from her, and she doesn’t let me down. So far she’s sung only a certain kind of songs, and she’s done well. I see her as a potential winner, but I want the winner to be someone who can sing all kinds of song.

Anjali - she did justice to the song. Did I enjoy it? No. This is a style suited to Anjali, but it’s repetitive. We saw yesterday that there’s more to Anjali. I’d like her to explore different genres. Of course today’s song was a request from the audience.

The bottom 5 we’re - Anushka, Anjali, Ashish, Nachiket and Sireesha! Like really? Does the audience look like fools?
Ashish gets a Mausam Nadal diya almost every other performance. Nachiket has gotten atleast 3 in the last three weeks. Even Anjali has gotten atleast 2.
Doesnt mausam badal diya means it was an amazing performance. Shouldn’t they get higher judges scores?
Inspite of high judges scores and a decent fan following - Ashish, Nachiket and Sireesha were in the bottom, but Nihal and Sawai weren’t?
I’m not even adding SMP here, because I’m sure the judges give her 10/10.
And Harsh was only surprised to see Ashish in the bottom 5!! Infact I’d say he was the weakest in the bottom 5.

I can’t wrap my head around the fact (or not) that Sawai and Nihal had a better score.
This show has lost all credibility in my eyes.

Reg the creepy fans, it is obvious that it is all scripted. They are made to say & behave so. ( May be they get paid too for such an appearance.) How else do you explain the ladoo thing - it can’t be pure itefaq that they mention it & lo the ladoos are ready on the set to gobble! 😳😡

I skipped SMP , my tolerance level has become zero in her case. Can’t stand her shrieking, the judges’ jumping, and the mom’s expressions , as if neha’s is not enough! And boy ! Wasn’t I lucky! Thank god I didn’t have to witness the crowning or whatever.

She will be in the top 5! 😡. Anushka is way better than her & she gets eliminated. Sad.

yes, everything is scripted. I always think I’ll skip SMP’s performance but I really watch it to see how biased the judges can be.

Sometimes I think even Nihal is better than SMP. Atleast he tries different stuff.

I didn’t like SMP even in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa l’il champs. She and her mum had the smug look on their faces, and even now!! How I wish somehow she gets eliminated.

Judges have waaayyyy too much power here. They pretty much decide who they want to move forward and who not to. I remember in a previous season, the public actually voted out a contestant but the judges used some "veto power" and kept him in the top five! Even if SMP or Nihal get voted out, I can put my money on the judges using such non-existing power to keep them on the show (especially SMP).

Tbh I wouldn't even mind if the judges' scores decided everything, but for that we need the best of the best to be judging these contestants. I would trust their judgement, not the likes of Neha and Vishal who know zilch about classical music. Imagine what would happen if people like Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, AR Rahman would be judging. I would trust their judgement 100%.

bold: have a feeling contestant not eliminated per vote counts but judges choose who to eliminate!!!!!

I think they get to save a contestant once in a season, and they already used it this season in the week of 20-21 February.
