Sitara just launched banni and after a good opening it's falling flat. Now with launch of kbc banni is at highest risk, and by revamping imlie with new faces they lose on spill over audience.
Also cricket season till mid-November, and the slot being highly competitive makes it rather risky to launch a new show or change faces of Imlie.
None of us thought it'd go beyond this year, but this was too illogical and too soon.
I have no idea why Sitara did remake of Bengali show Khukumoni Home delivery. Yes Banni is remake of that show. The interesting thing is Khukumoni was launched by replacing another show which was actually doing fairly well. Guess what happened...Khukumoni debuted with high Trp but then went down so bad and flopped and was taken off air. I don't understand why Sitara made remake of a flop show. As I said, I don't know what Sitara is trying to do. The Star Jalsha FB page is full of hate comments towards the channel because of its regressive content. Does SJ learn anything from it? Apparently no.
For those who did not watch 90s ITV, let me tell you we had lovely shows then. They were weekly and bi weekly. Many based on literature. What we are getting now is regressive content that dates back to perhaps 50s, 60s and 70s. I remember when I was in school, we use to wait eagerly for Fauji, SRK's first TV show. I remember the 90s when I was in college, we used to wait for Banegi Apni Baat, a youth show that launched R. Madhavan. Loved him so much. I left India just before soaps were introduced. I used to hear about them from my mother. I guess the initial soaps were fairly good. The first few soaps of Star Jalsha were good. But then this regressive content hijacked ITV. All logic flew out of the window. Politics has taken over the channel. I guess each board member is trying to beat the other. God only knows what is going on. ðŸ˜
