All of us are blaming the PH. What about the channel? Don't any of you find it odd that SP introduced a new show which gives the same vibes as Imlie? From what I have read around, Imlie's main competitors are BL and UD? Are these even decent competitors to take such dramatic steps? I think that the decision for season 2 has been taken by both channel and PH.

Has any channel or PH ignored the pleas of fans this way? In my personal opinion, we are not aware of many things which happened in the background. People who have been involved in the show have already left.

I know that many people are not happy with the episodes but we do end up getting some good scenes from time to time. Since they are in a rush to end the season, we shouldn't expect much in terms of logic as the channel and PH don't really care about ending the story properly. They are simply in a rush to start something new. Only fools can trust them again and invest in the new season. But I know it will happen, and after some months, the new FD will be in the same place as us and previous FD. Vicious cycle all around.

But we got Arylie and their journey. Let us be content with that😊

Also I don’t know why even after 10 years the dramas on itv is worse then all the shows I named before. Like that era was so good with some amazing dramas. And now tbh any drama I see it’s mostly 2 girls fighting for 1 men. To name a few Both Bhagya’s, Ghum, Yeh Rishta, Udariyaan, Bhagya Lakshmi, Kabhi Kabhi ittefaq, Anupama in the beginning, Naagin, Parineeti, Spy Bahu to name a few I heard from others lol and it’s just sad. Only Imlie was decent after Aryan. The best non toxic Male lead in ITV serials.But kisi ki nazar lag gayi 😭

Only got distracted by Jodha Akbar in 2020 when i binged under quarantine.

After that arylie wiped everything away. I'm locked for another decade now, or perhaps a lifetime unless SuMaan get another good project together (which is a very long shot, but one can hope)

Don't know. I think it's time to accept, and enjoy the remaining episodes. We have past episodes. We can always rewatch them.

Try to make peace with the situation. Maybe something better awaits all of us. Let's pray that Sumbul and Fahmaan get some great projects, and we can follow them. I would love to see Fahmaan play the role of a cop or just act in a thriller.

Arylie will live on in our hearts. In my mind, the show ended after confession scene, and Imlie kicked Jo, BD & BM out. All the Rathores are living happily.

Abhi sirf aadhi paki khichdi milegi it seems as there is news of probably some 10-15 episodes left. And IF articles have been accurate most of the time.

when I first saw the promo, I immediately thought imlie was ending. I even posted about it but I don't think others had the same thought as me. when I think of a channel, I think business, numbers. so any decision has multiple layers and therefore more based on reason than emotion.

here are some of my thoughts (though I can be off since I am not that familiar with the industry dynamics):

-- my guess is that PH and channel have a contract that is for x number of episodes. after that point, they re-negotiate terms and numbers. at this stage, the channel might ask itself whether it is cost-effective to keep the show going or whether to wind it down. anytime, a show is extended, you need to also re-negotiate salaries for actors as well as the technical team etc.

-- I remember vaguely of some salary and terms related drama on these lines in yeh hai mohabatein and a few other ekta serials. those were then sorted and the actors stayed on.

-- sometimes, it is the PH itself that wants a better contract and not necessarily the actors. again that can cause friction between the channel and the team. again, have a really vague memory of a drama on zee from years back where the PH and channel couldn't agree on terms and so they winded down the drama.

my guess:

-- they chose a new show with a simliar theme because they had already made some sort of pre-emptive decision on imlie. it was already in the works -- either a winding down or a complete halt

-- this may have been ratings factor (in comparison to the other shows) as well as a cost factor or issues with production house. any business decision will have multiple layers and so it can't be just ratings. there are multiple angles that we won't get to know.

-- the very fast pacing of arcs from the wedding made no sense; in other serials, wedding to falling in love can go from anywhere from 100 to 200 episodes. consumation always takes forever to happen in other dramas, sometimes even past 200 episodes. here, they covered all of that in under 50? think how ridiculous that is! so I strongly feel this has been in the works for months behind the scenes.

-- another clue is the lack of development of side characters -- in other dramas, surpita track would have taken maybe 50-100 episodes. that is how they drag these serials to 500+ episodes. the drama isn't solely focused on main characters but you develop the side characters in order to keep the juice flowing. the lack of development indicates they weren't interested in keeping the serial going for very long.

-- I feel that gul would have preferred to wind up the show altogether but due to contracts, she is obligated to do another season till the channel gives it a full axe. hence her rather abrasive attitude about how silly fans are being and how 150 families depend on the show. who pays those technicians? she does with money she gets from the channel.

-- I also feel that the channel is not particularly interested and may be revamping their schedule (which they need to do from time to time) in order to compete. so they have slotted in another season in order to get time to develop other dramas. they are probably in discussion with other PH and makers

There are a lot of factors involved. In the past two weeks, some drastic changes have happened in the Bengali Sitara channel. I did not link it to the Hindi Sitara but now it seems Sitara, on the whole, is undergoing changes.

I don't know how it works in Hindi. But in Bengali Sitara, some actors have direct contracts with the channel. They agree to do a certain number of shows. Some actors have contracts with PH. The side ckt generally are daily wage earners. I know this for sure because a friend of mine is a celebrity lawyer and has worked for the rights of the junior artists who were exploited and were not paid. In the past two weeks, decent Trp earners have been pulled off air. The two shows I know were not saas bahu types. One was a remake of IPK S1. Then there are other shows where all of a sudden, the ML are shown to be dying at least for now. I don't know what is going on. But looks like similar things are happening in Hindi channel too. It is quite possible Gul may have wanted to end Imlie but channel thought otherwise. Whatever it is, I think there is one thing that the channel and the PH did not anticipate - Sumbul quitting.

For those who don't know, Rajjo is remake of Bengali show Alta Foring. It is very similar to Imlie. But the Bong show has not been able to get even half the popularity that IK got in its time. Currently, in AF, the ML is being shown as dead as per BTS. Watch Rajjo at your own risk. 😉

So i agree to most of what you're saying, but the timeline doesn't make sense to launch any new show

Sitara just launched banni and after a good opening it's falling flat. Now with launch of kbc banni is at highest risk, and by revamping imlie with new faces they lose on spill over audience.

Also cricket season till mid-November, and the slot being highly competitive makes it rather risky to launch a new show or change faces of Imlie.

None of us thought it'd go beyond this year, but this was too illogical and too soon.
