I have given up trying to understand that other group or the character. They are as empty as didi if they think she’s super awesome. Karna kuch hai nahin bas victim banke ghoomo aur guilt trip karo sabko.

@bold - The funniest part is they do not understand that Aditya is actually being bare minimum courteous with her or downright disinterested. So his chops go over their heads....didi ke fans hain aakhir 😆

She is pretty much doing the same thing she did with Aditya in the beginning by thinking she’s doing something great by going against her parents for KC. The only difference is her dad is against him as well this time so she gets doubly excited about doing the opposite.

Unless this is some FF version of Malini you are considering, there is no scenario in which she can be the "most layered" or "most interesting" character in this story. I'm going by what was shown about her since day one. Even with the potential to possibly evolve into a less clingy/dependent woman, she would not even remotely become "most interesting".

The bare minimum Malini could have managed was garnered some basic respect as a character in how she chose to evolve post after the broken marriage/learning the truth. But that alone ain't gonna make her layered or interesting.

Like take Pallavi for example....I can respect some things about her character but she isn't going to become "layered" over that.....lol Malini is in the same realm. Layering ke liye basic substance chahiye....she is mostly a vapid airhead who can't move beyond self-absorption....imagining substance in that won't make it actually happen. And then the actress in question also doesn't have the range to pull off the "layered" Malini you are imagining.

Agree with you that they way she has been shown in the series from day one does not lend to layering. My point was on paper if you see the basic premise of a woman who was brought up in a very toxic environment, where the parter she has chosen for herself who has been with her for 7 years goes through such a traumatic incident and how she deals with her partner and her life after, there was a lot of scope there. That was why my issue was that the writers bungled up the character from day one making her clingy and a crybaby whose arc was very shallow. There was no substance like you said from day 1, which was very sad. It was almost like writers on ITV did not know how to make her character garner sympathy other than making her this way, which comes of as pseudo mahaan and irritating

I will not comment on the actress, as honestly I do not know if she was given better material would the character turned out better, and we would never know that, but yes the writers can surely be blamed for the self absorbed didi we have to deal with.

With this basic mindset, growth is unlikely na. Everyone seems to think that just cuz she acts sweet in general, she isn't a pampered/entitled princess.....but she very much is.....she is coddled by everyone and she continues to cling to that coddling only.....doesn't seem to have any capability of viewing herself beyond that. If the truth reveal couldn't jolt her out of this, nothing can. But all the truth reveal did was increase her sense of self-victimization.....no recognition of her privilege or entitlement.....

I was saying this to Fary earlier today that all Malini had to do in the aftermath of the truth reveal was definitively tell Imlie that SHE doesn't want to be with Adi cuz there is no love in that relationship and she doesn't want to be with a man who doesn't consider her his wife only😆......if she had said it definitively, her pride would have been saved then also and the sympathy she so desperately craves - woh bhi mil jaati ise😆. Instead she was wishy washy about her answers to Imlie always.....always leaving the door ajar to guilt trip kabhi Imlie and kabhi Adi.....she is totally unable to close that door cuz that's her personality.....even as she tries to put on the act of "moving on", her every action has been wishy washy enough for Imlie to suspect that she doesn't mean it when she says she's past all this.....and that is why Imlie also falls prey to the guilt trip cycle ki haaye bechaari Didi doesn't really want this relationship to end. Malini totally lacks that conviction in wanting to end the relationship....she just makes strange bechaargi waale ya grudges waale faces....but you never see that sense of quiet dignity/fierceness that should be there in a person who's gone through her situation.

Malini has only one purpose in this story.....to hang around like a spare part and guilt trip people😆.....she dresses it all up in nautanki bechaargi but the basic core is just to play that incidental part in the lives of the rest of the characters....ki bhoolna mat, main bhi hoon.....baaki she is incapable of doing anything else in life😆

As for keeping other fan group happy....LMAO if there are people STILL shipping AM after all this🤣....what to say.....ROFL so what are they shipping? These scraps of dosti that Adi tosses Malini's way? 😆.....ismein se logon ko feelz mil rahe hain? ROFL ok then😆

Word! So well explained AY. Even in today's episode - I actually liked her scene till she threw in the bhabi bit...immediately Adi Imlie Nishant face changed. I wonder if the actress and her fans see this and understands her role (guilt trip) consciously or sub consciously or they are all delusional. For example - if she/fans saw this writeup would it be news and a revelation for her or does she know it and is just doing what you said drive a point multiple times till people start repeating the stuff without even thinking through it.
