Adi's greys are actually more interesting than the typical "dark/brooding" heroes ke greys....mainly cuz his brand of recklessness is more unpredictable to watch than the usual stuff so called "dark" heroes do in stories. Adi doesn't do any of the typical manhandling and threatening and he's still way more dangerous in terms of failaaoing raita😆.....the things he thinks and doesn't think through before doing are enough to create 10 times the drama and keep you on the edge of your seat as a viewer😆.

That is the common definition of grey here basically toh adi grey kaise dikhe ga.. nobody and I repeat nobody in this show is flawfree and is totally a Saint they all have their grey areas yet that doesn't make any of them the obvious villains either.. it makes them normal human beings mere tumhare humare jaise.. but I guess that is too boring 😴

We both have discussed this before @AY how adi is far more dangerous than any other guys caz of his unpredictability isko khud ko nahi pata yeh kya karega kisi aur ko kya pata. He sure gets in trouble caz of that but it comes as part of his core personality he cannot completely erase that either even if he tries real hard his impulse ends up taking over when he is pushed way too much to the edge

Almost similar to things he said when Imlie went missing, like totally irrelevant relevant, but it still was like a light bulb for Aditya to take action. smiley36

Adi- Editor convo 2 based on your setup of him advising Adi to help save his marriage to Malini & Adi applying it to his marriage with Imlie.

Editor: First you need to check the legality of your marriage ( Marriage to Imlie)

Adi: Hmm...( Thinking marriage to Malini)

Editor: You need to dissolve the marriage (with Imlie)

Adi: Hmm....( thinking marriage with Malini)

Editor: Did you understand my point?

Adi: Yes....I need to dissolve my marriage to Malini to save my marriage with Imlie

Editor bangs his head on desk

It is so very tricky to navigate what they are currently navigating....to be able to show this deep emotional intimacy between Adi-Imlie transitioning to more physical affection, while also maintaining that nod to their background differences....the city-village ka thought process gap, the mentor/student gap....ek bade/chhote wala aspect that comes in with the age difference between them even as they find equality in their soch and mental/emotional wavelengths....the fact that he can be both a guardian watching over her and a partner walking each step with her simultaneously....all these role reversals they go through to step up for each other....it's amazing to behold.

I actually sometimes wonder if the story will even feel this interesting if we lose the city-village contrast wala angle to it....if Imlie puri sheheri ban gayi, will it feel as interesting?😆....I don't want her to lose her Imlie-ness even as I understand she has to evolve as she studies more and moves towards her career goals.

And overall yeah....that old school vibe in their rishta is making them all the more endearing and interesting to me😆.....

+100 on the bold....Very beautifully said. This is exactly why it makes it such a beautiful watch. The way they are equal but they are not and though there is this age difference, in some aspects Imlie becomes the mentor and he lets her. He always listens to her and either accepts or give her another take. Sometimes he takes over that role and she listens to him. He looks to her for appreciation, she to him. The way they transition from one role to other based on the circumstance, it really amazing how they have brought that out. She never crosses that line of respect and she never becomes badatameez with him, how much ever he aggrieves her nor does she raises her voice to him and he in turn gives her that respect for her maturity and inner strength that she deserves irrespective of her age. The way they hand the mantle to each other based on the circumstances, like when he takes the lead in some cases like with the examiner or Bunty bhaiyya and she takes the lead in some cases like with NN or those cricketers and they do not interfere. Its almost like a beautiful dance, the way they have learned to navigate around each other's emotions.

It totally gives the old school vibe that is so rare to see now and hence its so endearing.

I think Aditya is just a normal 20th century male who knows what he wants and how to get it. He is brought up in the world where mehnat is everything to achieve your goals and sometimes you have to go against the norm to achieve them. His major problem is that when he wants something, he wants it and he can go to any length to achieve it. He does not stop to think about the consequences and sometimes in his zidd and impulsiveness he ends up creating a much bigger problem. His this attitude has always given him results in professional life so he really has not stop to think that it might be a detriment or is bad in his personal life as emotions are completely different ball game. Also, as Fary said, its his core personality and that when he is pushed he will blow up and in which form no body knows. This is scariest thing about Aditya and one might think it is grey but he is just a normal man with some shortcomings.

I mean kehne ko yeh ek rishta hai but usmein hi kitne aur sub layers hain and un sabko ek saath baLance karna kisi ko dusre pe haavi na Hone dena kisi ki ahmiyat dusre ke muqaable kam na Hone dena..never going overboard with one that dusra aspect of the same thing looks questionable is no small task to begin with but to do it simultaneously sabko saath main leke chalna and itne ache se is a next level win.. and the team deserves 👏 for that.. the more we praise them for it the lesser

About imlie losing her imliness and becoming shehri that is something I actually fear about.. caz then Imlie imlie nahi raheingi...that is usually when things get beyond repair and that is why It is a touchy topic for me.. I never want her to lose her essence her core.. she can study become an officer be successful but plz never leave apni neev never leave your pehchaan behind never become something she is not just caz now she is educated and is labeled under shehri.. the show will lose its charm its core if and when they resolve it I feel and then will join the bandwagon of how every other rural based show starting in a rural setting but looking ending up looking like a sad shadow of itself once the base moves to city/ other locations.. it is never quite the same. It will become another meh stock show in between others

And you just said it SO beautifully here too in bold❤️....ek rishte mein itne saare shades dekhne ko mil rahe hain....so many roles they are both playing for each other as they navigate their way through this relationship.....and even as she gives him the regard as the older one she looks up to, koi ek is rishte pe haavi nahin hota compared to the other.....they both make mistakes, they both falter....but they continue to keep finding their way to each other, being there for each other. They are a beautiful depiction of a partnership as husband-wife but in many ways, they don't even need labels for the beauty of their relationship to come across. The marriage binds them together but their relationship is so much more than that.

Re: Imlie ka shehripan....haha yeah we've discussed this before.....abhi I guess usmein time hai so let's see how they manage it long term....but Babusahib se pehle toh hum log apni paagal Jhalli ke liye bade possessive hain😆....humein woh aisi hi pyari si pasand hai. Not that change isn't inevitable in some ways but I feel whatever shifts they bring to her character, uska basic core intact rakhein - the way she talks, the maasoomiyat waali honesty in her samajh, the simplicity of her basic nature....yeh sab is the heart of the story in many ways that anchors it.

Aise hi nahin is show mein har character Imlie ke liye tadapta rehta😆

Your whole paragraph above the bold made me laugh. He was really trying to be brave and I think he would have forced her to come with him by using all petras if not for his promise. I think that kind of binded him to give up as he said in the previous jungle scene that the promise is the only thing stopping him. But I think we are going to see @bold Aditya soon especially if Imlie comes back at T's and his promise becomes irrelevant. Aditya impulsiveness and zidd is always going to come in play unless he himself does not bind himself in promises that he cannot break. 😆

@Him sleeping in the hut, that was a surprise because I thought he was going to leave immediately after the lunch......So he did extend one more day **shaking my head at him** and he was wondering why his family is upset with him. 😆

@bold2: Looking at their relationship, Aditya never loved her would make more sense, rather than him falling out of love. Aditya is really a person who is more a inner kind of beauty guy who will admire mental and emotional strength in a woman more that her outer beauty. So him being in love with Malini, who is so fragile really does not make sense. He is known Imlie for a such short time but he knows almost every admirable quality about her so its almost seemed like he did not take the effort with Malini or simply was not interested. There was a discussion in the middle that may be because Anu kept instigating him , it became more of an ego thing that he can make her happy. Plus Malini never questioned him about his work and her being beautiful were just added bonus for him to keep moving on in that relationship. I do believe that he cares for Malini as he is known her for such a long time but it was never love. The flavor of love never changes so if he was in love with Malini we would have seen the same junoon, emotions, possessiveness (cue bridge scene), jealousy in him at least once in this past months that we are seeing for Imlie and all those are sadly missing in his relationship with Malini. Let see what the writers show us.

@bold1: Yes, that's the hilarious part to me....he was TRYING to be "strong" and considerate and show that he is willing to step back if Imlie asks him to😆....but I was laughing cuz I knew he isn't capable of it😆.....toh mujhe sab phenku lag raha tha him saying all this🤣.....I kept thinking, "Chal, jhoota" in my head during all this big big words in the scene😆.

Impulsiveness is the only constant with this guy😆.....Impulsiveness mein promise kar diya....impulsiveness mein bol diya it's ok if you won't come to meet me in the city.....and phir aise hi impulsiveness mein bhaaga bhaaga bhi jaayega Imlie ke peechhe.

@bold2: Is there ANY promise that can EFFECTIVELY bind his impulsiveness? I doubt it😆.....he always breaks free....belagaam ghoda as I say😆.....bas Imlie time to time ispe lagaam lagaati hai but it doesn't last for long😆.

All the leg pulling I do of Adi aside.....this is a guy who's only now understood after 30 or 30+ years of his life what he REALLY wants....and it's understandable if he struggles with letting go of it when it's now in front of him. Impulse control is easier when you never realize what you were missing....it's harder when you get a taste of that nectar of life in a sense and then someone asks you to go back to the life of an ascetic😆.

About the lack of a hug.....lol I don't think the issue is about whether the goodbye scene needed a hug or not....I know most people around here only want the hug for "chemistry" reasons😆.....but that wasn't the reason for me....when the discussion about the hug was happening before the epi aired, no one quite knew how the goodbye scene would play out....my thought was that if a hug had to happen, it would happen in a moment of impulse, otherwise it won't.

The goodbye scene ultimately ended up happening seperately from the conversation in the jungle where Adi was at his most emotional/impulsive. If the goodbye had happened in that moment and Adi hadn't tried to insert a love confession between it😆, then a hug would have been the way to express all that he can't bring himself to say yet. But the makers chose a different path in showing him almost saying out the words instead and Imlie stopping him there.

Which is why the actual goodbye scene ended up being all about pulling back....Adi's struggle with pulling back from Imlie after having gotten carried away the last time he was pouring out his emotions in front of her. So a hug wouldn't fit in this scenario at all and it became all about Adi trying to show he will always be there for her in any way she allows him to be.....giving her motivation and hope if she won't allow him to give her anything else right now. By the time, the scene happened, I wasn't expecting any hug at all😆.....and I know everyone else found the goodbye scene very emotional but I was still feeling amused by Adi in this for some reason😆.....his attempts to be like "Ok theek hai mat milna"......he's so full of it😆. Ghanta "it's ok".....lol....as if we don't know him enough by now to know kab badi badi baatein karta hai that we know he won't be able to have impulse control over one bit😆.....his attempt at showing "large hearted maturity" in that scene was what was making me laugh.....Imlie ne maanga toh he's trying to leave....telling her he will give her space if that's what she wants😆.....but nahin hona isse. The guy who got SO carried away that he was about to TELL her he loves her before even consciously realizing it himself😆.....THAT guy is going to be like, "ok mat milna"....hahaha yeah right😆.

The Adi who grapples between zidd and emotional blackmail to get what he wants.....lol that's the more familiar Adi now than the one who tries to show he can be "large hearted".....lol Oh for sure😆it was next level funny with him trying to be Ok cool then if it is what it is then i will try when in reality he was feeling more like the adi inside the bus complaining and ghussa main narazgi dikhaying ke Mujhe roka kyon nahi mujhe Roti kyon nahi di mujhe kehne kyon nahi dia😆 Yup totally this guy will act "mature" and Back off.. hhaha bilkul aise hi jaise He came to "end" sab kuch and karke gaya waise hi he will pull back.. watch him run sar ke bal once he finds out imlie is in delhi.. to get her in his close proximity. The i love you didn't just was about to come then it came in his spana too hahahhaha and he complained ke phir nahi kehne dia and usse pehle in the goodbye scene too when he is doing the self talk about i wish hum tumhara saath de paate he goes i wish hum tumhare pass... and then the conductor interrups matlab even while holding himself back he is in flow admitting ke tumhare paas hi rehna hai inside when outsidehe is trying to give her badi badi smiles and life advice😆🤣 oh this Joker🤗

So in that sense, I was still more touched by the bus scene....because that's where I saw a glimpse of that zidd karne wala Adi....jo Imlie se shikaayat karta hai😆.....jise pata hai ki he's not going to be ok away from her....and he has this mix of rueful emotions about it. same to same..

The goodbye scene showed the Adi who wants to be a mentor/motivator to Imlie if she won't let him be anything else.....while the bus imagination scene showed the Adi who within minutes of leaving her was back to his, "Mujhe kyun nahin roka" line😆.....lol this is the guy who thinks he can live up to "it's ok if you don't want to meet me"? Sure Sure😆 Ziddi bacha hi hai in that big pahaad body of his😆imlie manages to sooth that kiddo inside him behla leti hai isse and yeh sirf usse hi behlata hai warna toh iske shikwe and shikayateina nd pouting hi khatam nahi hoti😆 .

Both the scenes were lovely....the goodbye scene was more heartbreaking over how much Adi was trying to hold himself back to give her some support in other ways if she won't allow it the way he otherwise wants to.....and the bus scene - I think I just loved it for the Imlie smiling at him so serenely as he kept trying to get answers from her😆same I really liked imlie smiling through his complaints and then my msot fav bit has to him shaking his head and saying sapne main bhi nahi kehne diaa awww

Re Imlie: that’s going to be a sight from now on 😆 if she can so easily fling naukrani at him toh imagine aur kitna she can make him dance. And it is all just a matter of fact. Not based on some unheard of concocted out of air situation that Malini uses to guilt him.

Re clinginess and denial: Man, the tamasha that is going to follow. I cannot even begin to fathom. For some reason, I feel she’s going to go greyer (if there’s a word like that) a little bit too. Aakhir hai to AC ki beti

@bold: He deserves to go through every bit of squirming from hearing Imlie remind him of his grand lowe declarations for Malini😆.....I'm gonna be ready with a big bucket of popcorn for that. Go Imlie😆....Naukraani tag also isn't going to chhodo his jaan so easily once she's back in the house and he again has to hear Mrs. C types calling her this.....he was asking Imlie not to punish him for these mistakes....lol beta, Imlie nahin Kismat ka prasad mil raha hai tumhein yeh sab.....😆

Re: Malini's greys....yes, I do feel we will see her do some weird things in insecurity in the coming phase as she starts to notice Adi-Imlie ki closeness more obviously too rather than retreating to her usual denial.

LOL@ we can't expect maturity from Adi in anything other than cases where he has to motivate Imlie......true that😆

@bold - how in the world did he even think she was going to forget whatever nonsense he spewed at her for so long. Yes, he looked breathtakingly heartbroken hearing her say it but, how? And the funniest bit was him saying that she should claim him because she was first. Responsibility naam ki koi cheez bhi hoti hai lekin iss bande ki dictionary main nahin 😆 I love the character with all its flaws and he has come a long way but these things are hilarious to watch from an audience’s perspective.

AC toh ab naukrani ke saath saath affair jaap bhi shuru karegi. She has already started but that intensity will only increase. Sowing seeds of doubt in Rupali maybe along with her own daughter anyway. Aditya has in no way heard the last of it. And good for Imlie. He needs to digest this prasad 😆
