The phone call was right after alter ego reminded him he had forgotten to call. During the phone call he had tears in his eyes but even though he knew Malini was low, he did not do the moon jaap? He didn’t do anything other than informing her? So what was he thinking or was that expression still that shock based on previous alter ego conversation.

In the Pooja, he took one step after the other to support Imlie and like Imliya, I also want to know “ yeh BBS kya soch rahe hain” GM just had this blank expression on his face...

It was deliberate from a storytelling POV, yes😆. They want to keep it vague until they are ready to address Adi's frame of mind again....maybe in the next epi or maybe when he's leaving for Delhi.

By now, we should start to get used to this pattern.....they kept so much of his emotions vague for a long time before bursting out yesterday with the alter ego connecting all the dots that were apparent to us all along but Adi was shown to be blank faced/minded about😆.

I feel Adi called Malini as a reflex in guilt after the alter-ego scene shook him up a bit....call toh kar liya, but he couldn't bring himself to do the usual level of coddling to manaao her....maybe because he is now getting a conscious inkling that saying all that now would be a lie to her and that would be a bigger lie than just lying to her about where he went. That is what I saw in the torment in his eyes....the realization that he cannot give assurances to Malini that he doesn't feel himself right now.....that even after all this, the need to grant Imlie's one wish of "ek din aur" was greater than anything.....even his own rishta with Malini....when he said, "kuch bhi" to Imlie yesterday, I guess he really meant it😆. While he hasn't fully accepted what his alter ego told him yet, it definitely shook his foundation up enough to not make him feel comfortable doing his usual pampering with Malini. That is a notable switch. He had the eyes of a haunted/tormented man when he was talking to Malini there.....very good acting from GM.

The other side of this was the pooja next day with Imlie.....Adi had his usual blank mask on for the most part but there was nothing ambiguous about the way he stepped forward with his own marzi to do the rituals with Imlie and to give her his name. Ofcourse, he will make the excuse later that he was just doing his part to return all the ehsaans she's done on him😆.....that this doesn't mean anything more than that....he hasn't really accepted her as his wife.....lol and Imlie won't even question him more than that cuz she has contented herself with just the extra day and she isn't expecting anything else from him.

Even though Adi kept his face mostly blank in the pooja, there was a sense of stoic purpose in him....like someone mentioned in one of the earlier pages, he hardly even hesitated before holding out his hand for Imlie to put hers in his....his instinct did take over in some ways....while he may not have been fully comfortable also probably still thinking over the complications in his mind, but he still wasn't willing to back down either and stepped up to support her throughout the pooja up to the point of giving her his name too. A man who once made horrible faces throughout every ritual with her😆, refused to even let his feet touch hers in a thaal was now himself stepping up to take her hand in his and do every ritual with full respect and deep solemnity.😆

@bold: that is another amazing parallel... another parallel I feel that will happen is, Adi will not grovel... the next parallel would be to show how Adi reacts to both of his roote hue biwis..... when Imlie left home, he dropped everything and ran behind her and when he finds out Malini left home, he would either give some token explanation and requests her to come back but won’t literally beg or be upset like he had been when Imlie left,.. and if Imlie doesn’t come back with him to Tripathi House, then even when Malini sitting at her maika upset with him, he would be sulking over Imlie at his house😆

Oh man, that would be too much fun to watch😆.....waise bhi I totally want to see MORE of tadapta Adi😈😆.....bahut entertaining hai isko chhatpataata dekhna after all the mess he's made on so many levels😆.

But I'm going to keep my expectations low as usual and brace myself for any possible FLIP😆. The story does seem to be indicating a shift so your theory is quite likely.....the contrast can definitely be built on the fact that Adi's whole world stopped when his first wife Imlie left the house while with second wife Malini, he will be upset she left but not to the extent he was over Imlie. I would love it if they move beyond the groveling and show a different Adi who struggles with realizing that all the big mushy declarations he's made to Malini all this time weren't really true and he's been lying to himself as his alter-ego told him.

Yes, she probably doesn't realize it consciously and like I said, maanegi bhi nahin consciously😆....till the end she was giving wohi usual excuses ki oh I can't stay here cuz mujhe darr lag raha hai I'm losing Adi so I need to go spend time away😕😆......truth is that her mom nailed it - that Malini is upset cuz she feels Adi isn't missing her or valuing her enough and isko chahiye ki Adi waapis aakar iske liye grand gestures karke isko valued feel karvaaye😆.

Adi I think is slowly realizing that grand gestures and mushy declarations aren't proof of love in a relationship....that is why he wasn't able to give her that on the phone either. Malini is yet to realize this.....let's see if she ever realizes it.

It would be lovely if we ever got a scene of Adi-Malini reflecting over their relationship together in a conversation maturely....it would give both of them some clarity....but I won't hold my breath on that for now.....they are both too scared to talk to each other directly about the fact that it was all a mirage in many ways.

But who knows what day the truth of that poem is being saved for....lol yeah this would be a good time to use it since Adi is in that confused headspace of what his heart wants....toh agar usko pata chal gaya that the poem he thought showed how much his Malini understands him was actually written by Imlie, it would be another big point to jolt him into reflecting about who his heart actually wants.

@ orange and that was what his alter ego told him too.. that it now you won't accept it it will be a bigger dhoka that if now you keep going on with this you will be cheating malini ...I guess it goes with your point that it somehow stayed with him so he couldn't do a causal talk with her too and just wanted to hang up asap caz he was so shaken and it was making it difficult the facts stated by his alter ego he couldn't really brush then aside sure he called that too I think is a mix if imlie also telling him earlier ke kisi ko inform nahi kia and this AE but he just couldn't go onto his usual way.. even with niddhi he was cut too I need ti talk to malini salaam dua bhi nahi as such he was just doing a duty of informing them about about whereabouts more then calling them out of love Any of them .. and yes thanks to his wish to grant all her wishes so hard that despite all that interaction with alter ego and then malini crying over phone he just couldn't deny inlie ki wish it is just like his AE said he wants wants extend his stay for a zimmedari he claim sab zimmedari chod di hai.. he seems to again not have control over his own desire of being with imlie that any chance he is getting to prolong his stay despite all other reasons to go away he wants to hold onto it.. she said it and he heard it caz a part of him never wants to leave and finding the goodbye very difficult

@ purple.. same.. he may not have much on his face and have kept it blank yet there was a silent resolve and strong support in his demeneor ek sukoon feeling where his mind and heart seemed aligned koi doubts nahi dikh rahe tbah isme the way he stepped up to the occasion and then proceeded to stand with her.
