Right way to do it is for Aditya to start acknowledging that there are basic differences between them in everything from ideological viewpoints to perceptions. Will the makers do it though I do not know.

Imlie will realize she loves him first. Will go through the gamut of feelings that will come with having to accept that he might never be hers in a meaningful way. For Aditya, her presence is his need right now. She’s his support system. He will not entertain anything beyond that because Malini is still a fixture. But like how he could not help himself from needing Imlie to going to PD, he will not be able to help himself but realize he is in love with Imlie. And when that happens, Imlie might step back because Malini didi. It will then be Aditya’s turn to experience unrequited love.

Also, I do not think there will be an alone Imlie anymore. Aditya will walk together with her. Just not as someone who knows he is in love with her yet.

@bold: Yes, that would indeed be the right way to do it for Adi to start noticing the obvious differences between himself and Malini....all the things that he generally has blinders on about may start peeking through now that his heart has helplessly opened up to Imlie.....a lot of his determined hyping of Malini also had to do with his need to dismiss Imlie....but in the face of what all he's currently doing in PD to get Imlie back, even if he doesn't accept or understand why he's doing all this, the door has been cracked open for Imlie to enter his heart....and with that, all the things he glosses over for Malini will not be so easy to gloss over anymore I feel.

Yeah they will still do phases of groveling and guilt-tripping I suppose but as you said, all the things she's overplaying her hand on may start getting to Adi too.

Imlie stepping back may be part of the push that will bring Adi to the realization that he loves her.....so I think she may keep trying to patch up him and Malini....lol but in the course of that, Adi will likely realize that it is Imlie his soul connects to, not Malini.

At the bare minimum, as you said in the last line....Adi needs to walk with Imlie....he can't let her be alone anymore. It may not be in any official capacity but he needs to support her more now.

Makes sense, na? I know we all love Adilie, but it's also very important to include the entire cast for milestones. It's everyone's hardwork at the end of the day. :)

They have shown this cycle with Malini a 100 times before....she has been whining about Adi "distancing" himself from her pretty much from the first epi only😆.....it always culminates in some overcompensation from Adi where he either grovels in front of her or gives her mushy romance and they both go back to pretending how "perfect" their relationship is😆.

I concede your point here, Malini has always been insecure about her relationship with Adi but the frequency of her complaints has skyrocketed recently.😆 Pehle toh she didn't complain in every scene like she does now.

Sure, I would love to believe this time is different....that this time just may result in a shift in Adi, a change in Adi that isn't the usual status quo of him continuing with the delusion that Malini is his all....but I'm just bracing myself for the default mode either way😆.

See, I think Adi has never defied Malini in spite of her attempt at guilt-tripping him with her 'zaroorat' line. Pehle ka Adi who thought Malini is his all would have started grovelling then and there IMO. But instead of grovelling, he added salt to her wounds by claiming that she was overreacting. Toh I think that a shift has already happened in Adi...and Malini knows this, which is exacerbating her insecurities. But given the sheer amount of Adi coddling Malini we have seen so far, I understand your doubts.😆

That said, you are right that they can still manage to show a hug in a manner that Adi-Imlie both try to compartmentalize it maybe....still, if some notable emotional shift happens in Adi in this time spent in PD with Imlie, the makers really do need to think before they show him going back to his usual romancing with Malini in Delhi. They have so far been able to keep the balance going cuz they always show Adi convinced that he is only Malini's....for if what all he is doing in PD right now culminates in a hug or a big emotional shift with Imlie, then he can't go back to comfortably behaving like Malini is his one true love. I'm not saying they can't hug etc. cuz he does care about her but all the other stuff he's been doing with grand love declarations and PDA.....if he still keeps doing all that, it will deffo demean his character.

Agreed with all of that. The makers need to be careful with this.

Reason I'm bringing all this up is that it's happened everytime....no matter how much they show Malini doing her usual pity party ki oh it's ok if he wants to go away from me, she will be first in line to jump on him when he comes back😆.....and Adi will switch into his guilt mode by default as he usually does and start pampering her to make up for his own guilt. If a fully changed Adi comes back, it will be hard to sustain his marriage with Malini....but I don't see any signs of her leaving yet....and the amount of pacifying/attention she constantly demands....will Adi give in by default as usual to all that or will some hesitation creep in? 😆

I think this all depends on what happens with the Adi-Imlie equation in PD. We both agree that if it shifts meaningfully, some hesitation should creep into Adi.

Also worth noting that uptil the moment he bumped into Imlie in PD again, Adi's last thought was "Malini ka gussa/naraazgi jaayaz hai"😆......He always finds a way to circle back to how Malini is right and deserves his full consideration......so I still see full signs of this aadmi trying to go back to his usual mode with Malini when he gets back. Unless something big happens to change everything in the remaining time in PD.

Because he is so unpredictable, he will do something complete opposite to what he was thinking a minute ago.🤣 Like you said earlier in one of your threads, he was thinking this about Malini one sec and next second he was giving puppy dog eyes to Imlie and aaram se enjoying attention in his sasuraal.😆 I think he just thinks/says stuff aiveyin half the time because he thinks that's what he SHOULD be thinking, but he always takes his decisions from the heart. Like his decision to come to PD. If he REALLY thought Malini deserved his full consideration, he wouldn't have left her to come here even after she tried to stop him.

LOL that's a good point😆.....his actions do ultimately come from the heart even though he tries his best to keep his mind on what he thinks he SHOULD be thinking.....lol it's another level of righteous compulsion wala complex in him I guess.

@bold - oh lord! She will totally drive Aditya mad doing that. But it will make for some good TV. There is absolutely no turning back for this man who is in PD. Imlie has not been as on the brink Aditya has been so I am guessing we will see some of that after the saanp incident. She held herself together during the pitaai somehow but we are yet to see her extremes for Aditya.

These two are just going to be playing with fire for a long time burning down relationships in the midst of it.
