that makes so much more sense. I have not watch a Indian soap in so long normally watch American crime shows. But I have to admit the care free spirit of imlie and her journey made me want to watch with added factor that my mum kept taking on about how great she was.
To the piont were she was even getting annoyed of asking when she will get to see her go to school and make something of herself. It’s funny to see people of all ages connecting with her. That’s what makes it so unique.
Finally I would say it’s a drama and with it sensitive topics are being explored one things she told me was that I will never like everything I see. So yes I will not say that Aditya was right and wrong for anu was just trying to show her daughter to watch out as she has been scared by her own husband.
She doesn’t want history to repeat and dev today has proven to be spineless once more for he chose to stay quite then own up to his responsibility. It easy to claim your mistake in hiding but facing the fact is hard. As bitter me may find anu somewhere she has a right to be bitter and protective of her child’s future all mothers would do what she did.
It’s just good that Aditya saw what she was upto and poor Maline had to take the brunt of it. Sorry to say but she is not so naive to his feelings of status and respect he has always said that he holds integrity dear and made that clear in episode one. They have been in a relationship for so long yet I find they have never really talked. That’s marriage for we get to see shades of people we knew they never had. How we learn to walk with these or fix these is called being in a relationship. It’s about building going what they have with the good and the bad.
Imlie is yet to learn this but I see she will learn about these as she watches these two. We have seen a shade of her experience with these feelings etc.
Thank you for clarifying 😊🙂
Ya, I had moved away from ITV and is a more c/k/j/american drama person but Imlie just caught my eye during the holidays and then binge-watched it to a point where I love all the characters.
The beauty of this show, is that no character is totally good or bad (except for the Tripathis, ofcourse😆) but they are grey. They have their own good points and their shortcomings. They might make choices that we might not agree to but looking at it from their perspective, it might just be right. Anu was not a bitter person but she become so because of her husband's behavior. Dev chose to be with his wife and daughter which on the surface was right but in the long run, was it the right decision if his heart was not there? Now, both their choices have had an impact on Malini, who has grown in a toxic environment where she is learned to ignore things even though they are staring at her face but that just might be her coping strategy. Aditya is also at fault here because he has never tried to look beyond her dimple smile or made the effort to share his innermost thoughts or feelings or heard them in return. Imlie is also learning and I think it was you who said that, she need to learn that values can be adjusted/modified based on circumstance without compromising the essence of it.
There are many such layers and this is very rare to see in an ITV especially a love story which is not built on clichés but is a slow burn built on shared experiences.
