Angelina Jolie is divorcing Brad Pitt. She filed for divorce on Monday, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Jolie and Pitt wed in August 2014, but have been together since around 2004-2005. They just celebrated their second wedding anniversary last month. But according to Jolie's legal documents, they separated on September 15, just a few days ago.

In the papers, Jolie requests sole physical custody of their six children. She indicates that Pitt should share joint legal custody, but only receive visitation rights. According to TMZ, Jolie has taken issue with Pitt's parenting methods, as well as his alleged use of weed and alcohol, and that led to the split.

Reps for the stars have not yet commented, but an attorney for Jolie says, "This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time." Gossip Cop can still assure that recent tabloid cover stories from the likes of In Touch, about cheating and the like, were not accurate, but merely the same regurgitated guesses such magazines have been printing since the couple wed. In fact, breakup tales have wrongly circulated in the tabloids for the last 10 years.

Jolie and Pitt last attended an event together nearly a year ago. Their romance was first sparked on the set of 2005's Mr. And Mrs. Smith, at which time Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. They later divorced, and Pitt embarked on a full-on relationship with Jolie.

Over the course of their relationshhip, Pitt adopted Jolie's children " Maddox, Zahara and Pax " and she gave them the combined surname, Jolie-Pitt. In 2006, they welcomed their first biological daughter, Shiloh. Jolie then gave birth to twins in 2008, son Knox and daughter Vivienne.

In 2012, Jolie and Pitt confirmed they were engaged. The following year, he stood by her as she underwent a preventative mastectomy amid health concerns. They then managed to pull off a secret wedding at their French estate. But they were legally wed in California, which is where Jolie has filed for divorce. This will now be the actress' third divorce. She was previously married to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
