I think it just shows the bonding brothers have. They treat each other equal and at par. In age, Sameer is elder but that does not stops Rishi from questioning or must say answering him.

That' not the issue... in north india devar is the younger bro of the groom & the elder bro is called jeth... but here rishi called sam as indu's dewar which mean rishi is the elder bro... But CVs show that sam is rishi's elder bro which means he should have called it jeth not devar...

Misty, that's what I tried to explain. Their bonding is not on age. They consider them equals. Tabhi toh ek ki gf dusre ke paas chali gayi 😆.

@Nels: I understand what you are trying to say... but the topic maker has pointed out the choice of words of the dialogue writer... I mean they are confusing jeth with devar...😊

Agreed. I was also very surprised to hear Rishi say devar and not jeth. It makes it a little confusing trying to figure out who is eldest. Sameer calls him little brother yet Rishi says Sameer will be Indira's devar. I wish they would keep track of it. Maybe in some devar is just a word used for brother in law and they do not have a different title for elder or younger BIL's like some of us are used too.

Either that or the 2 of them are fraternal twins (yet one still has to be elder so that takes that thought out of the equation 😆).

sameer will be jeth of indira ...not dewar ..but they are twins ,then he will dewar of her ...in show sameer is elder bro of rishi ..

Yes, that's what I thought too however in yesterday's episode Rishi called Sameer Indira's dewar so that is what was confusing. Shouldn't he have said Jeth and no dewar????

These days daily soap writers care little about these things... & prominently use word devar for BIL... but in typical punjabi household people use praji & parjaai ji for jeth & jethani but devar is constant across hindi belt of north india... I don't know what's the logic of using devar for elder BIL... It puts wrong perceptions in terms of the usage of words...
