Oh I do know she has her good points. I also know she is a valuable member of the trio. But unlike Ron, Harry, Ginny, Fred and George ... I don't like her flaws, that's why I dislike her. Why don't you tell everyone here who was focusing on whatever stuff they said about Ginny to focus on her positive points because she has many herself. I don't get this singling me out stuff. The people we like, we like their flaws. The people we don't like .. we don't like it and when justifying your reasons for it with canon, unfortunately, the flaws are what comes to light. I see nothing wrong with it. There are things I do appreciate about her but on the whole I dislike her for those things and her actions and general personality. I do find her condecsending and patronising because of her intelligence. And very uninteresting. But hey, that's my reading from it and equally correct.
I thought she went around SPEW the wrong way and actually it irritated me .. forcing stuff on people is just plain wrong. So while her intentions were good, it didn't really help in endearing her to me.
Anyways, I do believe JKR has said that the scar will never go away and Marietta will have a reminder of it for the rest of her life. I didn't say she is Hermione, but there are alot of similarities and I am not sure if I am supposed to find them vile and repulsive in Umbridge, why I am not allowed to find Hermione's similar actions the same. It's harsh and very much not needed. Scarring a teenager no matter what I am against. Or like F&G are wrong for blackmailing someone but she's right. Nope. I just don't get that whole discerpency.
Anyways, I don't have much time but the part about Hermione treating Ron like crap would be when she was ignoring Ron and telling Harry how could he looks and shooting repulsive looks at him. She tried to hide her feelings and that is how Ron was insecure over her. That's why when a girl was throwing herself at him, he went for it.
I do agree that Ginny went overboard when she was was talking to Ron. He's saying stuff to her for kissing a guy and getting experience , so she uses the natural reaction of saying stuff to him for haven't gotten any experience. It was a very realistic and fun part for the book. I'm just saying that I didn't side with any of them .. I didn't hate Ginny for what she said to Ron because IMO, Ron did deserve a hex or too. And a good slap or too. But then Ginny was overboard too ... so that's why I, a major Ron fan, don't hate her for it. Neither do I, a massive Ginny fan, hate him for it. They were both at fault IMO. They were both overboard or whatever and I guess I am just tried of people completely ignoring that Ron was being a big jerk too and just blaming Ginny. She had a reason to lash out ... she may have gone too far yes, but Ron was the first one who stepped so far over the point.
But anyways, it doesn't matter. I don't get uptight for people saying they dislike the popular girl Ginny and there's alot but I get completely overwhelmed when I say I don't like the bookworm Hermione. I get it's unpopular opinion, thought there are quite a few who dislike her as well, but I think I gave my reasons why and with proof and not made up stuff. So just carry on people.
Although I'm a Hermione fan and dislike Ginny, I must admit some of what you've said I find true and it's from a different aspect so it made a very interesting read. So thanks for that and it's very well written even though I don't fully agree to it, but as you said earlier it's open to be looked at different by everyone and that's the beauty of it. But it did make me view Ginny in a different light which I quite like.
