Sorry stump, i know i have been very rude to u, but wat can i do, i am a big Hermy fan, and if anyone says anything about her, which isn't true, i ge hyper. Sorry if i have hurted ur feelings with my comment. But when i repled i was in a rage, sorry bout that.😳 But i will keep with y belief that Hermy was a life saver and 100% right in almost everthing. 😊 People differs, views differs, so lets not argue about this anymore, as our thoughts will differ o matter what.😛 Hope u understand me😊

Anyway, Umbridge and Hermione are so different from each if you ask me. And why are you only looking at the negative characteristics of Hermione...namely jealousy,insecurity(which almost everyone have by the way), vindictive to cruel people(she never lets a bad-doer get away easily-this can looked upon in a positive OR negative light) and she is a bit uptight about rules....but face it...she gets better as the years go by...
She is positive is SO MANY ways...she is the ONLY person who supported without ever even leaving once inspite of her LOVER (Ron) leaving him,it is only due to her intelligence and spell-knowledge that the trio have gotten through many rough spots and not to mention all the tiny little practical details (ex. packing for finding horcruxes in DH) she takes care of that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Also, we get to know how sympathetic she is as a person when she starts SPEW(I loved her for that coz I love house-elves😳)....well I can go on and on about her importance in HP LOL....
I am in no way trying to change your opinion of Hermione if you dont like her but just wanted you to see that she has many good points in her personality too😃

Wow, she?s just so vindictive. She leads Umridge to the centaurs so they can deal with her. Yes, they were in a pickle and she was smart enough to try to figure something out .. but really ? You are right, she has helped Neville. But when he was in her way, she also hexed him. I hate that idea .. this whole the ends justify the means and there are things that can be done for the greater good.

That was in P'S and wasn't it the three of them who wanted to escape him. She helped him after too in PoA and is generally mentioned to help him occassionally also Harry and Ron so it's not as though she has pride and is conceited owing to her intelligence.

Yes, in DH, Hermione was borderline Sueish and did save others but I really disagree that most of the characters have survived at one point due to her. Can you point out the cases where this is ?

Well I forsee that you may disagree to this but throughout the series I feel that she has chiefly contributed due to her intelligence, especially where she used those concealments in DH to hide from the death eaters. If it weren't for that they would have got found long back. But I guess it was a slight exaggeration on my part to claim that, I guess it is a joint effort in the end.

Yes, Ron did hook up with Lavender because he was jealous of Krum AND because Hermione made him feel like crap and played on his insecurities and there was Lavender paying him attention. I agree Ron was also to blame ? but I never see Hermione get called on her blatant manipulation of a guy. At least Ron dated Lavender for a while .. didn?t use her for one date to make her jealous. Well again that depends on your perception but to me the fact that the relationship lingered makes it all the worse as he wanted to dump her and avoided her quite a bit in the course of it and prolonged it, so it would have been better to have ended it altogether. All I saw it as was Ron getting the better of his insecurities and wanting to get more snogging practice, that being the sole reason for the relationship. And earlier I had stated Hermione wasn't right to have used Cormac so despite liking her I'm not completely oblivious to her faults as claimed.

Plus when did Hermione treat Ron like crap that made him take such a step as to date Lavender, it was Ginny's comment about Ron kissing Aunt Muriel and his realisation that Hermione, Harry and Ron had all kissed and he was the only one who hadn't that made him take such a step. Him and Hermione were getting somewhere with their relationship before that happened so could you point out when she 'treated him like crap' that led him to take such a step.

Well that may be the case for you but for me, her reaction to Fleur was based on jealousy. She?s everything Hermione?s not in terms of looks and Ron pays her attention. And yes, Ginny gave her the name of Phlegm but Hermione laughed at it and encouraged Ginny it. Which is just as bad IMO. I do acknowledge it now that you mention it.

Hermione was also unkind to Fleur and to me she had the least reason for it and while Ginny and Molly?s reactions were resolved, her?s wasn?t. And sorry, but I don?t get logic ? but are you saying it?s ok for Hermione to be upset about how Fleur is behaving and not being a good guest ? but for Ginny it isn?t ? Even though Fleur?s insulting Ginny?s house and parents ?

And sorry but you do realize that Hermione ridiculed Luna a lot as well right ? Not just Ron. And Ron actually states that he?s starting to like Luna in HBP.

It was much less than Ron though and atleast it wasn't as direct. The reason I saw Ron starting to like Luna was merely because he found her commentating amusing, whereas Hermione is suggested to be friendlier towards her much earlier.

I guess that was aimed at me and what I said about her brothers looking out for her but I had also admitted that she may have got a little tired of the double standards.

And I do agree what you said about Ron having no problem when Harry kissed Cho yet was sexist in his attitude regarding Ginny's boyfriend, but nonetheless what Ginny said was highly provocative and overboard.
