the prophecy clearly states that 'none lives while the other survives'.. so any one of them have to die.. but did you see last time they cast the spell on each other 'Priori Incatatem' happened cuz their wands have the have the same pheonix hair.. so even if one die, the other will be affected.. but i hope voldemort dies

there is another way to look at it :

well the proph says that "either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives"

one interpretation is that one vanquishes the other bcuz both cant live at the same time ....

another way to look at is .... both might end up vanquishing each other ...

in that way both die ... so neither of them is alive .... bcuz there is another way to look at the word "either" ... for example in the sentence

"there are trees on either side of the road" ... so here the word "either" = both
