Hey return_to_hades,
I am glad to see someone open to non-canon ships. Except for Remus & Tonks, I don't really ship any canon couple, and a lot people keep asking me why so?
I don't question other people's ships. Or rather I try my best not to. I ALWAYS thought, despite the "sexual tension" (pfft) between Ron-Hermione that Harmony would end up together. I am not a kid, I analyze characters and all. I don't find Harmony's relationship from any angle as to that shared by a brother and sister.
Coming to Dramione, I love them. If Draco could just look past his pure blood mania, I think he's the perfect man for Hermione. He is capable of handling a person like Hermione, tbh. He has that calm and composed aura which is imho perfect for Hermione Granger. And there would be some real passion in the rel too.
And like you said, different people percieve differently. It's wrong to trash or insult somebody else's opinion to make yours look better. I find that a stark sign of insecurity.
-N.
BTW- I am that person who had commented on your sarcasm article asking you whether I could use a few extracts from it. I guess the usage was pretty effective, if I may say so.

Found this on that tumblr and decided to post it :)

And wow, Harry and Hermione "wouldve jsut crumbled"? We've shipped this pairing since f**kING BOOK ONE. When we saw the movies, it just made our ship more believable.

And are you conveniently forgetting that the author herself commented and actually SAID that Harry and Hermione was always a possible factor in the book? Have you forgotten we're all entitled to our own opinion, and even the author understands and respects that?

Or are you so insecure in your own opinion, you like to push people down about opinions that oppose your own to make you feel better? Have you forgotten then we might just be more intelligent that you and can actually outsmart you?

In the movies, yes, it's undeniable they have great chemistry, mostly due to the actors. In the books, their friendship is the most constant factor there. The beauty of this pairing is that we don't rely on "sexually charged" (*snorts*) arguments and desperation. Harry and Hermione have established a deep trust between them that could never have been broken.

Ron's left them, twice now. Ginny didn't even fight for him. She did what he wanted, not what he needed. Harry can trust Hermione completely, because he's seen her do the same thing unquestioningly. They care for each other. They understand one another. If you had a relationship like that, would you truly expect it to crumble if you became something more?

We really hate getting mad and it's getting tedious to keep repeating ourselves. You'll do well to just leave us to our opinions.

Sorry I kind of am just entering this discussion:S

Personally I LOVE Draco and Hermione as a couple..I wish they had ended up together..But I love Harry and Hermione as well..I loved how they were always there for each other..and I felt he was always there for her..this is not to say that Ron wasnt there for her..(Im not trying to start any arguments with anyone..just my personal opinion) but I just felt that Harry was there for her..in a way that I felt Ron wasnt..they were both there to protect her..but yeah..I hope some people understand what Im trying to say
I felt there chemistry worked for me compared to Ron and Hermione..As per Draco and Hermione..the reasons about me liking them can go on..and in my head they ended up together lol...but I just thought they would have been an interesting couple to read about..
I totally respect J.K.Rowling and I just love the way she had written them..

Hope I didnt offend anyone with my comments..if I did..Im really sorry cause thats not what I was trying to do

Hey Guys,
I completely agree with those of you who said everyone has the freedom to view HP's couples as they wish. Some love canon (like me), while others don't. That's completely fine as long as we don't insult each other's opinions. I personally love all the canon couples that happened, be it Lily/James, Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny, Lupin, Tonks, etc, well...maybe except for the two unknown characters Neville and Luna ended up with.😆 They'd have been so perfect for each other!
Anyhow, what I'm trying to say is...please don't bash each other's opinions, and do not state anything as a fact...in depends on people's individual perception whether they view Harry and Hermione as siblings or a potential couple, and when JKR writes something that goes against your interests, it does make one feel a bit disappointed, but that does not mean she ruined her series or made a mistake, because another portion of fans who love her canon couples are happy, and they obviously don't think she did something wrong.
Also, the books and movies portrayed the trio's relationship differently, so I can see why people who see the movies but never read the books are Harmony shippers, because there is definitely Harry-Hermione chemistry in the movies, but in the books you see more of Ron and Hermione.
Anyhow, please don't argue or else I may have to close the topic, and I'd hate to do that.

@Mihika- Sorry but I don't think I was disrespecting your opinion. You ship Harry/Hermione that's nice, while I'm content shipping Ron/Hermione. See the thing here is, just like some people have taken greater interest in understanding the character of Draco, I tried to understand the character of Ron and the Ron/Hermione relationship. Ron/Hermione was just not about the sexual tension. That just came as years passed. The kind of bond Ron and Hermione is share is way different than what Harry/hermione share. You can't even begin to compare the two different relationships Hermione has with both of them. There was indeed a lot of understanding between H/Hr, but to say Ron didn't respect or understand Hermione is slightly wrong. Because he has been there for Hermione whenever it has been needed. If he didn't care for her, he wouldn't have bothered to help her and be there for her when she was being tortured by Bellatrix. Yes, they sometimes make each other's lives living hell, but that's what I feel is the cutest bit about them. Because no relationship can have PERFECT understanding, where no one even hurts each other once. That's a superficial relationship which I don't think I have ever witnessed in real life. As for Ron/Hr, they're just a lot more believable for me, the bickering, and all, but at the end of it all, still there for each other.

And I am not saying people who ship Draco/Hr or H/Hr are delusional. You have every right to ship who you like, but trying to say that the Canon spoilt the book isn't fair to all those who do ship canon.

harry/hermoine were soulmates and i always thnk tht soulmates go a long way..cuz its more of wat common u have in each other rather than the differences.
oaky,ron/hermoine used to love each other..people do fall in love /get attracted to people who are differnt/opposite to them..but i dont think people can be happy wid someone who has different /opposite views for lyf i.e. marriage...
cuz at the end of the day u may be frustated with the fights.everyone needs love and to be loved..thts wat harry/hermoine was lyk.
sexual tensions are well thts just physical attraction tht is not LOVE.love stays with u for life.
and i have read the books many times..and seen the movies many more times..and honestly in both movies nd books it was more of harry/hermoine.
harry/hermoine atleast knew how/what the other felt..whereas ron was more self-centered.

and no,i am not bashing JKR's writing style!i m just asking people to think differently..to think tht had it been harmony it wud have been much better. 😊

Who said anything about people shipping non-canons delusional? I ship draco/hermione too 😆 (yes, i ship a lot of couples). And I'm completely fine with the way things turned out to be. But saying that Ron and Hermione's relationship is completely based off sexual tensions is wrong, Mihika. Obviously, I've taken a lot of my time understanding Ron Weasley. People don't like him much at all. But that's only because they don't bother to understand him. Always being the second choice can be too frustrating. Calling ron self-centered is a bit justified. But let's not forget that Harry had faults too.

And about what you said, we've told you before, ron and hermione aren't completely opposites. But they're different. Even Harry and Hermione are very different. And you can love someone who's not exactly like you.
My favourite character in the series is Ron. Because he's pefect in his own imperfect way. He's a bit selfish at times, he can be an outright jerk, but he's always been shunned into a corner. Having the chosen one and the brightest witch of her age for friends have been occasionally hard on him because sometimes it's better to be the best. And he never had that chance.
I could write a book about Ron's character but that's obviously not going to make you like him any more than you do now, so i'm going to stop. But this point you stated "
sexual tensions are well thts just physical attraction tht is not LOVE.love stays with u for life."
Are you seriously implying the fact that ron and hermione didn't love eachother? Then i bet we were reading two different series. Because it has always been hinted from the very first book that they might end up together.
So, you can live with the fact that Ron and Hermione were just convenient and I'll live with the fact that they had an understanding and love far more superior than Hermione had with Harry. It's just my opinion. Hermione's relationship with Harry had always been restricted for some reason. But I love their friendship, their bond. It's strong and it will definitely last forever.

In class today they taught us that you usually be with someone due to the similarities and not the differences. A realistic relationship needs a LOT of understanding and care. Trust me, I love Ron a lot, but just not with Hermione. Hermione's my second favourite character after Tonks & I think she needs someone like Harry or Draco.

Ron though a wonderful character lacks the sensitivity and maturity that a character like Hermione needs. I have started feeling that when it comes to love, same wavelengths are much, much more nice. I do support some opposites attracts ships- but only if its the guy who is the silent, mature one and the girl is all bubbly. I somehow don't see it working out the other way round.

And yeah, Harry didn't have to wait for her life to be in danger to care or go for her. He has always been there for her.

And as far as I know, a LOT of Dramione shippers ship Harmony and the other way round.

But why? Why should people think differently? Doesn't everyone have the right to think what they want and like who they like?😊 We understand that you're a great Harmony fan, but you're trying prove that they're better than Romione, and honestly, that won't happen to all Romione fans. It all has to do with one's perception and you can never change another's perception when it is harmless, nor should you attempt to because they have the right to their opinion.👍🏼 If you still want to change other's opinions though, then you could go and speak with JKR herself and have her write a different DH where Harry and Hermione end up together, since she herself is the biggest Romione fan out of all of us.

Would it be fair to say it ruined the series for "me", at least in my perspective and those who share the same view. J.K Rowling is a brilliant writer. Harry Potter is a fascinating creation and her books bring the wizarding world alive, and all around the reader. In my opinion she is one of the best fantasy fiction writers; however, falls short at writing romance. To me the romances were weak and underdeveloped. I was left feeling unmoved and unaffected, where it should have moved me or made my heart skip a beat.

I'm sure that canon romances maybe almost perfect for a lot, but I think those who don't feel the canon have every right to say that it ruined the series in their minds at least. Can't lie and say you enjoyed and like something you really do not.
