Since the recent turn of events have disappointed me to the core, I will give an alternate version of what could have been shown to keep grey-shade & basic character trait of Ranvir intact, that is long term planner, profit earner & mastermind manipulator.
Love triangle would have been- Kabir proposing to Aanchal, Aanchal saying yes to him but on later she could have gradually fallen more for Ranvir.
As of now, AaBir are together & Ranvir is the outsider.
It will begin from Kabir proposing Aanchal, Aanchal accepting it & Ranvir left heartbroken.
Kabir was already grey so, no need to say anything about him.
Ranvir-
1. He could not convince Sarika for the marriage at all.
2. Let Kabir-Naina affair continue. Naina, her brother & Gaurav in desperation would have already revealed the truth.
3. When the truth was out, Ranvir couldn't have defended Kabir at all. Rather he should have made a distance from Kabir citing he is Aanchla' friend too meanwhile, making a perfect friendly move to wards Aanchal.
4. Since they were already friends, Ranvir could have been the one to lent his shoulder to aanchal.
5. During Kabir was shot, Ranvir could have found the culprit in some time. But before that, he could have already created confusion in Aanchal's mind regarding both the brothers.
6. And when Aanchal had fallen for Ranvir more than she had for Kabir, then could have kept the proposal.
7. Ranvir could have kept Aanchal spend more time with him on account of business rather than on account of defending Kabir always.
8. He could be Aanchal's rebound once Kabir's intentions were revealed.
9. He could have saved Aanchal from Gaurav matter.
This way, Kundali-dosh & fake-illness drama would not have been needed to introduced at all.
Aanchal could have been given a fair chance to see both the brothers in romantic light, rather than being unaware of Ranvir's feelings. A girl being in love with 2 guys at the same time is not uncommon.
Being grey means, one is manipulative enough to convince another person to think from your point of view in their full conscience. Manipulating someone isn't a tough task at all. In friendship, it happens a lot of times. If the competition is someone who is important to you, then all you have to do in that matter is to be not defensive of your competitor & be a perfect advisor for the other person. Being grey means, you are cunning enough to shed your absolute & ideal righteousness & let other see through your perspective but in this process you don't hurt someone intentionally. It's like a competition between two business friends, bidding for one deal & each presenting their best move to win without hurting the other.
Grey-shade doesn't necessarily hurt someone, rather you take advantage of the most vulnerable situation of a person to gain your objective with they considering that this probably is the best decision to be taken at time. This way,you gain your objective & others don't even have antagonistic attitude towards you. They might not like you but they wouldn't hate you either. Grey characters hurt you but you recover from that hurt easily.
There is a thin line between characters. Everyone is grey but the amount of grey is best defined by the situation of the person & how they behave in it.
But then ab to teer kaman se nikal gaya. Ab kuch ni ho skta.
In logon ne KRPKAB mein Dev se hi kuch seekh liya hota. At one time he was the best grey character Indian TV had ever seen. Dev was manipulative enough to always get what he wanted. He wasn't white but he wasn't black either.
