Thanks Emina......we still have to see today's episode to see how it plays out........the promo sensationalizes things.............but you are right, he will regret big time and as I said these kinds of oath more often than not, are counterproductive.

See, the beauty of Othello is it's tragedy............it defines the emotion of jealousy and by framing the tragic outcomes of jealousy, underscores its futility. There, as in this show, the hero is played upon by the villians, so much so that he becomes his own biggest enemy. This is kind of what has happened here, B has played up on his guilt so much, that he went with the moment and made this senseless vow.

I am so with you in not wanting GKD to follow the path of Othello, but what I was saying in the post was that this show is based on it. The CV's, Ashish have said as much.

But being a popular show that is to some extent driven by ratings, hopefully they will not show real tragedy 😃

Yes, in matters of heart, he is like thali ka baigan (brinjal on a plate😆), rolling from one end to the other very easily. Poor thing, he is a newbie at this....hence the drastic results. I had said as much in this piece (https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/gunahon-ka-devta/1511688/the-letter-os-on-pg-1-and-2-translation-pg-8?pn=2) that I had written when he recd Arpi's letter while excercising. Arpi really has her work cut out😕

Hello everyone🤗,

Hope the weekend, and life in general is treating you all well😊

OK, so I watched the Fri episode and thought of updating this dissection, that had been based off of the promo. Well, this part at least, was spot on:

Also, at some level, he feels guilty for:

Defying his hitherto guiding star, aka Bhouji
Falling in love and being happy with Arpita when B has never known the pleasure of married life.
Seeming to get on with his life when the family business of revenge was still pending.

This is, perhaps, the reason that prompted him to make the vow, to somehow punish himself for his transgressions of the past few days. What he seems to have missed out on is, that this decision directly affects another person, who incidently, happens to be his wife of few hours. An eighteen year old girl who put herself in mortal danger in order to be with him.

After watching the episode, it is clear that more than anything else, our dear boy (ODB), is an emotional fool. BJ's theatrics, the sound and fury of the staged drama, her rhetorical barbs, all succeeded brilliantly in sending him on a major guilt trip.........that culminated in the vow.

At that moment, in his mind, he didn't think of Arpita as the love of his life....rather, she was a distraction who had caused him to lose his focus and hence, was to be shunned. Then again, I think, on another level, his heart knows that Arpi will be his through thick and thin, and will support him in this decision. He thinks, she will realize how important this revenge business is to him and understand......and will stand by him..

Coming to Arpita's reaction..............talk about being OTT. Careening through corridors and crying bitter tears at the bedside.........seriously? She just exhibited the immaturity of her 18 years.....I would have much preferred if her tears had been for the way Avi stopped her from speaking and stormed off without a backward glance at her, rather than her fixation on SR. The focus was all wrong, IMHO. I just hope they redeem her some in Monday's epi.

Also:

Avita wedding did not take place on the death anniversary of the elder thakurs. BJ says "it was a happy day like this", not this date.
"Haath nahin lagaoonga" is a colloquialism that means "will not have physical relations." So I don't think we need to take it literally.......we may as yet have handlocks.😃
In the precap, BJ is essentially gloating that she was successful in keeping Avi for herself.....and away from that 18 year old.

Hopefully, this next week will be better than Fri and we will see Avi show better sense and at least, think back on the timing of the song and dance and begin to get some inkling, however vague, about BJ's intentions. Or, maybe this is too much wishful thinking😕
