Jzee, I would love to but my new job means l come back home late and exhausted...that's why I couldn't make topics for the last 2 weeks of the show :( But I understand you're also busy too. Maybe we could do alternate days??
LOL Nur...I stupidly replied in one of the topics. I tried to but then someone made a comment about not being able to connect to Gulaal while they can with the new show just really took me by surprise so I had to jump in there because I cannot stand this show being insulted even a little bit :P Honestly, after seeing the quality of Gulaal...I can't even watch any other Indian drama even if I want to.

Whaaa??!! Someone said that??😲🤣...I would be almost tempted to reply except it's probably not worth reasoning with someone who's mindset would predispose them to watching mediocrity of such sort anyways...so if they can connect to the new show, good for them...Gulaal is meant for ppl with more discerning taste who look for quality storytelling and acting.

*sigh* Sadly I'm not really being able to watch anything else now too...in front of Gulaal toh everything feels watered down and a waste of time.

Yeh they did and I had to control myself just in case I came across too judgemental but this is the truth really. Shows which don't make the general viewers think are easy to connect with 🤔 Brain power zyada use nahin hota :P

LOL I just saw the post where you replied...Gulaal left ppl COLD?😆😆...Chalo hopefully Mr. Joru ka ghulam and his "police officer" wife can get them all WARMED UP😆.

Honestly I don't begrudge the new show anything...it's a fact that TV shows will come and go...nothing lasts forever.

But I guess I do find it sad that mediocrity will always be the norm that will attract the most amount of audience...I remember when Gulaal first stated and there were endless sigs floating around of GV and that flowing yellow dupatta scene😆😆...To me, that was what actually put me OFF the show and I stopped watching😆...but I guess that was just me...to most ppl, these are elements to actually start loving a show...and I see something similar with the new show...like you said, ismein brain power nahin use karna padta naa😆

Actually, before Gulaal , I used to watch some shows which had started well, which I found relatively better and some others due to the sheer fact that the characters were "familiar faces"to see when I felt alone... like people you know on the street you frequent ...but after watching a show like Gulaal and being with "people" like GK , I find it impossible to watch any other show on Indian telly

they all seem so shallow compared to the richness we had all got used to , so trivial compared to the depths we have been treated to in Gulaal... I have actually tried to watch shows like CID and Adaalat and found them more bearable than regular soaps , but even they arent bearable beyond an episode or two ...

I'd rather watch Gulaal episode over and over again and still enjoy them so much more than any other show... just finished watching Kes-Gul scenes 1 to 20...what a treat to watch...
nothing can come anywhere close...

Glad to have watched Gulaal , again and again

OMG I'm the same. I hate it whenever people straight away put the 'new couple on the block' in their siggies just because of the initial reaction to dupatta scenes and what not. Is that all it takes to attract you??
I know GK had that one dupatta scene but because it was so rare and unexpected, I loved it!! Maybe for the first time, I got those supposed butterflies you're supposed to get during dupatta scenes 🤣

@VJ: Exactly...it's like there is a BEFORE Gulaal and AFTER Gulaal time now...what we've watched before this and now after Gulaal, nothing grips you in the same way...the richness as you said.

@Reemz: I mean just look at the difference in promos only naa...the GK story was never advertised long term...like with the new show or many other shows, they show romantic shots of the pair and their after married life or whatever to pull in the phangurls even before the story actually starts.

But Gulaal let the story unfold piece by piece...it's not meant for ppl easily satisfied with typical cliched lame romantic scenes.

GK got such EPIC build-up...a kind I've never seen before and I seriously doubt any show will be able to match up to that anytime soon.

VJ, I have been an Indian serial junkie for most of my life. I've seen all kinds of shows but now I've come to a point where after watching something Gulaal, it's very difficult to go back to a 'normal' show which is of the same quality as any other on television. It's not that there aren't any good dramas out there but they will still seem like a downgrade for me now.

That GK dupatta scene was so much more than the usual dupatta scene ..there were so many hidden undertones to it ..it had the GK magic in it , and while I hadnt much cared for the GV dupatta scene either , I loved the GK dupatta scene and their awesome expressions ...went straight to the heart..

Its kind of strange how the production house never felt the need to extensively promote this forbidden kind of love story even though the trps weren't up to the standards required by the channel. They simply let their work do the talking :) Like how it should be!
