Nur - yeh, there were a few of us who 'noticed' the blue uniform! She just had to take her chance to wear it that last time. We know its Mansi's secret guilty pleasure 🤣 As for Kesar in the white kurta - I suppose he's heeding to the 'girls' Mansi can't stop taking his case over - because every has always been gaga about how good he looks in that! Plus the bandage matched 😆

I almost wanted to throw a tantrum about bichare Gul Kes not getting naye kapde apne lagan par bhi - like recycle ki bhi hadd hoti hai, Gullu to still getting married second time, Kesar ki to pehli and aakhri hai... kapde to de do naye! 😆 - but they really stuck to the colors and themes. And oh, I think someone on Srushti's post for 3rd episode - where GV meet first time - said the same, about Gulaal AND Vasant for that matter wearing the seeming saffron yellow. But Srusti insists this is YELLOW! 😆 I think this was between Arti and Srush... i might be wrong...

anyway - thank you so so much for the avis, imma run to to get something on my space again - and OMG OMG OMG I gushed so much about that last look he gave her before the bye - its almost like he said 'fine' to her - a fine more along the lines of oh fine whatever! Mansi didn't cut him slack about the girls really 😆 - and I think its fair, because even people who loved GV may not have singularly gushed so much about Rahil - Neil does have an exclusive 'girl' fan base! ☺️ Except, to his credit and in his defense, he is a rare TV artist who deserves all the adulation for good measure. And really, he's not a classic chocolate face. His appeal actually comes far more from his excellent presence on screen - hard to miss! AND... oh how can I not rave about his smile... 😍

ps: Yes, Galool was a genius hit 😆 I almost wanted the show to incorporate the version in some form! 😆

LOL but hey, yellow is definitely many shades closer to being the color of Saffron...I'd say it's a strong base for that shade😛😆...and given this show's tendency to symbolize Kesar in so many ways, I would be more inclined to believe there was symbolism on some teeny tiny level there too😆...this yellow color has followed them later on also in that vat savitri wala scene and ofcourse in the finale.

You are SUCH a hopeless phangurl, Jzee😆😆...First in line to jump to his rescue...Neil should know that he has such a passionate defender of his honor😆

Manasi really enjoys bugging him about his phangurls...hilarious...and he really does get almost irritated when she does it😆...that look was too funny😆

^^ Haha! I bet she's at his case all the time! She looks the kind who'd not leave a chance, and Neil looks like a guy who'd show the 'male blush' moment sooner than later 😆

btw - not to miss yellow on the ludo board. Gulaal chose yellow and we all agreed it was closest to 'saffron'. Kesar obviously started with 'laal meri' 😆 I don't know if the writing actually took such minor nothings into notice - but it can't always be a coincidence so I just like to believe they were high end of detailing. Not to forget what Neil said about the DOP - totally totally valid and deserving, that is one guy who bags all the pats for the visual treats we wouldn't stop raving about! Watching the opening episodes with Srushti and co made me realize more than ever, how phenomenal the DOP is! Like in the GK phase, we notice things in the caps, far more times, than in the scenes themselves, because the characters inevitably take precedence. But the opening scenes have that entire Thar shooting - and there is so much brilliance in the severe areas they have shot in... not to forget the colors of the mela where GV meet... The camera has undeniably upped the impact of every scene in this show! Why do usual show makers neglect this critical aspect?

^^ ☺️ ☺️ ☺️ I know man! Someone translate that khack khuch for me already! Why was Steve Jobs not smart enough to make provision for such coded number dialing from his 'state of art' Apples?! 🤓

Oh I remember the opening epis and being quite blown away by the cinematography and how beautifully everything was shot...I watched this show to start with, Jzee😆...but I stopped watching it cuz I found the GV scenes too cheesy😆...*Edit: Anyone remember the scene when Gulaal falls off the ferris wheel and Vasant catches her?? Seriously what WAS that??😕😆...and thought it would just be another lame love story and tuned out.

But yes, once I came back to the show, I appreciated that cinematic quality once again...too bad though that they couldn't shoot those kind of outdoors again...the way they shot the desert in the beginning epis.

But in the GK phase, I'd say I loved the lighting in particular...especially the way they used blue lighting or shadows in many of their scenes.

😍 Awww-ieee! ☺️ I loved how this scene played out. I was so oblivious to anyone in the screen space except these two - the way Gulaal's eyes were only lowered when Kesar tells PB that she's staying forever too, and they rise only once - to look only at him... Aaah! And that half hug could beat a billion 'hawt' moments put together! GK are people from my wonderland!

Agreed - I think the bedroom scenes with thunder outside have been some of the best! Plus, the sequence of them going to that house just the two of them - that entire episode was beauuutiful!

Outside shoots were certainly another class - but the desert and that dry barren for endless miles wilderness had its edge of course! The 'blues' were at work in those scenes too - all the dusk-dawn scenes in the desert had such an austere striking impact! And then the rangoli in the mela was just plain P.H.E.N.O.M.E.N.A.L. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it, even in movies!

Reemz, Nur - I wasn't planning to ditch our plan of going back to GK phase, but yesterday was insane !

Btw - I was wondering Reemz - whenever you see this - if you could make the posts - and do your classic moment of the day thing like you did for daily episodes last couple months or more, and Nur and I can reserve - me for my chapters 😆 and Nur for the caps et al?! I might not around at 9 (by IST) for a few days though - but I'll reserve my spot and be back to edit somewhat later...

So I just went to the Diya aur Baati forum today and was reading some posts...quite amusing that Gulaal is a debate in some of them still...lol...and ppl are actually touting that show as a "unique" concept...ahaha

And I see some sigs floating around already of the typical dupatta on face scenes...no show is complete without them, haan? Gulaal also HAD to show that in the very third epi with Vasant and Gulaal.

So so glad that GK were so much beyond that.

And I have to add it's always amazing to see how QUICKLY ppl move on to MEDIOCRITY...goes to show why a masterpiece like Gulaal will remain as rare as it is.
