ZOMG - that episode was so wholesome!!! (for the lack of a better word) There was movement in the track, there was a new character put to very good use, there only bare minimum tolerable amount of Kulli - and of course, there was so much of our lovely leads! Sigh! Perfect way to end a Saturday - and build up the anticipation for Monday!
Starting from the lights vs flowers debate - which ever so slightly was a reflection of the food menu but still as much fun anyway! I loved how Gulaal was totally taking his case, and not 'patronizing' him over his 'fail decoration plan' 😆 I know I keep talking about Gulaal not patronizing, but that's exactly how much I'm relieved by ts absence with each passing day, lol! Kesar going from oh don't be Galool, I know better - to - *grumpy* whatever, don't rub it in now... was such a classic Kesar scene! Gulaal has come to life in these last days - and she has only Kesar to thank. Maybe she doesn't consciously think of it like that - but allowing herself this freedom of expression after curbing it for herself for a decade is bringing out the brimming over the top life in her - and being the person she once was her happiness and aura is spreading in the air - supplemented by our dashing chora ofc! 😆
The epic UST scene - thank you for the caps Reemz - was like you said - in such natural flow of events. And yes, brownie points to the writers to make Gulaal conscious before Kesar even realizes! The tables have turned! And this is not Gulaal walling him out - this is Gulaal becoming aware! The way that sequence flows from one emotion to the next - from Kesar's urgent please please please to Gulaal's being rendered incapable of any better reaction than to pull out - it has guilty conscience written all over it, whether or not she can comprehend, much less accept! Higher like for the way they resume, the way Kesar backs off, then is rapidly back o the roll telling her to cover his back! They are like best friends from high school times, who've lived through the years calling themselves 'best friends' when their obvious bonding and its reaches beyond are visible to a blind man. Of course, the difference is, one friend here has already confessed! Sometimes - like this scene today - it actually amazes me that Kesar manages to be so unruffled by the proximity, which stuns Gulaal like that! But that's where I've also been saying that Kesar's love - for all its far and wide - currently possesses this quality of 'chastity'... which doesn't ring alarm bells for him, when it does for Gulaal. But while understanding Kesar's unaffected demeanor until Gulaal gives him the look and shrugs him off makes sense when one goes into an understanding of his style of love, understanding Gulaal's glaring siren of touch-me-not phases cannot be explained in any way other than her own bursts of awareness! Physical awareness can again be two kinds - the kind she had with Dushyant's lust, which was purely repulsed, and the kind she has with Kesar, where she's desperate to get herself away from what she feels so she can get away from the thoughts that pipe up in consequence! She's fighting a lost battle - little does she know thy trouble's name is 'attraction'! ☺️
I officially love SD! Yes she's a little too gregarious for my liking - but hey, she totally takes JK's case 🤣 not to mention is already proving to be the unbidden, unrestricted, unstoppable cupid between GK. Lage Raho Saru Ben 😆 It's just amazing the way nothing escapes her notice. Kesar walks in with Talli - the girl catches her notice and she doesn't hesitate a second to talk about the talk. When Gulaal distracts attention, she lets it go easily, not obliviously. I like how even blatantly and candidly, she knows when to stop over a matter, and where to pick it up again. I like how she doesn't differentiate her love (or gifts) based off her preferences between PB and JK, but that's in light of her own ethics - it does't mean she can't see through JK and dare to name the game precisely! I like how she does differentiate Gulaal's place - in the house, and for the house. How she explains to Gulaal her role as the future of this clan - and her capability of doing it better than any other! Kesar get's his sneak peak (adat se majbur 😆 ) and gets caught at it - like I said, she misses nothing! The time she speaks up about Talli's truth is not in bitchiness, but in concern, and as an elder who can tell right from wrong - she is the kind of person who would hold a child's finger, not to save him from the falls, but to guide him, and then let him take a shot at it! When she told JK she should remember she is Dushyant's Ba - it truly wasn't a taunt. She was talking sense. JK has been - like someone said the other day, can't remember who - a loyal mother, but not a good one. She has neither taught her children the right ways, nor has any sensible control over them as a mother should. Dushyant loves his mother, but she has never earned that respect from him, where he should take her final word on a matter, as final. And it's not Dushyant's fault. Let's not even start about Raman! Anyway - I like how after giving Gulaal her little pep talk, she proceeds to do the same for Kesar - and when he earnestly says what sounds warped to the suddenly more alert guilty conscience of Gulaal! Of course, Kesar, if no one else, can sense the tension in a second, and goes on to amend his words.
The toll weighs on these two - when they are left alone in the room by themselves. The same room, which is their turf of equality and fun and friendship and debates and plans in the day - becomes claustrophobic in the night, with all the 'unresolved pheelings' rebounding off the walls and falling in the space between them! Their silent actions - Gulaal occupying herself with something as mundane as drinking water, Kesar staring at nothing out the window, cause he doesn't have the right to stare at someone inside of it - scream tension 😍 And despite that thick air about them - he doesn't think twice before making a remark about her sleep. Oh his concern is never ending!
Fateful is the positioning of cupids - and because its mandate for Kesar's sleeping self on the rooftop to be seen by SD, she wakes up being thirsty. Kesar wakes up on a single poking - sorry, make that jumps out of his skin like he's seen a ghost - and when he stands between the cupid and his avoiding ladylove - poor guy has nothing but to watch the scene unfold. His eyes are clouded with exhaustion - and oh, is it so much to just be allowed some hours of sleep?! But cupid is planning long term - and can't let him get away with bowing out of his right just like that! sona hai to haq se so jayo - warna karo jagrata! 😆 I love how SD comes to her own conclusion about the two having fought - unko massom chehre dekho Saru ben! Kya wo kabhi lad sakte hain?! 😆 kitaa dara diyaa bacho ko! 😆 - The way she not only comes to her own conclusion about their separate sleeping arrangement, but also gives them both an earful - Kesar about his empty promise to keep Gulaal happy (poor guy man! stuck between the devil and the deep sea!) and Gulaal about being more sensible (oh you're going to be surprised at how not sensible she can chose to be SD!) and still being whimsical enough! The sight of their faces is right out of the childhood jingle - who stole the cookie from the cookie jar... i think #1... i think #2...! 😆
And when she finally goes out ordering them detention together - they share a look which is that of temporarily indisposed partners in crime 😆 Btw - the little scene of Kesar sticking up a pillow under Gulaal's head (oh my heart goes out to this guy, I tell you! There isn't just no maximum limit to what he can do for her, there is also no minimum limit. Think of the smallest more trivial thing to make her happy - chances are, he'll think of something even more trivial and beat you at it!) Special points to the writers, again, at not allowing Gulaal to 'spread and sleep' on the bed. Everyday he goes out to sleep - she sleeps well and fine on the bed, because the silent arrangement goes in a way, that Kesar is not being troubled. Tonight, she can't watch him sit up in that upright chair all night, and sleep away to glory herself. Her need to be equally discomfited as him t make the detention fair is not of a mother or an elders! It is of an equal, and a wife - the kind who would stay up waiting for you at dinner no matter how late, because she doesn't have it in herself to be content and full, when her hubby labors away!
Finally - the baby talk. I loved how SD stole the thunder from the entire khandan in the blinking of an eye! She says the forbidden word - heir - and suddenly, everyone from top to bottom of the hierarchy has no answers to give!
SD truly is angel sans disguise. Nothing will keep her from imposing the right things to do on every member of the family - this way or that. I suppose Kesar will understand what MB was mocking about with Giga, when he made fun of Kesar saying he will explain GK's DV situation to SD!
Some quickies:
I like the double meaning and significance of what Gulaal says to Kesar and the family in the opening scene - about how if lying can make SD happy, then there is nothing wrong with lying for a few days. that he, Kesar should not worry about her trouble or discomfort, she will be fine and will handle it. - it makes me think of how far she has practiced these words in the past. Whether over the DV with Kesar, and the duration she kept it secret from MB; or over the Vasant murder mystery, which she keeps buried inside of her from forever! She's lying, and hiding truth, because if it makes people who matter happy, her discomfort in living with the secret, and the murderer under the same roof in cordiality day after day for a decade is secondary - she is fine, she will deal with it! That, is vintage Gulaal. Nothing beats her, when she's made up her mind. Yet it seems, this time, something will. Oh, I mean someone of course! (: SD's unrelenting and unresting ways of putting GK to spot is going to get the better of them sooner or later . Of course, JK is leaving no stone unturned to spill the beans and watch free show! With news of the will, she has lucrative motive to follow through her scheming in bringing the curtains down on Gulaal! Personally, I don't think SD can be kept in the dark too long - with obvious signs everywhere - but just as much will be evident, the unnamed and unaccepted GK bond to her. I think she of all the people can be trusted to see that 2 and this 2 and put them together to understand that GK do want to be together, but have no cognizance of their exact current status.
Not to forget Dushyant advancing on Raman's trail - oh Raman is such a sly fox! He's now created an understanding where the parents' of the groom will accept 10 lakhs - before Dushyant has stated he will give the money himself - and then the parents' will graciously hand over half to Raman. Honestly, is Kunal's father so gullible? But I forget, the very family where ever member was once swindled by Raman, is all believing of his new find virtuous self. These, after all, are strangers! Dushyant is not just suspicious now - I think he knows. The money in Yogesh's bag is just not coincidence! He's totally into wrong stuff, and there's so going to be a link between evil son here, and evil son there. I feel for Reva - but I also think it might just be possible that she can figure a way to bring her husband back on track.
Still disliking new PB - and oh, did Talli actually get a spark of reform in her 'ignorin' treatment for Kunal - or was that (most likely) just her reflex to distract him from his bull's eye theory?!
phew - long long post! Very satisfied with the way the ME shaped out - there was so much fruitful movement on all fronts! Looking forward to Monday eagerly (and still unable to put away the nagging loss of this show going off air in precious few more days! The more awesome they get, the more I end up thinking about it, eventually!)
Please chip in!

*edit* forgot to add. The Kesar Dushyant angle is really relaxed atm! When Dushyant got off his call, perturbed, and Kesar asked him wazup, it was back in concern. Another day, weeks ago, he would have been cold, or cutting. I still can't tell if he's trusting Dushyant, much less forgiven, but he's actually made peace with his unforgivable crime for now. Maybe I think to much - but I really have a hunch KD are growing to bond deeper, before the murder mystery unravels in a greater catastrophe than simply the coming out of this secret!
