Written Update June 22, 2011

Jamna tells Dushyant that enough is enough, Gulaal cannot go against the panchayat's decision, Dushyant is the head and needs to do something else nobody will respect him, if his own family doesn't uphold his decision then neither will the villagers. Dushyant tells her that he cannot take every decision as a head, he is the son of the house and needs to think that way too. Jamna says why is he taking their side, Dushyant says what is ours and theirs, why does she always think from that perspective, why such bitterness. Jamna says that she has complaints with everything, Dushyant thinks of them as their family but for Mota Bha his own family is everything, which is why he named Vasant his heir. Its been 10 years, Jamna needs to let go of the heir thing, Vasant is dead. There is truth to her statement though - if Mota Bha cared about Jamna's family as his own, he would have nominated Dushyant as head of panchayat and not Gulaal. Jamna continues that Gulaal did deeyarvattu with Kesar instead of Dushyant yet nobody said anything, what have they gotten from this family. Gulaal made a mistake many years back and Dushyant is bearing the brunt till today, but today when she has to deal with her decision she is running away. Dushyant tells her that how can Gulaal live like Kesar's wife if she cannot accept that relationship, Kesar is forcing it on her, how can she live with him under the same roof in this situation. Jamna tells him all she knows is that Gulaal is Kesar's wife and she will have to return to the house. I think Dushyant didn't marry because of his guilt over killing Vasant, it would have been so awkward for Gulaal to be a widow while Dushyant is living happily with his wife, and maybe, just maybe, he had a companion/friend in Gulaal since both were lonely and supported each other.

Sudha is serving Talli food, Talli doesn't feel like eating but she insists. Paan Baa comes downstairs, Kesar enters, Paan Baa asks him where he was, he didn't eat anything since morning, he refuses but she insists. She seats Kesar in front of Talli and Sudha. Sudha tells Paan Baa that she made the food and doesn't want to feed milk to that snake that will turn around and bite her. Paan Baa asks her to hold her tongue. Sudha yells why, what has she or Talli done to be punished like this, Kesar is the one who did something wrong, for his own selfish reasons he played with her daughter's emotions, when he didn't want to marry why did he create such a charade. Kesar feels bad. Talli asks her to keep quiet but she refuses, saying that her curse will hurt Kesar. Paan Baa is shocked and concerned hearing this. Sudha picks up the morsel of food she was feeding Talli and tells Kesar that he will never see happiness, he will find peace neither morning nor night. She starts a curse when Talli stops her and gives her promise. Sudha stops and tells Kesar that he behaved so badly yet Talli doesn't want anything bad to happen to him, she is innocent, but Sudha will pray to God that the person who has stolen her daughter's smile should never see happiness. Sudha leaves crying. I hate Sudha. She is worse than Gulaal. I watched all old episodes and Sudha instigated Jamna so much and left no stone un-turned to cause Gulaal pain, she supported the men in their bullying of young Kesar. She was an absolutely horrible human being and changed only after Talli entered her life. Maybe this is God's way of paying her back, but all she is doing is pointing fingers at Gulaal and Kesar. Someone needs to show her the mirror. Thank God in an old episode Sudha mentioned that God never hears her prayers, so hopefully this curse/prayer will not come true. Kesar leaves without eating.

At night Kesar is on the terrace. Talli brings him food, Kesar wipes his tears. He refuses to eat, she tells him that Sudha was angry because she can't see Talli unhappy, and now if because of that Kesar doesn't eat Talli will feel more hurt. She goes to leave, he calls her, she makes an excuse to leave, he stops her and says that her heart is very big, despite his behavior she is still so nice, did she find only him in the whole world to love. She responds that love is not in one's control, he says that she is right. He asks if she will never look at her again, she yells why should she look at him. He tells her that she has been his best friend to date, he wants her to remain that way, he asks her to try to forgive him. She holds his collar and yells angrily that she cannot be his friend or forgive him. He calmly says fine, she is angry because he didn't marry her, he is ready to marry her. Talli is shocked and steps back confused. He tells her that her anger is justified, to get her forgiveness and keep her as a friend he is willing to do anything, even marriage. Talli looks confused. I swear to God, this girl is so brainless and living with Sudha doesn't help, that she would jump in the mandap and marry Kesar right then and there despite everything. Its as if both Talli and Kesar become weak in love, but Kesar has less self-control. Kesar continues that it would be injustice though, because he loves only Gulaal, even after marrying Talli he will not be able to love her because he loves only Gulaal, which is why he stopped the marriage. Talli cries and leaves. Kesar cries saying why doesn't she understand, even Gulaal doesn't understand, nobody understands, what to do.

Gulaal is looking at Vasant's photo crying. Her father comes in the room, her mother waits outside. Her father tells her that no matter how much one runs behind one's past, the past will never come in the hands, instead a person loses one's future running behind the past, and the future too slips from the hands. Perfect dialogue, this is exactly what Gulaal has been doing the last 10 years. He tells her that how much ever she runs behind her past her life will slip from her hands, because her life is not her past, it is today and tomorrow. Gulaal says that for her the past is everything, she is happy with that, because whatever she is today is because of her relationship with Vasant, and she is happy with that, she doesn't want a future that will take her away from Vasant. He tells her that his only advice is that to live life, one has to look ahead, not behind. He agrees that she misses Vasant even today, everyone misses him, but no matter how good the past one cannot make it one's present. Gulaal will need to understand that Vasant is her past, Kesar is her future and present, she will have to move forward in life with Kesar. Gulaal nods no, but her nods are not as intense and stubborn, her father blesses her and leaves. Its as if Gulaal knows deep down that her father is right, and she has started coming to terms with it.

Kesar is sleeping and flashbacks to Sudha's curse, his declaration of love, Gulaal's rejection, and he wakes up. He flashbacks to the past with Gulaal. He thinks of her and cries missing her. He is not able to deal with this intense burst of emotions. He then flashbacks to Gulaal's rain of slaps. He says to himself what is happening to him, how can he live like this, why is she doing this to him, and yells her name.

Precap: Gulaal is at the window, Kesar pleads with her to come home, he asks her to listen to him once and come back home. Gulaal asks if he is mad, he says yes he has gone mad, he has no control over himself, no matter how much he tries to run away from her thoughts they don't leave him. Gulaal looks around concerned to see if her family has woken up since Kesar was speaking loudly. He tells her that she doesn't want to see his face, but her face never leaves his mind, he tries to go away from her but she comes even closer, whenever he thinks he thinks only about her, wherever he looks he only sees her. Gulaal is worried and in tears. I don't like this obsessive Kesar. Obsession is not love, I want to see him mature a bit instead of running after Gulaal and insisting she come back home. I get that he misses her, but he just seems so desperate and seems to want her home more than anything else. He really needs something else, a mission in life. He has nothing other than Gulaal, he needs something else. Its okay to love and want Gulaal back, but now its getting crazy.
